Isy Finder

Featured Replies

New Install, When I start Admin Console, I get 'ISY FINDER'. I click add and enter ISY address and it creates an icon on the desktop. After I close ans start again, it comes back again....not sure why? How do I get it to stop?

Also, the icon it creates has a target a mile long with a reference to Java 6 and I have Java 7 installed....

Some things just don't look right.

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

I am not sure what you mean by getting it to stop. What are you trying to stop?

What happens if you go to http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/3.3.8 ... this uses the applet. I want to see whether or not the applet finds ISY.

And, finally, we used to require 1.6 (1.6+) but have moved to 1.7 in 3.3.8. If you wish, you can upgrade to 3.3.8.

With kind regards,

Michel

Stop, meaning get the isy finder pop up box to stop opening every time I open the admin console.

I flashed to 3.3.8 then used the link listed under step d as recommended in the post. It creates an icon on the desktop and when used opens the isy finder popup box and admin console. Of interest it lists firmware as 3.3.8 and console as 3.2.6 under help | about.

Also, I tried creating a shortcut with "http://isy.universal-devices.com/99i/3.3.8/admin.jnlp" and when used it also gets the ISY finder pop up box, admin console and ALSO open Internet Explorer view and track your downloads box.

Right now I am using the automatically generated icon with properties "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\javaws.exe -localfile -J-Djnlp.application.href=http://192.168.3.66/admin.jnlp "C:\Users\John\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0\60\2cee973c-4ec43382" and it seems to work. No pop up isy finder and firmware and console both say 3.3.8, BUT the icon regenerates and goes in the bottom left corner of screen every time I launch.

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

You are not using the correct UI files.

Please note that there's a Java security issue (viewtopic.php?f=44&t=10409) and I strongly advise you to use the application (ISY Finder). As annoying as it might seem to you, it's currently the safest method.

With kind regards,

Michel

OK, it took a bit of research, But I got Java disabled in my browser, ended up having to edit the registry.

The second link in you other post needs a i after the 99 to work.

So do I just leave the ISY finder box open while I am in Admin? It has a line with my isy address in there already, so I assume I don't need to add. Should I just cancle it?

Now Firmware shows 3.3.8 and UI shows 3.3.9

Here is the link I show now for my desktop icon....

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\javaws.exe -localfile -J-Djnlp.application.href=http://isy.universal-devices.com/99i/3.3.9/admin.jnlp "C:\Users\John\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0\42\754abf6a-7da699e1"

Thanks,

John
