Does polisy get the new UI? I didn't see any mention of that in the Product Release.

I think we are getting left behind. I asked the same question when the HTML UI started to be released.

Near the bottom of the announcement page. It says due to the limited memory space in a Polisy. It is not known if it will be available for that model. Still being evaluated.

Hopefully they can get it working for Polisy owners also.

Michel said it will run on Polisy, but that it may be sluggish because of the RAM size and speed.

I can imagine a bunch of webpage HTML being too big for my 3.1GB of user space left on my polisy box.

Mind you. You never know these days. Code is not very compact anymore.

There better be a BIG trade in offer for the Polisy if they can't make it work or I will be removing all Insteon and completely migrating over to Home Assistant.  Or maybe there is already Insteon support in HA?  And after a quick search there sure is!  https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/insteon/

I do love UD and the support they provide but not having to pay a yearly portal price is certainly appealing as well.  Now if someone would just write an app that would take a UD backup and convert to Node Red or HA.   The biggest thing keeping with UD at this point is the conversion.  And a couple of the plugins that are not available in HA.....yet.

How about just support UD & buy an eisy. I upgraded to Polisy from my 994 when it came out. Then lots of things happened in the world and UD needed to come out with the Eisy. I think they have been extremely gracious in their support. This is not a huge company, the upgrade path is not complicated. @Michael& his team @bmercier & volunteers like @Javi are pretty phenomenal. If you spend anything near what I spend on devices, go pick up an Eisy.
just my opinion & ymmv.

Completely agree with all except just buy one full price.  Polisy owners should get a discount.

I think there is 13% discount code active right now.

IMHO UD is a world class small er company that provides incredible support at low initial costs and very small portal fee. This community is also excellent growing under the tutelage of Michel. The cost of eISY went up with tariffs but is still a great deal for a device that’ll likely last for 5 to 10 years. Get an eISY and keep polisy as a ready spare.

Make sure you read up on this.  There are two ways to get support for Insteon in HA.  The first is with direct support of a PLM.  You probably don't want to go that route.  Device and link management is not very good or easy, apparently.

The better approach uses a ...wait for it... ISY device.  If you're really dead set against giving UDI any money - and for the record, I agree 100% with @sjenkins that there's no better place to spend it - you should consider keeping your Polisy (that's what I have), managing and linking your devices (at a minimum) with it, and adding automations, interactions with other devices, and UI with HA.  Even then, it might make sense to have some automations on the ISY, due to speed and failure mode considerations.

I'd like to hear an official position on the continuing support of Polisy.  Paid about $375 back in 2022 for my Polisy, and it's still running fine.  Since the eISY on the UD store is another $352, that's a lot of money for 3 years of service on the Polisy.  If Polisy can't take newer upgrades, a discount for newer units would be nice.

Have you seen Polisy get sluggish or having any issues?

No sir.

And I've been playing around with it - adding tiles and widgets just for the hell of it.

Thank you.  I am still afraid to upgrade since I have over 1200 devices counting all the Plugin added ones and counting scenes and over 1400 programs and almost 700 network resources.

Anyone else upgraded with a Polisy yet?

I just did the update to my polisy.  It then said I needed to hit "reboot".  I did that, it went offline for a while, came back.  I tried logging in using my portal credentials but that didn't work.  I tried my old credentials, that did work (which shouldn't have).  It then gave me a warning that I needed to reboot.  Which I supposedly just did.  I tried again, it went offline again, and repeat.  And going to polisy.local doesn't bring anything up.

So, obviously somethin didn't work.  Perhaps I need to do a hard restart?  I'm not physically there now to mess with it.

There's no imminent rush to upgrade, so chill and enjoy the serenity in your life for now. The web UI is still very rudimentary and limited at the present time. For example, there's no ability to create/edit programs. Scenes are not there at all. Current Admin Console isn't going away any time soon.

Every time I rebooted my polisy it got worse. Now it won't even boot up. No SSH or IoX access anymore despite replacing the spare SSD from my spare polisy.

I ordered another new SSD to start over again. That is two SSDs tgat destroyed themselves with upgrades this year now.

I am about to give up.

Could you not flash the ssd and restore a backup?

You should get the USB adapter to allow you to restore the SSD from a file.
