Michel Kohanim Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Hello all, I am happy to announce the availability of our 3.1.16 release! For a list of changes, please take a look at this post. This is a minor release to address some program evaluation issues. We are entering final stages of beta testing and hope to have an official release shortly. Your help in testing and identifying bugs is very much appreciated. Things to test: - Program evaluation for suboptimal INSTEON network configurations - Program evaluation for Integer variables including ELK connection - SwitchLinc Timer options Important Information 1. Due to the sensitive nature of supporting MorningLinc/ELK Security Systems, users now must agree to terms and conditions upon Admin Console start up otherwise the dialog keeps popping up every time the Admin Console is started 2. Important If you have already installed a self signed certificate and your current firmware is 2.7.10 and below, you must reinstall a new one before the upgrade. 3. Please note that Network Resource modules are now running in their own task. This might have some ramifications as calling network resources from programs no longer waits for the resource to complete. As such, a) you will experience quicker handling of network resources/programs and if you are using DSCLinc and WebLinc, your programs may behave a little differently. Please do test your network resources thoroughly 4. Please note that Safari does not support SSL session reuse and thus might take an exorbitant amount of time to communicate with ISY. As such, when using 2048 bit SSL, it's best not to use Safari. 5. If you are using the Irrigation Module and are upgrading from releases prior to 3.1.5, you must edit the programs using Irrigation variables and save the programs again. Irrigation module is no longer on promotion 6. Upgrading from 3.1.3 and below: If you are using WeatherBug Module's Rain Today in your programs, please note that the precision has changed from 1/10 to 1/100 and thus your programs might not run properly 7. For a discussion of variables, please look at our Program Variables forum. Instructions: 1. Please backup your ISY (File | Backup ISY). If you are backing up a 3.1.6 system, please note that the backups are corrupted. If you have a backup from prior releases, you should be OK 2. Please download the firmware for your platform - please do not unzip ISY 99i Series ISY 994i Series 3. Important (If upgrading from 2.8.5 through 2.8.14) Due to invalid Java certificate chain, please make sure to remove all Universal Devices certificates from Java: a. Close all browser sessions b. Open Java Control Panel (Java Preferences on MAC) c. Click on the Security tab. Remove all Universal Devices certificates (on MAC, click on the '-' button at the bottom) e. Clear your Java Cache 4. Login to the Admin Console and choose Help | Manually Upgrade [the name of your system] 5. Choose the file saved in step 2 6. After the upgrade, ISY reboots. Please do ensure to clear your Java Cache 7. IMPORTANT Once upgrade is completed and ISY reboots, use any of the following methods to access your ISY's Admin Console: a. 99/994i - http://isy/admin - applet (Windows only) b. 99/994i - http://isy/admin.jnlp - Java application (Windows only) c. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin - applet d. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin.jnlp - Java application e. http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/3.1.16 - applet f. http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/3.1.16/admin.jnlp - Java application Dashboard - not fully supported - http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/3. ... board.jnlp 8. Please backup your system again Thanks and with kind regards, Michel Quote
Brian H Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 In the Programs Tab Next Scheduled Run Time. All the ones using PM times. Show a .. or blank where the PM suffix usually is showing. The ones in the AM do have the AM suffix. My first program just ran for some devices to go On before Dusk. The Last Run Time and Last Finished Time also have a .. suffix and not the PM. Quote
garybixler Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Hi First time an upgrade failed. I am getting the message: 'File Reported Written Size is Invalid' Thanks Gary Using ISY99I Quote
TJF1960 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Brian H, I wonder if it may depend on screen size. Mine show the same thing but if you widen the column PM appears. It may have something to do with letter spacing. In other words all of the PM next scheduled runtimes for me occur on this evening Thu.... where as the AM next scheduled are for Fri.... The F is closer to the left column line than the T is. garybixler, Have you tried re-downloading the update from UDI site? Quote
Brian H Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 After the first program ran. The next Scheduled Run Time now shows a PM. The Last Run Time and Last Finished Time may change to PM tomorrow. They show a .. right now. Quote
garybixler Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Hi TJF1960 I did download several times but am still getting stuck at about 2 - 6%. It is at 'Insteon.Img' Thanks Quote
LeeG Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 garybixler What size is the downloaded file? I think this was noted by someone else on an earlier image and it was a router/AV blocking the ISY access to the downloaded image. Or maybe now that I think about it one of the browsers was automatically unzipping the file which the ISY is not expecting. Is there still one large ZIP file? Quote
gfridland Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Update installed fine...took an exceptionally long time to complete the initial query, but all seems to be working well at the moment. Thanks UDI! Quote
LeeG Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Brian I see the same thing, .. because the default column width is not wide enough to display Thur 2011/12/29 xx.xx.xx PM. When I widen the column the PM displays. Quote
garybixler Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Hi Lee Windows 7 using Internet Explorer 8. Also file shows zipped. Quote
apostolakisl Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Installed like clockwork. I see no problems. I did not experience anything out of the usual on the first query time nor do I have any problems with the program summary page display. Look forward to seeing if it those ACK issues stop giving me headaches. Quote
k7zpj Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Installed with no issues. All columns of the program summary were displayed properly on a high res display. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
apostolakisl Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 First try at trying to screw up the "ACK" situation. I ran the "if off and switched off" program from one of my switches about 25 times without a single error. I re-enabled all of the programs that work that way so we shall see. At this point, it is really the "wife test" as she will certainly inform me when/if it screws up. Quote
Brian H Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 I am running 1280x1024 full width. Can't go any bigger and 3.1.15 didn't have that problem. Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted December 29, 2011 Author Posted December 29, 2011 Hello garybixler, Try https and if it fails please contact our tech support and we'll try to do it remotely. With kind regards, Michel Quote
garybixler Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Hi Michel All is OK now. I reinstalled 3.1.15 and then upgraded to 3.1.16. All went well. Thanks Gary Quote
Teken Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 How does one test and verify the new SwitchLinc Timer functions? Is this regarding that switch *bit* discussed in another thread? Teken . . . Quote
Slalom Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Elk Common Area Issues still exist in 3.1.16 Quote
andyf0 Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 I upgraded to .16 yesterday. Now when I try to view my log in Excel, Excel generates an exception error. This is on an iMac running Lion with Office 2011. I cleared the log and generated just a couple entries in the log and it still does the same thing. Honestly, this may have been there in a previous version, I don't check the logs that often but it was working previously the last time I checked. Quote
dgm0522 Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Has anybody had issues with 3.1.15 or 3.1.16 not detecting switches being turned on? I have a bunch of programs that do something when the ISY detects a switch is turned on. At first I thought it was a bad switch or PLM, but when I looked the programs none of them have ever ran since I upgraded. And I have a bunch of them. As an example: My kids leave the bathroom light on all the time so I have a program that detects the light was turned on and will then turn it off 45 minute later. Method to trap: Control 'Kids Bathroom / Kids Bathroom:Light' is switched on After messing with it for over a week, I reverted back to 2.8.16 and everything works properly again. Any ideas? Bug? Thanks... Quote
