Hello all,

I am happy to announce the availability of our 3.1.4 release! For a list of changes, please take a look at

this post.

Things to test:

- Irrigation Module -- Help | Purchase Modules | Irrigation Module ... you can use coupon code

irrigation-promo-11 for $15.00 off (total will be $4.00)

- New supported devices

For a discussion of variables, please look at the new Program Variables forum

viewforum.php?f=68

Notes:

1. ISY-26 is no longer included in the firmware builds

2. Due to the sensitive nature of supporting MorningLinc, users now must agree to terms and conditions upon Admin Console start up otherwise the dialog keeps popping up every time the Admin Console is started

3. IMPORTANT If you have already installed a self signed certificate and your current firmware is 2.7.10 and below, you must reinstall a new one before the upgrade:

http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... rtificates

4. IMPORTANT - upgrading from 3.1.3 and below: If you are using WeatherBug Module's Rain Today in your programs, please note that the precision has changed from 1/10 to 1/100 and thus your programs might not run properly

Instructions:

1. Please backup your ISY (File | Backup ISY)

2. Please download the firmware for your platform - please do not unzip

ISY 99i Series: http://www.universal-devices.com/update ... _3.1.4.zip

OR 994i Series: http://www.universal-devices.com/update ... _3.1.4.zip

3. Important (If upgrading from 2.8.5 through 2.8.14)

Due to invalid Java certificate chain, please make sure to remove all Universal Devices certificates from Java:

a. Close all browser sessions

b. Open Java Control Panel (Java Preferences on MAC)

c. Click on the Security tab. Remove all Universal Devices certificates (on MAC, click on the '-' button at the bottom)

e. Clear your Java Cache ( http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... Java_Cache

)

4. Login to the Admin Console and choose Help | Manually Upgrade [the name of your system]

5. Choose the file saved in step 2

MAC users: if upgrade fails, please add https://your.isy.ip.address to ISY Finder (see 3f above)

6. After the upgrade, ISY reboots. Please do ensure to clear your Java Cache:

http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... Java_Cache

7. IMPORTANT Once upgrade is completed and ISY reboots, use any of the following methods to access your ISY's Admin Console:

a. 99i - http://isy/admin - applet (Windows only)

b. 99i - http://isy/admin.jnlp - Java application (Windows only)

Thanks and with kind regards,

Michael,

I purchased the Irrigation module using the Google check out but there was no place to insert the coupon code. So I do believe it was charged at the normal rate of $19.00 USD, and assistance in getting that code to work to receive the module for limited offer would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I tried to purchase the weather bug module as well. But, the system kept crying about too many items with some line code??

wow great on news 3.14 so quick!

Just updated from 3.13. Install of files went smooth as usual. Relaunched Admin consul, I had not cleared java cache, however all launched fine (version of isy showed 3.14). After high level check of consul (not sure if I checked programs tab or not) I went to purchase modules.

I did purchase the Irrigation module via google checkout, noted that the option to apply a discount did not appear until after I logged into my existing google account. Discount did take and total of $4 was reflected on last step. After purchase I did go to manage modules on ISY consul and ISY asked to reboot.

All rebooted fine yet after re launching the admin consul my programs tab was completely blank. Close and reopen of Admin consul showed same. Solved issue by closing all browser windows, going to java control panel, and clearing out the java cache. Subsequent relaunch of Admin consul shows all fine. Just a reminder to us that clearing that cache is an important step.

Thanks for the discount on the Irrigation mod

All is well and the upgrade went very smooth. As always I must thank the entire UDI team for their continued support, updates, and first class customer support.

Also, I did receive a refund for the $15.00 which did not go through with the discount code. Much thanks to all and continue the path of having the best HA controller on the market!

I opened the Administration Panel and all the Current State column was blank.

I closed it and opened it again and it was then filled in.

Maybe a coincidence but the Error Log around the same time had this in it.

Thanks for the new update, Michel. I successfully upgraded from v3.1.3 to v3.1.4. I also purchased the Irrigation/ETo Module – thanks for the discount! After clearing my cache and rebooting the ISY, Help, About shows 3.1.4 is installed, and Help, Purchased Modules shows Irrigation/ETo Module - Installed on 2011-06-27. I also have the WeatherBug Module installed and have been using it for over two years now in several programs.

My Help, About screen shows “–Weather Information (21020)†but does not show any indication that the Irrigation/ETo Module is installed. Also, my Configuration, Climate tab status does not show any of the new Irrigation/ETo parameters as shown in your sneak preview screen shot from a few days ago. Also, Irr/ETo parameters are not available for selection in programs under Module, Climate conditions.

Seems I may have missed something in upgrading to 3.1.4 and adding the Irrigation/ETo Module. Suggestions please on how to enable the new Irrigation/ETo Module parameters.

Thanks.

Hello wrj0,

I think you installed the module before upgrading to 3.1.4. Please do be kind enough to send your uuid to support@universal-devices.com and we'll reactivate it again for you.

