boatfevor
Hello, Looking for a little help setting up a command to turn on my Denon audio receiver via the ISY. It is the CI version and can take IP codes via rule. What I would like to know is can I set a KPL to turn on the receiver and change the input to itunes to play music in the house. I tried to copy the irule codes to the network mod and tried every which way to get it to work. Now I am stuck asking anyone if they have any suggestions. Thank you for your time in advance. Michel Kohanim
Hi boatfevor, You do need the Network Module. Once you have that, please take a look at: viewtopic.php?f=26&t=6263 And, examples in http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... _Resources With kind regards, Michel Link to comment
boatfevor
Thanks for your info. I went to your topic and found that the link in that topic no longer worked. Can you point me in another direction? Thanks? Corey Link to comment
Michel Kohanim
Hi Corey, I tried a google search and could not find any references to Denon APIs anywhere. I am so very sorry. With kind regards, Michel Link to comment
Xathros
Corey- What I would do is use WireShark on a MAC or PC to sniff the traffic coming from rule to the receiver. As long as the connection from rule to the receiver is not encrypted (https), you can examine the content of that conversation and build your network resource from that. -Xathros Link to comment
alx9r
boatfevor/xathros/Michel - There is indeed a documented official control protocol for the Denon AVRs. I have documented how to use it to control Denon receivers with the ISY994i in this topic. I think you'll find it easier, more general, and more reliable than reverse engineering the HTTP POSTs using wireshark. Link to comment
