eisy-ui confusion

Featured Replies

I installed the current updates, 14.3 and the associated eisy-ui. Now, how do I add a tile that controls a program? I see how to add a tile for a node, but most of my interaction with eisy is to kick off some program controlling multiple nodes/lights.

When at home page, adding a tile will only allow me to add a node, not a program. When I click on Home:Programs, I see them but I can only run it now or one of the other 4/5 options that were available in the old AC.

I thought eisy-ui was a replacement for the old java based tool?

Thanks,

Dave

The new UI is a work in progress. It's nowhere near complete.

You are seeing what it can do at the moment, and that's it for now.

It will replace the AC some day - that's the goal - but not for some time.

For now, you can only view/control nodes.

Eventually, scenes, programs & variables will be supported.

It's possible the wording in the update announcement calling the new UI the 'default interface' might be causing some confusion.

I think the by default, they meant the Admin Console login by using portal account and password, and not the eisy-ui interface, which will be become the preferred way once it's all finished. The advantage with logging into Admin Console this way is that you're logged into everything at once: portal, PG3 and Admin.

If you log into admin console using port 8443 like before, no biggie. That's still possible.

I get that, but it's not clear to some.

@Athlon I just want you to know you're the cause of all the fingerprints on my monitor.  I try to get that little bug and then I realize "Oh, it's Athlon!"
