Firmware 5.3.0

UI  4.9.0

After 5 blissful years with no problems at previous home, we moved  and although I can see all my devices,  I cannot make changes to their previous scene and program setups.  They still run the timings from the setups at our previous home.

Do I need to delete and reinstall each device?  each scene?  each program?  Is one or all of those the first step?

Your firmware and UI must be the same version. You need to clear your java cache, be sure to check all 3 boxes, and then download the IoX Launcher from here:

https://isy.universal-devices.com/start.jnlp

Once you install the launcher your UI and firmware will match, and you should then be able to change / edit your data.

I'm not aware of obtaining an earlier version of the launcher. The current version contains updates and bug fixes.

Can you update your MAC to the current operating system version?

Some of the older MACs can't be updated past 10.15.XX, in which case it may be time to replace your MAC.

The following can be updated past 10.15.XX

MacBook Pro: Early 2015 and later.

MacBook Air: Early 2015 and later.

MacBook: Early 2016 and later.

iMac Pro: 2017 and later.

iMac: Late 2015 and later.

Mac Pro: Late 2013 and later.

Mac Mini: Late 2014 and later.

@curmudgeon The IoX Launcher should work just fine on your version of MacOS. I just tried it on an old macOS I have limited access to. Ran IoX Launcher just fine on 10.12.6 (even running an outdated Java version).

  • Clear your java cache (aka deleting "temporary internet files") - checking all 3 boxes
  • Delete any existing files of start.jnlp or admin.jnlp anywhere on your system.
  • Download start.jnlp from the UDI website (click on "My ISY" in the top right).

Once downloaded it might "bark" at you that it's from outside the app store. If so then use Control and click on the icon. You should get a menu to pop up. Click "open". You should get a dialogue, but it should give you an option to open that again.

That should work. If not search the forums for how to allow 3rd party apps to run. I know last time I tested on this macOS there was a post from @Bumbershoot that got me to the options I needed to run it without issue. (I'm not entirely sure if THIS is the same post I used in the past, but it should give you tips.)

If you still have issues running start.jnlp to put the IoX Launcher icon on the desktop you can still get the admin file directly from the ISY994. Just use a browser to go to:  http://your.ISY.IP.address/admin.jnlp

The admin.jnlp will probably also bark at you that it can't/shouldn't be opened since it doesn't come from the app store. Just use the Control + click to get a menu that has "Open" at the top then follow the prompts to allow or open that file.

Can't update the Mac.

Yeah, I can’t update the macOS on the machine I used. It’s an older OS than you have and it worked, so you should be able to get it working. Since I have very limited exposure with macOS I rely on what others have posted here in the past and online searches to find tips and tricks. But this was fairly straight forward; hopefully you can get it sorted out.
