ellisr63 Posted yesterday at 01:57 AM Posted yesterday at 01:57 AM Do I need the portal to use my ISY994i...if I am only using it for controlling my lights inside my house with no external use? If not how do I get rid of the node so I can use my ISY994i again with my android app? Quote
paulbates Posted yesterday at 03:51 AM Posted yesterday at 03:51 AM If your android app is UDM (Universal Devices Mobile)... then yes, you need to renew your portal subscription 1 Quote
oberkc Posted yesterday at 10:19 AM Posted yesterday at 10:19 AM I thought that UD Mobile could be used without the portal. If used inside the house, on the same wifi network, I did not think it was any more difficult than adding the internal IP address for the ISY in http: settings. Maybe things have changed? 1 Quote
paulbates Posted yesterday at 12:08 PM Posted yesterday at 12:08 PM I guess I thought it was required, I always have had it. We need more info; was it working at some point and stopped? What happened? 1 Quote
ellisr63 Posted yesterday at 12:41 PM Author Posted yesterday at 12:41 PM Is there any other android app that can be used without the portal? Can it be used in Windows 11 without the portal? It makes no sense to need a portal when you are only using it on your own internal network. Quote
Guy Lavoie Posted yesterday at 01:33 PM Posted yesterday at 01:33 PM I'm not sure the portal is needed for local network use of UD Mobile. I have a eisy with portal subscription and a Polisy without, and both devices are accessible when I'm at home, and only the eisy when I'm away. 1 Quote
Techman Posted yesterday at 01:39 PM Posted yesterday at 01:39 PM You can access the ISY in Windows 11 on your LAN using the IoX Launcher. Without the portal you are limited to local access only. To access your ISY remotely requires the Portal subscription. 1 Quote
ellisr63 Posted yesterday at 01:56 PM Author Posted yesterday at 01:56 PM How do I turn off the portal? I just renewed the portal, but do not want to use it, and when it expires again, I can then continue to use it until we sell the house without the portal. Do I revoke the portal? Quote

I just renewed the portal, but do not want to use it If you just renewed the subscription open a support ticket with UD and see if they will refund the purchase and expire the portal now. https://www.universal-devices.com/my-tickets You can use the ISY994 without a portal account and/or active license. If you want to access the device while remote you would need to open ports on your router (not usually advisable for security reasons these days). I'm not 100% sure as I haven't tried it, but you should be able to use UD Mobile locally as long as you have setup local IP connection method. Make sure to remove any portal connection method in the UD Mobile app. 1 Quote
Solution Javi Posted yesterday at 05:09 PM Solution Posted yesterday at 05:09 PM Portal Licenses are tied to the Controller not the account, so you just need to remove the controller from your account (or revoke locally) if you sell. The new owner just needs to add the controller to their account and approve locally. UD Mobile works with local only connections: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=UD_Mobile#Local_Only_and_VPN 2 Quote
ellisr63 Posted yesterday at 05:36 PM Author Posted yesterday at 05:36 PM (edited) Thank you very much, I was able to go into the mobile app, settings, controller, then deselect portal. Then open up local, input ip address with http://ip address, then in next box 80, then admjn for user, and password next. Saved it and synced. It now works like it should. I submitted a ticket for a refund. Keeping my fingers crossed, and thanks to everyone for helping me get it working without the portal. Edited yesterday at 06:06 PM by ellisr63 Quote
