voice (amazon) not working...

OK, I have run out of ideas and memory cells. I set up my somewhat extensive system 8 or 9 years ago with +/- 100 devices, voice commands, programs and such. Its an ISY994iZW/IR Pro. I week or so things went south and I eventually installed my new back up  PLM. I now have communication with the devices but hte amazon voice control does not work. Echo's acknowledge the command but nothing happens. The 'hard coded' scenes (programed to a physical button) work fine so it seems like its just hte echo voice interface. My memory on that stuff has aged out - any pointers?

I just discovered that I'm having the same problem. When I log into the portal, and click on Select Tool / Connectivity / Amazon Echo, I get a message saying "ISY is not online". The ISY is working fine with all other functions (lighting control), bu not through Alexa. I suspect this is a portal issue, and hope UD gets that straightened out ASAP.

If the echo issue has been going on since you replaced the PLM please make sure that your Portal license is still active.

Log into the portal check if the ISY is "online" (green dot/circle). If it is then choose "Select Tools" -> Information -> ISY Portal Access License -> License Active

If the ISY is online and your portal license is active it's possible there is a portal outage. Since @abrayshaw is having a similar issue and the portal is saying the ISY is offline it's possible there are connection issues. I just checked my connection remotely and it appears on. I can command devices remotely using the Alexa app on my phone so it does appear to be working as long as your device has an active portal license and connected to the portal.

I discovered the ISY mobile app added disables to the Alexa / portal account connection and it defaulted to disabled.

Look in the mobile app and see if it needs to be re-enabled.

In my attempts to troubleshoot my loss of Alexa control, I opened the UD app on my phone, which reported that Izzy was not connected to the internet! So, I dug into the troubleshooting on the Wiki, and found a tip suggesting I take it off a static IP (which had worked for years), and set it back to DHCP. So, I did that, and that resulted in being unable to access it at all.

So, I manually rebooted it (ie, power cycled it), redownloaded a new Iox launcher (as suggested in the Wiki), and that finally got me back into the admin console. So far, so good. I then looked at the UD app on my phone, and the "no connection" message was gone, and I could control lights via the app. And, voice control via Alexa was again working. Yippee!

I have no idea which of my steps resulted in getting things back to normal, but I won't argue with sucess.

However..... I have a new question. When I go back into the Admin Console, click on Help / About, the About screen shows "Internet access: Disabled".  I frankly don't know if it used to show this in the past, although I'm pretty sure that would have set of alarm bells in my head if I had seen "disabled". Also, clicking on File / Enable internet access results in an error message "Failed Enabling Internet Access". So, is this referring to some other aspect of internet access, and if so, what the heck is it?

Thanks

This is normal and default. Don't try to change it.

tried all sorts of stuff....no joy.

updated firmware, disable / enabled Alexa skill.

Currently I can turn devices on and off via the mobile Alexa so there is some communications. but if I try a voice command for aa scene all i get is 'OK' from the echo device but no action from the scene. voice commands for the specific device do function. so its a voice scene command only that's flakey. seems to rule out Alexa and point to something in the ISY world.

New round of suggestions?

Is your ISY IP address dictated in the DHCP IP address reservation table in your router?

This sounds a lot like IP address overlap when people attempt to lock down IP addresses other than their router....sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

How does your scene look in the UD Portal for Alexa? I've got a scene that is my hall light switch. It's showing as scene, but under "Alexa Cat." shows as a Device\Light. It works just fine.

I'm not sure if you have it as "Scene" in the "Alexa Cat." and it isn't working that way. Try to change to "Device\Light" and see what happens. Since direct devices work it's either something isn't setup correctly with the scene (i.e. the root controls aren't correct) or something is "wonky" in how Alexa handles a Scene as a category. I only have a few scenes exposed to Alexa and they're all showing a category of Device\Light (since they're mostly just 2 way for halls or stairs with lights are either ends.

The scenes do not work with the UD portal, I can turn individual devices on/off but not scenes. All had been running fine for years until the PLM croaked. I restored the new PLM from the old file.

if i run a scene test on the admin console i get this:
