Michel Kohanim Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Hello all, I am happy to announce the availability of our 3.1.15 release! For a list of changes, please take a look at this post. This is a minor release which could have major implications: the newer INSTEON devices (such as InLineLine) require the 3rd byte of responder links to be 1. The older devices didn't care about this value and thus ISY set them to 0. The theory is that the older devices do NOT care about this value and thus we are now setting the 3rd byte for all devices to 1. Although we have tested this extensively with existing/old devices, it's strongly recommended you do make sure that adding older devices and moving them into scenes, would continue to work. ELK Integration Module is no longer on sale! Thanks to everyone for helping and making this module a huge success. Important Information 1. ISY-26 is no longer included in the firmware builds 2. Due to the sensitive nature of supporting MorningLinc/ELK Security Systems, users now must agree to terms and conditions upon Admin Console start up otherwise the dialog keeps popping up every time the Admin Console is started 3. Important If you have already installed a self signed certificate and your current firmware is 2.7.10 and below, you must reinstall a new one before the upgrade. 4. Please note that Network Resource modules are now running in their own task. This might have some ramifications as calling network resources from programs no longer waits for the resource to complete. As such, a) you will experience quicker handling of network resources/programs and if you are using DSCLinc and WebLinc, your programs may behave a little differently. Please do test your network resources thoroughly 5. Please note that Safari does not support SSL session reuse and thus might take an exorbitant amount of time to communicate with ISY. As such, when using 2048 bit SSL, it's best not to use Safari. 6. If you are using the Irrigation Module and are upgrading from releases prior to 3.1.5, you must edit the programs using Irrigation variables and save the programs again. Irrigation module is no longer on promotion 7. Upgrading from 3.1.3 and below: If you are using WeatherBug Module's Rain Today in your programs, please note that the precision has changed from 1/10 to 1/100 and thus your programs might not run properly 8. For a discussion of variables, please look at our Program Variables forum. Things to test: - Adding devices - Moving devices to scenes - Removing devices from scenes Instructions: 1. Please backup your ISY (File | Backup ISY). If you are backing up a 3.1.6 system, please note that the backups are corrupted. If you have a backup from prior releases, you should be OK 2. Please download the firmware for your platform - please do not unzip ISY 99i Series ISY 994i Series 3. Important (If upgrading from 2.8.5 through 2.8.14) Due to invalid Java certificate chain, please make sure to remove all Universal Devices certificates from Java: a. Close all browser sessions b. Open Java Control Panel (Java Preferences on MAC) c. Click on the Security tab. Remove all Universal Devices certificates (on MAC, click on the '-' button at the bottom) e. Clear your Java Cache 4. Login to the Admin Console and choose Help | Manually Upgrade [the name of your system] 5. Choose the file saved in step 2 MAC users: if upgrade fails, please add https://your.isy.ip.address to ISY Finder (see 3c above) 6. After the upgrade, ISY reboots. Please do ensure to clear your Java Cache 7. IMPORTANT Once upgrade is completed and ISY reboots, use any of the following methods to access your ISY's Admin Console: a. 99/994i - http://isy/admin - applet (Windows only) b. 99/994i - http://isy/admin.jnlp - Java application (Windows only) c. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin - applet d. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin.jnlp - Java application e. http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/3.1.15 - applet f. http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/3.1.15/admin.jnlp - Java application Dashboard - not fully supported - http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/3. ... board.jnlp 8. Please backup your system again Thanks and with kind regards, Michel Quote
garybixler Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Hi I upgraded to 3.1.15 from 3.1.14 and all went well. However I am still seeing the -60 temp in the main zones 1-16 and the -40 on the keypads. However the -60 was cleared on the four expanded zones 17-20. I cleared Java twice and did several Elk Refresh Topologys. Thanks Gary Quote
Brian H Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Installed fine and all my devices are old. Like the original rev 1.3 ApplianceLincs. So I will keep an eye on adding them to My Lighting and into Scenes. Quote
Slalom Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Still an issue with elk common areas although it seems better. When the only thing stopping area 1 from being armed is that area 2 is not armed. Area 1 no longer flashes. It just shows not ready to arm... This is correct. But if I switch the drop down to area 2 to review / arm it. The drop down immediately reverts to area 1. Quote
Teken Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Does this release correct the misworded phrase of *DON* back to *ON*? I ask, because I noted this during a test I performed last night while enrolling a new KPL dimmer. I was under the impression that 3.1.14 had corrected this typo? I will install 3.1.15 and report back if I see this word again during the enrolling process. Teken . . . Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted December 20, 2011 Author Posted December 20, 2011 Hi Teken, It should have been fixed. With kind regards, Michel Quote
aaicontrols Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Just updated to 3.1.15 and my elk temps are still -40 in keypad and -60 in onboard zones. I don't have any zones that are not on board. Quote
