Hello.

Yesterday we had couple quick power outages and after that none of my z-wave devices respond. Eisy reports that they all are "NOT AWAKE".  Tried many reboots with no change.

Any idea what can I do?

Eisy v. 6.0.5_1

Try removing power from the EISY for about 30 seconds

Make sure that Zwave support is set to on under the configuration tab

I tried 30 sec, tried 10 min. Zwave support is enabled. No difference.

Now by clicking on "Z-Wave" --- "Add Z-wave Device" or "Remove Z-wave Device" does not even open any dialog box in Administrative Console anymore 

It's possible the the power surge may have damaged the Zwave board

Try HEALING NETWORK

If you have a recent zwave backup you can try doing a Zwave restore

Do you have a spare Zwave device you can install to see if the board is still working?

Healing network fails. Have spare devices but by clicking " ADD Z-WAVE DEVICE" doesn't even bring up any dialog box anymore

Probably best to submit a suppport ticket. It could be a hardware or a firmware issue.

Yes I did 7 hours ago, still waiting on reply thought you guys may have some ideas meanwhile.

Well. I can't believe one device can wreck such a havoc. One of my homeseer hs-ws 100+ zwave wall switch failed and it was taking down dongle and whole zwave network. After removing and repairing "damage I caused troubleshooting" everything seems to settle down.

Interesting. How did you determine that it was that one?

I was going one by one locally turning them on and on that one little led on it was blinking and load (fan) didn't work. Removed the switch and rebooted EISY and it all started working. Next it was to find out if it was the switch or the fan in which case load would be under minimum requirement. It was the switch. Very slow and "painful" process.

I had a zwave device fail, impacting the response of many other zwave devices. Unlike you, I did NOT experience the impact to IoX or to the dongle. Mine continued to appear to operate normally. While I have come to understand why a single device failure would affect zwave communications, it makes no sense in my head that it would affect the EISY and admin console operation in the ways you describe. Still, I am glad you got it working again.

I believed this part, it was where the admin drop down boxes quit working that was so different from my experience:

Not at all. I am saying that this was different from my experience and that I have no explanation based upon my understanding and perceptions of how things work with our home automation system.

A single bad device jamming an entire communication system is a rare, worst case scenario. It happens just once in every home automation enthusiast's lifetime to teach him that anything is possible and take nothing for granted. Hehe. Brings back some X10 memories.
