4 hours ago4 hr I've been running my 994i Ver 5.3.2 for a long time. I have a LOT of Insteon modules, scenes and Echo devices programed. Also running portal. I haven't been paying much attention to the move to eisy as so far, my system is still working as intended. Understanding that the 994 series is completely discontinued. I did a quick search but didn't find the answer so my question is, will all my data from my existing ISY import/migrate into a new eisy r2?I just saw the email for the Black Friday sale for the eisy r2 pop up and that started my down the path that my system could be at risk if anything were to happen to my existing 994i. I know I now need to do some research into the difference in the new eisy system and what it does compared to my old 994i system.I've converted all my networking over to Ubiquity UniFi plus Protect plus Talk. Extensive security system, plus extensive Echo devices. Toss in some Ring cameras along with the UniFi cameras. I have all these separate systems that don't talk to each other. I'll be interested to see what the eisy can do but first I need to know that all my programing will import into the eisy.Any help here?
4 hours ago4 hr If moving only Insteon devices, it works well. Zwave adds to complexity. You want to upgrade as the knowledge around isy994 migration is fading.
4 hours ago4 hr Author No Zwave fortunately. I started down the X10 path back when X10 first started. When Insteon started becoming popular I started replacing my X10 devices with Insteon. Was to heavily vested in Insteon to play with Zwave.Looking at the UD Shop one option is for the eisy + installation support. Didn't see that option with the latest eisy r2. Do I need to pay for the installation support to migrate my 994i to the eisy?

You make a back up of the 994 and will restore that to the eisy. The eisy is in a transformational stage to a "next level" release level including web interface to ultimately replace the admin console, lots of new features. Lot's of changes going in that are in-process, not complete. You might consider buying the eisy now and taking advantage of any trade ins and specials, and the look around the forum to see how things go. Some things have changed, like how you log into the admin console. Some upgrade to the new releases easily, some have problmes
4 hours ago4 hr Yes the programming can be imported. The original eisy and eisy r2 are identical as far as UDI software capabilities are concerned. The difference is strictly hardware, with marginal performance improvements in speed, and lower power consumption. Installation support is optional, if you are otherwise not interested in doing it yourself. That vast majority of us do it ourselves, and the forum is a great resource for this.As for what the eisy brings you over the isy994i in terms of further integration of your other non Insteon devices, the best thing would be to look at the list of plugins available and see if any of them apply to what you want to do. Otherwise, just ask here with specific questions.
3 hours ago3 hr Author Just did the pre-order for the eisy r2 plus cable for my PLM. Now it has my curiosity how it's going to do with all my existing stuff.Would be nice but not seeing that it will talk to my security system, still looks like ELK only. Have Ademco Vista 20p with updated prom chip and ethernet-cellular communication. Had to upgrade as I wanted to cut the POTS lines and move to VOIPWife originally gave me lots of crap when I bought the first Echo Show for the kitchen and it was all about me and my gadgets. Now she uses it constantly for recipes and shopping list. Talks to it a lot. Has her shopping list on her phone while at the store. Yes, I am a tech junkie
3 hours ago3 hr There is a Node server that you can load on PG3X on the eIsy to make it control the vista 20 panel Called Envisalink-HW you add the Envisalink module to the panel and it acts like a keypad.
1 hour ago1 hr Author Thank you! Did not know about this. Already downloaded the installation manual and digging in.
