Questions After (Auto) Update to IoX v.6.0.0

After what I think was a successful update to 6.0 (I am able to see the status and control devices via the mobile app on my phone.) But I was only able to log into the admin console using my portal ID and password one time (but it didn't show me any of my devices or programs). So I rebooted the EISY, am still able to see and control devices on my phone, but still can't log in to the admin console - I get the same error as AKAPADIA and polo2883 above.

Looks like this upgrade breaks the Home Assistant ISY Integration. Probably because the login is now the Portal Login?

Any ideas? I posted in the Home Assistant forum as well?

Solution is:

Change the credentials used by the ISY Integration.

There is a hidden directory .storage and in that there is a file called core.config_entries. Control+F and search for the ip address of your ISY hub.

I use the "File Editor" add-in in HASS to do this. You may need to tweak the configuration of the file editor to make sure hidden files/folders are not excluded.

cudos to @maxnorth for the solution.

Apparently I am still not up to speed with v.6.0.0. This version requires login (on PC) with portal username and password... this is far more inconvenient than my previous login... but OK. Am I correct I should still be using IoX Finder to locally access my eisy? If so, the links to PG3 in the IoX Finder and in the UD Administrative Console take me to the old https://192.168.xxx.xxx:3000/dashboard NOT the new UI https://eisy.local/pg3/dashboard. I feel I must be doing something WRONG. Any help is appreciated.

Also I'm getting "Notification Notices:" in the new PG3 dashboard. One reads "ERROR: 09/29/2025 13:21:59 See log for: Please verify your portal_api_key value". In another notice for "HolidaysGoogle Notices:" is "Not authenticated or invalid authentication".

Digging deeper into the "HolidaysGoogle Notices:" I get this screen...

I think my issue resolved itself...I found that I had stored 2 different instances of my.isy.io in my password manager - each with a different password. I was able to log in to the Admin console using one of them...

My question now is ' Should I still be using Admin Console or is there something else that I should be using?"

thanks

My question as well!!

This UI is "Bleeding Edge" PAINFUL! But maybe because it's NOT all there yet? I'm not having much luck creating "Tiles".

Should the "Favorites" in my mobile app be synchronizing with 'Tiles" (or something) in the UI?

Congratulations to the UD developers. Today is an exciting day! Sorry the forum $#!T the bed. Glad it's back now.

I did the upgrade. So far so good. Lots to play around with and talk about.

Some initial questions:
1. There doesn't seem to be support for Insteon Scenes in the new web ui. That's fine if that's the case; I assume it's coming. Or, is it there and I'm just not seeing it?
2. How do I log in to the eisy via ssh? The old method root/root no longer works and I have been unsuccessful guessing what will work.
3. Check out the attached video clip. Is this how the dimmer slider is supposed to work? When you click on a position the light does seem to go to that percentage, but the slider springs back up. And we have two values, an 8-bit value and a percentage. It gets weirder when you click the up and down arrows next to the 8-bit numerical value.

Thanks again fellas. I'm looking forward to exploring all of the new possibilities. 👏👏👏👏

Logging in via ssh is the same as before:

ssh admin@eisy.local

In some cases you can/need to use the ip address instead, ex:

ssh admin@192.168.0.199

On the first one I tried, the upgrade seemed to go through, but the version was still 5.9.1 and the OS was still 14.1. So I logged in by ssh and watched the upgrade process (tail -f /tmp/udx.upgrade.log) and relaunched the upgrade in admin console. It was failing due to the filesystem being full. Interesting. using the unix "df" command showed that the zudi/ROOT/default filesystem had 6424805 blocks, and the heading indicated 512 byte blocks, and was full.

Ok, so I sshed into my other Polisy to compare. That one has 25621361 blocks, and the heading is for 1K blocks. Makes a lot more sense for a 32 GB SSD. So I logged into Admin Console on that one, launched the update...and it worked. 6.0.0 in all it's glory! And on a Polisy!

Just a note that I got this resolved. I took the SSD out of the properly working Polisy, made a disk image file with Rufus, and then wrote that image on the SSD of the Polisy with the weird filesystem sizes. Now I have a perfectly working clone, which is ok for test purposes. It's also a great way to make an ultimate backup, when you're about to make a big change like this kind of version upgrade.