Teken Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Is this word DON correct ?? Teken . . . Quote
LeeG Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Yes, DON and DOF are correct for the ISY Log. These records were pulled from a 2.8.16 trace. Sun 10/02/2011 01:59:02 PM : [ 15 9A F9 6] DON 0 Sun 10/02/2011 01:59:03 PM : [ 15 9A F9 6] DOF 0 Quote
Teken Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 LeeG, Thanks for confirming. Teken . . . Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted December 21, 2011 Author Posted December 21, 2011 Hi Jeff, Common areas are still under development. With kind regards, Michel Quote
Guest smontclair Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Is it just me missing something, or do the firmware download links not work? the 99 series redirects to: http://pagesinxt.com/?dn=www.universal-devices.com&flrdr=yes&nxte=zip for me. Quote

LeeG Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 DON for Devine On, DOF for Device Off (my assumption about Device). These messages are ISY annotations following the raw Insteon messages from the device for a button 6 On press followed by a button 6 Off press. Teken noted a change from ON to DON somewhere I do not remember. Think he was wondering if the Event Log file had changed also which it has not. Quote
Brian H Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Nothing works except so far the forums. Even the main UDI web page is a different company. My web browser also gives me a Suspicious Web Site and suggests you get out of there! Quote
LeeG Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 The entire UDI forum access was hacked over night. Several hours ago accessing the UDI forum resulted in an advertisement. Must have been more damage than just the initial forum page. The UDI web site has a completely different look. Quite an impressive new presentation. Quote
Brian H Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 UDI Wiki is also going to the new hacked web site. My Java Applet and Dashboard for 3.1.15 seems to have gotten lost with my fooling around yesterday. Today the site is going to the incorrect place. I can still use the link in my IE to access it. Michel Kohanim Posted December 21, 2011 Author Posted December 21, 2011 Hello everyone, I do apologize for all the trouble accessing our website for which I take full blame: we changed DNS servers for universal-devices to Network Solutions and they decided to include "Under Construction" in the records. This has already been rectified. Again, sincere apologies and please do let us know if you experience further problems. With kind regards, Michel Quote
Brian H Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 I take it has not been corrected yet? I still get the under construction page. While trying to get the java applet and dashboard. Yes I had them and somehow lost them. Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted December 21, 2011 Author Posted December 21, 2011 Hi Brian H, It takes a while for the changes to propagate to all other name servers (approximately 1 hour). Do you use www.universal-devices.com or just universal-devices.com? With kind regards, Michel Quote
junkycosmos Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Was just now trying to use the download link from 1st post of this thread for 3.1.15 on 99i of http://www.universal-devices.com/update ... 3.1.15.zip and it is re-directing to http://pagesinxt.com/?dn=www.universal- ... s&nxte=zip Also noted that if I go to universal-devices.com it redirects to http://www.universal-devices.com which looks to be the under contruction topics page my network solutions. This is all on DNS server 8.8.8.8 (google public one). GLuck with fast recovery. J Quote
Brian H Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 I was using the link for the Java Applet and Dashboard in the top post of this thread. I just downloaded them fresh and they now are OK. Quote
elvisimprsntr Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 I keep getting errors that the ELK WSDK PDF is currupted. http://www.universal-devices.com/develo ... DK-ELK.pdf Quote
gatchel Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Previously there was false reporting of temperatures that were not actual temperature sensors on the elk system. One of them was on my fire zone and the other was on a keypad that does NOT have a built in temperature sensor. Now, those two issues are fixed. Unfortunately the temperature sensor on my front door keypad which was showing a proper temp previously because it actually has a temperature sensor is now showing "--" instead of the temperature.... Is this intended? I found that if you click query temperature it will show the actual temperature at the keypad ( found this by accident) but if you click query temp on the other "keypads" I get the -40 that we had before. Was the reporting actually fixed or was it changed to just not show the temp unless queried? I believe that the M1-KP (and KPB) are the only keypads with a built in temperature sensor. The KP2, KP3, PAS, NAV all are keypads but they don't have temperature sensors. I also have a P212s power supply that is supervised like a keypad but there is no temperature sensor on this device either. Quote
sanders2222 Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 I upgraded from 3.1.14 and at least the status of my Kitchen KPL is reporting correctly with the new version. With the last version, I seemed to be getting a lot of incorrect status on various devices even after a query on the device. I didn't see post from anyone else experiencing this problem though. So I hope that my problem was related to the 'responder links' issue and will disappear with this update. Although I suspect the statuses all report correctly now because my ISY rebooted with the upgrade. We'll see. Fingers crossed and holding my breath, Jim Quote
