Gator88 Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 (edited) Hello - I am currently using the ISY 994 with firmware v.4.7.5. I see that there is a firmware update to v5.x. My question is - is there any reason or benefits to the upgrade? In the ISY cookbook description it says that you may need assistance with scene setup in v5.x, so I am assuming that it is pretty different from v4.x. I can manipulate my scenes fairly well right now, but I am not a hard core programmer. There is always a risk of things getting mucked up when upgrading, so just wondering if there are any benefits for someone at my medium level of programming. Edited November 24, 2023 by Gator88
mmb Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 (edited) My Dad is content with his ISY on 4.7.5. His setup is pretty small and his automation needs are pretty basic - about 10 different programs to make life easier. I'll leave it alone. My setup is much more complex - 30 or so programs, PG3 MQTT, REST python servers , Z-Wave, Zigbee. Polisy on 5.7 is great. Edited November 24, 2023 by mmb

Everything 5.0 brings will make things more complex, especially at this point since you'd need to upgrade your controller to take full advantage of the capabilities