Hi Brian, that usually happens if ISY cannot communicate with a client (in this case Admin Console). In some cases, after clearing Java cache, the computer may be too busy starting to run the new code and thus ISY will not get the acks as quickly as it would want. This will cause ISY to expire the subscriptions and thus those errors and lack of device state on the UI.

With kind regards,

Michel

Thanks, Michel. You are correct - the Irr/ETYo module was installed before the upgrade. Per your suggestion, I have submitted a request for reactivation. Once again, I appreciate your help.

Just noticed something slightly strange with recent email communications from programs. I have one program “InstanHot On†that is not set to send any notice which appears to be crossing into notice for my sprinkler program.

upgraded

3.13 on 6/7 around 9am (from 2.8.16)

3.14 on 6/27

have been using these sprinkler programs since 6/1

Noted that the “InstantHot On†program is set to run 5 seconds after the sprinkler program “EZRain2b Drive†program which is picking up its status. I do have another sprinkler program “EZRain1b Front†that ends at 6:00:00, code at bottom just in case that could be part of it.

Also noted that 1st email after the upgrade to 3.13 on 6/9 was ok but others since were not

Email from sprinkler program on the following dates was correct: 6/1,2,3,5,6,7 and 6/9

Hello junkycosmos,

The problem is:

Body: ${alert.event} at ${alert.date} ${alert.time24}

You see, alert.event is the event that caused the program to run. What you want instead (to be consistent with the version without variables) is program.name.

Hello Michel,

Installed 3.1.4 the day it was released - everything went smoothly.

However today I noticed my sprinklers hadn't run. We had rain a couple of days ago so I didn't expect them to run until today.

After looking into the previous day rain programs I created I found that what used to be " If Rain Today 0.1 inches" now was "0.01" inch, and the same for 0.2" now 0.02" and so on up to 1 inch. In 3.1.3 these programs ran fine.

It appears that these values in the programs changed from 1/10 to 1/100 because of the Rain Today enhancements made in 3.1.4?

If so then anyone using rain today values should double check their programs.

Thanks,

Tim

Hello All,

IMPORTANT note on 3.1.4:

If you are using WeatherBug Module's Rain Today in your programs, please note that the precision has changed from 1/10 to 1/100 and thus your programs might not run properly.

Hi Michel

Thx for reply on my template and I follow your easy suggestion for adjustment. However I am still confused as to why the info from an event in a program with no notification (instanthot on) is mixing into event info from a seperate program with notification

(sprinkler 2b).

Indeed I have not touched my templates since pre variables and aprecieate your suggested change but I am curious to fully understand too.

Thanks

Hi junkycosmos,

Apologies for tardy reply. Would you be kind enough to try the following:

Change:

PROGRAM " EZRain2b Drive"

If
From 6:00:05AM
...

To:

PROGRAM " EZRain2b Drive"

If
From 6:00:15AM
...

And, please include Alert.Default Body and Alert.Program Name in the body of your template.

Once you get a notification, please post back.

With kind regards,

Michael -

I'd like to report what (I think) is a bug in 3.1.4 (Beta). I have MobilLinc on my iPad and iPhone. I noticed that since I installed 3.1.4, my scenes are reporting the the wrong status "for all wallpad" devices. I re-intalled MobiLinc on my devices thinking that it had to reinitialize, but no luck. I rebooted the ISY, but no luck. Will try to go back to the previous firmware I had installed before and see if that works.

Michel,

No prob on any delay at all ... I did the two requested changes (program to :15 and template update). Noted I did not change my main template (yet) but rather I used "Copy" button to copy my template, renamed it to MyTemplateSprinklers and then added requested fields. Also updated all of the sprinkler programs to use this template.

Good news, this AM program ran and sent correct notification at correct time.

Interesting though that in the email the ISY is adding a row of dashes that are not in the template.

here is a copy of the email with only from and to addresses changed ..

Hello danswatman

So I still can not find the irrigation module.....
It's not that type of module and you won't see it under the Config tab. Look under Help/About to see if your ETo module was installed.

Then check this link on how to use the irrigation feature this module provides http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/index.php?title=ISY-99i/ISY-26_INSTEON:Auto_Irrigation_Program_v2

4. IMPORTANT - upgrading from 3.1.3 and below: If you are using WeatherBug Module's Rain Today in your programs, please note that the precision has changed from 1/10 to 1/100 and thus your programs might not run properly

Michel,

After upgrading to 3.1.4, my test values for Rain Today parameters changed by value/=10. For example my code in 3.1.3 was:

If
       Module 'Climate' Rain Today >= 0.2 "
And Module 'Climate' Rain Today < 0.5 "

But after the upgrade to 3.1.4 the values were changed to 0.02 and 0.05 respectively.

Yesterday, we finally had some rain, and Weatherbug was reporting 0.32†rain, which agreed with my weather station. However my code to test for 0.2†<= Rain Today < 0.5†evaluated false, but I found testing 0.02†<= Rain Today < 0.05†evaluated true with the actual Rain Today of 0.32â€. Please advise. Thanks.
