I have been experimenting with streaming radio stations using the eisy. Radio station URLs that end in .mp3 work just fine but the 2 stations I am particularly interested in streaming have URLs ending in .m3u8 and .m3u

The station ending in .m3u8 will play for a couple of seconds and then go silent, if I leave it for 30 or 40 minutes it may start playing. The station ending in .m3u will not play at all.

Any suggestions?

The station in question are:

http://noasrv.caster.fm:10188/live.m3u

Thanks for any help offered.

@PHope,

Very strange. This said, I think I know the issue: these streams are generated by VLC player. We'll take a look.

With kind regards,
Michel

Many thanks, Michel. I know these are HLP streams, definitely playable by VLC.

@PHope,

I used the actual VLC program (with UI) on eisy and it does the same exact thing. http://live is not secure, so it will not be opened. cbcradiolive is reporting 30 second length.

It might be FreeBSD specific issue but I doubt it.

With kind regards,

Michel
