Cannot log into ISY Portal -- error 429

Wife just called from upstairs: “the lights aren’t responding!” Perhaps having all ISY services go down is a way to bring users together (here) for a New Year’s party? Happy New Year! 😀

Alexa account suddenly unlinked. Trying to relink it or even log into ISY portal fails with HTTP 429 (too many requests). Seems to be something triggered as the year changed to 2025.

Okay… now hopefully someone is up late and still sober enough to get things working again. 😉

I’m not sure if this is just a system glitch (it seems coincidental as far as timing) or if it’s just me but when I ask Alexa to trigger an EISY lighting scene (or anything EISY) it tells me

”the skill linked with ____ is not enabled. Please enable the skill to control this device.’

Portal's http service is down and that will affect lots.

Yup, the portal is down.  Hopefully someone will see it soon and get it fixed up.  No Alexa.  😭  😉

I am also having problems with ISY994i and Alexa:

1) Voice commands on Alexa don’t work because, as Alexa kindly tells me, the skill isn’t linked.

2) Error message on Alexa app:

The link between accounts has expired. To continue using ISY Optimized for Smart Home V3 with Alexa, click Enable to Use and link your accounts again.

 3) Cannot login to my.isy.io - returns HTTP error 429.

I don’t have ISY994 logs handy but the Alexa app alert for the connection link appeared on my phone at 2125h (Pacific).

ah.  thanks mmb.  Makes sense

how can you know for sure that it is down other than Alexa giving you the message?

Try to login to the portal and you get HTTP Error 429... Too Many Requests.  Either hammering is going on, or the site is rate limited for some other reason on the server side.  Maybe a contract expired at the end of the year and didn't renew properly or something...  😲
