Saturday at 06:21 PM1 day I have some zwave devices (plug ins for light control) on my old ISY system that I'd like to bring to the eISY. My understanding is it's not built in like before I need a "dongle" but is this it?ZMatter USB: Z-Wave+, Zigbee, and Matter Module for eisy (Z-Wave+ Certified - Long Range) - Universal DevicesIt's not in stock and frankly, that price is nuts for something that was built in to the ISYthanks!
Saturday at 06:48 PM1 day If you only need zwave and not zigbee, then you can alternatively get a Zooz zwave dongle (700 or 800 series). The ZMatter price shown on the UDI website isn't the usual price. Seems they put a temporary price like that when it's out of stock. Usual price is $152. Not sure if/when it might be available again. They might be looking for an alternate solution.
Saturday at 06:57 PM1 day Author Thanks for that info. I didn't think it was that high when I was looking at them a year ago.I assume you mean this? ZOOZ ZST39 Z-Wave Long Range USB Stick – ZOOZWhich now leads me to another question that would have come up either way. I have a PLM because of my insteon requirements so with the new eISY I had to get the serial cable which takes up the USB port on the eISY so I only have 2 HDMI ports available (and the RJ45 for if I wasn't using wireless on it). So now I'm stuck or being dumb, could go either way.
Saturday at 07:26 PM1 day Author Unfortunately not the lite version that I got because it was the only thing available in a reasonable time that wasn't wicked expensive
Saturday at 07:36 PM1 day Author Um OK call me a dip$hit, I deserve it. Didn't think to look at the side of the boxOy!And that zooz device looks pretty cheap too which is nice! Edited Saturday at 07:36 PM1 day by watson524
Saturday at 09:37 PM1 day The specs on the eisy lite version shows (1) USC-C, (2) USB 3.0, and (1) USB 2.0 portsThe only possible downside to using a 3rd party Z-wave dongle is that you may not have a backup option. The Zooz Z-800 wave stick is a good optionZooz 800 Series Z-Wave Long Range USB Stick ZST39 LR - The Smartest House
13 hours ago13 hr Just some information. The Z Wave board was an option and not all versions ISY4i had Z Wave as sold but we could add one if we wanted too. Most electronics are now much more expensive. Even big vendors have chanced prices. Even Apple. Data centers are sucking up RAM and causing price changes upward. Edited 13 hours ago13 hr by Brian H
