Poor Z-Wave signals

I was able to revive my EISY by factory resetting everything (EISY, Insteon PLM, ZMatter dongle).  I added a couple of NEW Z-wave 800-series switches, but they are reporting a very poor signal.  EISY is in the same room as the 2 switches (8' away from EISY in open air, certainly less than the required 1-mile range).  I did a 'heal network', but no change.

Any thoughts on how I can improve the signal?  I realize the ZMatter is an older 700-series (shouldn't have this issue though), so I just purchased an 800-series HomeSeer Z-wave dongle to see if it works better, but I really wanted the Zigbee and Matter functionality of ZMatter, the entire reason I purchased it!  Thanks!

I'm curious, where do you see the signal strength report?

I've got the ZMatter dongle and a handful of 700 and 800 series switches (which should all default to 700 series in the absence of an 800 series controller) and don't have any communication issues at all.  The nearest switches are several rooms away from ZMatter.  I can even communicate with an outdoor plug that's in the back yard, inside a block-and-rebar BBQ island.

The switches themselves have a basic LED signal indicator (Green/good, Yellow/fair, Red/poor).

Wellllll, I reformatted EISY AGAIN and installed the HS Z-wave stick, but it looks like that now the EISY only supports the ZMatter module and no other Z-wave sticks.  I gave it my best shot, but it wouldn't detect the z-wave stick until I put the ZMatter back in place.  From the EISY online manual:

  • The ZMatter Z-Wave implementation can only use the ZMatter Z-Wave controller (either board or USB dongle).

@lilyoyo1 thanks for posting that link. I knew there was a thread with the information somewhere. However, reading through that seems one user had an issue and a different command was needed (never posted that information). I still think a support ticket might be the best way to get it done "correctly"/accurately since IoX (and other underlying information) might have changed in the last 2 years.

What is this device? Zooz 700 series USB stick or something else? Only the Zooz 700 series or the Zmatter dongle is supported.

That's the only one with official support. Other dongles have worked however.

His issue isn't the dongle. His eisy is looking for the zmatter stick which means his dongle won't work regardless of what he's using right now.

This might be the command you're looking for:

To change back to Original Z-Wave do the following:

1) From a browser, go to the following URL:

  http://<your_IP_address>:8080/rest/zmatter/zwave/deactivateZMatterZWave

You should see a "200" in the response

2) Restart IoX