Great final thought. Does anyone know if eISY system drive is same as one in Polisy? I bought one of the usb to drive adapters to reimage Polisy a bit ago?

Edit: I added the nvme ssd to eISY. I’m recalling that the script to do that moving everything to it and made 60gb internal a backup drive. Is that true?

I haven't opened up my eisy yet but from reading other information on the eisy, it doesn't have a removeable SSD. There is room for one, but UDI uses the one built in on the motherboard. It would certainly be nice to be able to make the same kind of image backup to a file. Maybe there's an alternate way to do that, or at least a full drive unix cpio backup to a file that can then be copied over the network.

I installed the NVME drive and ran UD script to switch processing over to it. However, I’m not recalling it if fully boots from the drive or if some or all of OS still resides on default drive. I’ve opened a tuck and asked that question.

Alright, think I'm good with the UI but I'll wait until it's developed a bit further, I just don't find it very useful at the moment but the potential is promising.

Still trying to work through the PG3 "Notification Notices:". One reads "ERROR: 09/29/2025 13:21:59 See log for: Please verify your portal_api_key value". Another, "HolidaysGoogle Notices:" states "Not authenticated or invalid authentication". I don't recall seeing these before the v.6 update and both plugins show "connected" and appear to be working.

Digging deeper into the "HolidaysGoogle Notices:" I get this screen...

eisy-ui will eventially replace the Admin Console. But for now it's still beta software and missing many things such as the ability to create/edit programs.

So, use eisy-ui whenever you want, but continue using the admin console for things that are not yet implemented in eisy-ui.

Tiles in eisy-ui are not related to UD Mobile. They are 2 different UIs with different capabilities.

When you click "Add tile", select one or several node, change the "import as", if available on the node, and Go.

If you want to customize tile (Edit an existing tile, Add a custom tile), think of a tile like this:
A tile is usually 1 node, with some widgets. But it can also be multiple nodes, and some widgets from one of the tile nodes. This allows things like a sprinkler tile that combines all your sprinkler nodes.

Anyway this can be avoided? While so many seem to dislike the Java version I find it meets the needs of simple adjustment and easy handling just fine. From what I've seen of the web UI it's "cute" and acceptable, but the current access to admin console is ideal (what we "grew up with") that I don't really see the need to completely do away with it just for a web version. Just my 2 cents. Please keep current system as long as possible!

It's not there yet, this will be eventually added.

This has not changed. It should be admin/admin if you did not change the defaults.

This is not normal.

When you click on it, it sends the command to eisy. But it will always move back if the command does not work - it reflects the current state.

What is this device exactly? Is it using insteon, ZWave? Or is it from a plugin?

The Admin Console is not going away anytime soon. At least, not before eisy-ui is on-par.

Understand these are 2 different UI's but they both share many of the same devices and programs. Just wishful thinking that the favorites in UD Mobile might potentially be sync-able with eisy UI someday.

I'm still working through the "Tile" option. I have a plugin working as a tile but I'm not having much success at adding other nodes, singularly or in combination. Think the UD folks have done a great job at developing this product but it's not working well for me at this time... could be me and/or could be the interface needing further development. Think we both need some work.

Thanks for your input.

I somewhat agree with Geddy. The UI does not yet have the flexibility of the Admin Console but its early in development and non (or few) of us are comfortable with it as yet. I'll keep an open mind and wait to see what potentially develops... I won't miss Java!

Try from the Main Menu - Settings/Reinstall all plugins

Worked for me...

So, use eisy-ui whenever you want, but continue using the admin console for things that are not yet implemented in eisy-ui.

I think you should have included this information along with a list of features that are not yet present in the eisy-ui in the release announcement. I'd also be interested in seeing a time line when each feature will be added (roughly, like maybe in each quarter of the year).

About the only thing I see eisy-ui currently doing is replacing the PG3 main menu and showing nodes and programs.  I'm not really convinced that the way eisy-ui shows nodes is actually an improvement over the way the admin console does.

Also, I wouldn't classify this as beta software. Beta typically means feature complete although not all features may work correctly and there are certainly bugs.  By your own admission, this is not feature complete.

What's there tends to work pretty good.  I like how the variables are displayed and modified.  However, I was a bit shocked that I couldn't even look at programs.

I am looking forward to seeing how this evolves, it does seem to be a good start.
