Socket Timeout Error

Featured Replies

Since 6.0.3 I am getting a lot of socket timeout errors when the admin console is up and I also get one if I reboot the IoX from the admin console. Are other people seeing the same? Thank you!

Does it happen on loading admin console or if you leave admin console open for an extended period of time?

AC is not intended to be left open 24/7 and it has often been suggested (by other users) to close admin console when not in use. Unless there is a reason to have it open (for troubleshooting) then it's best to only run when adjustments are needed.

If you are needing to reboot often then you might have other issues that should be addresses. It's probable that you should open a support ticket with UD to see if you're having system issues they can help troubleshoot more than users randomly suggesting things on the forums.

No, I'm not having any issues, but again I don't open admin console often and haven't rebooted the device since 6.0.3_3 was installed back on December 5th (for me).

Try this page: https://eisy.local:8443/WEB/sysconfig.txt

What version of IoX does it show? (please give actual and full numbers shown)

I just finishing upgrading and am also receiving the socket timeout error. The upgrade seemed to complete correctly, but after the reboot, I had trouble restarting PG3, but eventually got it to start. In addition, when I use the UDM interface on my iphone, when I try to synchronize to the EISY, it starts, gets to the programs step, starts the next phase and stops. It never gets to the end where it displays the number of unused items, where it asks if you want to backup and then delete them. So I am not sure if that functionality has changed or if its not working.

- Fixed warning for upgrade to 14.x <br/>

I have seen this before. Try rebooting eisy and make sure everything is up and running before synchronizing UD Mobile.

@Geddy

Sometimes on startup but not always. It does always eventually happen if I leave it open and I have always left it open. If it didn't take so long to get into the program editing section I would close it. Even longer now that you have to enter your email as username.

No, didn't notice this until now and the last update I did was Nov 27th. I guess I missed the issue when I did the update.

Mine is a polisy and it says 6.0.3_1

I restarted my modem and my router, then I rebooted my EISY and am still getting the same issue with synchronization. It gets a little past "programs", then bombs out with a message that disappears so quickly, I cannot read it. Then I noticed that my caseta devices weren't working using UDM, so I opened the PG3 server and Admin Console on my mac. I got at least one instance of the socket error on AC while trying to figure out what was happening. I then reloaded the caseta plugin and it started working. I retried the sync and it still didn't work. Any ideas?

Try checking the rest of your plugins to make sure they are started and data is populating in the admin console. I suspect you might have another plugin that didn't properly start - but that is a guess.
