eisy Program doesn't turn scenes on or off now

Featured Replies

First off, what's the appropriate forum for programming with the Administrative Console? Anyway... With my ISY994i I had a program triggered (IF) by a button to trigger the program with a number of "THEN"s to turn off multiple scenes. It worked fine, but now it doesn't. How do you put in "THEN" to turn a scene on or off in one fell swoop? I swear it used to work as you'd expect.

If there isn't a way, a workaround would be to put in "THEN" every single switch and button in the scene, but that's a painful workaround.

@mvgossman please let us know what firmware you are using on the ISY994.

It could be that you updated from 4.x to 5.x and the scenes changed and are not setup correctly to be controlled by the ISY device.

Also, you might want to put a 1-2 second wait between commands (maybe more) so that communication is not over loaded.

Lastly, for easy of assistance the preferred way to post a program to the forums is to right click on the program and select "COPY to Clipboard" then paste as text into your post. This makes it easy if people need to help edit the program by not having to type or describe things that are in an image.

I do not understand how a scene can not be set up properly as an ISY controllable device. For this example, the "Cleats Lamp" scene is controlled by a switch and the sole responder is the lamplinc for that lamp. It works fine when triggered by the controlling device, but when putting the scene as a "THEN" in the program it doesn't work.

I'm running eisy v.6.0.0

Here's that program:

<?xml version="1.0" ?><triggers><d2d><trigger><id>40</id><name>Cleat and Hearth off</name><parent>1</parent><if></if><then><cmd id="DFOF" node="7191"></cmd><cmd id="DOF" node="7191"></cmd></then><else></else><comment></comment></trigger></d2d></triggers>

Is this something that worked and recently broke?

If you click on the scene in the admin console and turn it on does it do what you expected it to do? If so then it should be setup correctly. But there have been issues with scenes being corrupted coming from 4.x to 5.x firmware. Since you mentioned ISY994 in the original post I figured you might be on the older device. Being that you're on eisy and running 6.0.0 (ps that's now outdated and you should update to 6.0.4 for minor fixes by UD) your scenes had probably already been modified.

Thanks for posting, but you didn't use "COPY" you used export. The last option when you right click on the program will be "Copy to Clipboard". That gives a much cleaner and user friendly paste for the program. Since it's a simple program the above screenshot will work for now. It's not a program issue, it's likely a scene issue.

I do not use many scenes so cannot try to describe what you should look for in the scene settings or in the program itself. Perhaps others that are scene gurus can chime in to help.

That program appears to be set up correctly to me. (The two yellow programs below it have something wrong, but this should not matter.). I would right-click on you "cleat and hearth" program, then choose "run then" to confirm that this is the program that is not working. If you follow @Geddy advice and find that turning the scene off directly from the admin panel does not work, then you might restore the affected devices. Failing that, you might consider a new communication problem that may have arisen.
