ISY994

I recently installed a new ISY994i at my cottage. My ISP changes my IP address often (daily or more!). I noticed that when I check the ISY (Help -> About-> Internet Access) the address is not updated! Why would this not happen automatically? Am I correct in assuming that if the ISY has not updated the IP address then accessing the ISY remotely would not work? Edit: I'm using Firmware v.4.2.18

Will the ISY be updated to support HomeKit? I'm trying to decide if I want to stick with my ISY or sale it off and get the new Insteon hub. What I love about the ISY is the advanced programming abilities... But at the same time I'm getting really fed up with the Java user interface. Java is outdated and insecure... It seems like every time I want to login to my ISY I have to update Java and jump through tons of hoops. I also really want use of HomeKit. How about Nest! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm no longer able to access my ISY-994i's blue ajax interface in Chrome; it gives me the following error (http://screencast.com/t/xAsOLRKuiZyt), with no way to ignore it. Previously I got an invalid certificate error, but was able to "proceed anyway." I had at one point attempted to rectify the invalid certificate error entirely by generating a certificate from a CA authority & installing it on the ISY - but the ISY turns out to be far too slow to use anything above 512-bit, and the authority does not issue anything worse than 2048. All, just got this today, linking was super easy however I only see on/off/query commands. From the website it looks like there are different tones available and LED colors, this does not seem to come up. The only spot were I do see some options are when I right click on the device and select config parameters, there is a list but do not know what they mean. Anyone have experience with this device ?

I can't get into my console anymore from another location. What is going on this time? It says Socket open failed javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: server chose SSLv3 but protocol version is not enabled or supported by the client. Then it goes to error. I have one X10 device left. It is a 220V switch to control my pol pump. I changed it today and it will respond to the X10 Controls from an X10 controller, but not form the ISY, independent of what address I give it. I have the X10 module for isy, but even trying to send X10 signals seems not to work. any ideas?

I'm hoping someone can confirm that I've got a bad PLM. When locally switched, none of my 20+ devices broadcast the change. Level 3 event viewer shows zero activity (other than motion detector traffic). However, when manually queried in the Admin Console, all the devices update and show the correct state. All devices work properly when controlled directly from the ISY, linked devices (responders/controllers) work, and all programs work fine. I've got multiple Access Points with solid green lights. I bought a small UPS thinking I would use it for my modem, router, switch and ISY (using a filter of course) then I started thinking....I've read people saying you want to power up the PLM before the ISY otherwise there usually are problems. If I put the ISY on the UPS then during a power failure the ISY would stay on but the PLM wouldn't as it's plugged directly into the outlet on the wall. When power returns the PLM would be powering up after the ISY. Should I put the ISY on the UPS or just leave it off to prevent the out of sequence powering up? Also, is it ok to plug the PLM into the non-filtered outlet on the filter or is there some signal loss doing it thi…

When the ISY program is exported, it is converted to XML. Is there is schema/format definition available so that I can see all possibilities? I am building a parser that converts the XML into a control flow graph and currently I'm working off example programs but it would be very helpful If I got a document detailing the possibilities in the XML format. -earlence

Since upgrading to the ISY 994 my Garage Door Status Kit hasn't been preforming the way I would like it to. Equipment: ISY 994i PRO (2) Seco-Larm SM-226L w/ I/O Linc MobileLinc PRO for IOS Keypad Linc to control garage and monitor status. I prefer the Keypad Linc to show LED On when door is open. Plain old craftsman garage door controllers in the car Goal: A scene to control my garage door that also report's status. Scene is off when door is closed and scene is on when door is opened. That way in MobileLinc you get visual feedback by looking at the scene as to whether the garage door is opened or closed. I had this working flawlessly with my ISY 99i. …

Is hey ISY capable of monitoring outside temperature? I currently have the weather module but I live in a rural area and the closest weather station is 30 minutes away. Sometimes the temperature can be as far as 10 degrees Celsius off from my local temp. Is there any kind of sensor set-up that I can link to the ISY that will actually monitor a variable temperature sensor? All I can find is threshold sensors with an input output device. Another option I saw while forum trolling is using a wireless thermostat. Only downside is it says its operating temp starts at 3 degrees. Hi all! I'm looking for a wall-mounted remote to be used for the purpose of shutting off a number of lights I have set to go on when we're out in the evening. Ideally, I'd like to be able to activate this program with the switch, so for example, we can just start the program when we're leaving instead of at sundown or whatever. Any recommendations? Hey everyone, Tried an experiment using my Synology SS and actions. I wanted a cameras motion to trigger the ISY to turn on a light. Using the URL: https://USER:PASSWORD@192.168.1.150/rest/nodes/2A%209E%205%201/cmd/DFON in Safari and it works. Light comes on. However, using that URL in the Synology action it "Fails" (no explanation of course) I have tried moving the user name and password into the fields and still no luck. Any ideas? I know that the ISY programs are represented in XML when exported. I was wondering whether any ISY developers know what the internal representation of program code is? It must be translated to some machine code or byte code that's executed on a virtual machine inside the ISY. The reason I ask is because I'm trying to build a code analysis tool that should be helpful for debugging. -Earlence

Hi I am trying to figure out how popular the ISY-* devices are in terms of market share or the number of devices sold till date. Does anyone have any numbers like this? Also, how many apps on various marketplaces exist that use the developer API to remotely interface with the ISY? Is there some central directory? I am trying to start up my new ISY994zw PRO for Z-wave only. I do not have or want a PLM. In the admin console, I receive an alert that I am in safe mode, because there is no PLM. I am assuming that the lack of PLM is preventing the ISY from Reading the list of existing Z-wave devices from my Simon XT2. I am stuck, so any help would help. I have searched the UD forums looking for suggestions.

I recently purchased a bunch of leak sensors. Some are v41 and others are v43. I understand the v43 sensors. I place the leads in water and the Wet node changes to On. I don't understand the v41 sensors. I can't seem to get the Wet node to activate when placing the leads in water. What am I missing here?

I want to be able to control the on/off of both my air compressor and shop vac and wondered which insteon device I can put between the plug and the outlet without incident. I've tried hard to find a way to add my Dlink DCS-825L baby cam to my ISY without sucess. Today I found an interesting forum where people discovered many hidden secrets on my camera model. So I tried again and now I was able to add a DLINK camera, anyone that have jpeg available even when user and password is needed. To do that, just add a new camera, search for the camera link for jpeg.cgi or anything else here "http://www.ispyconnect.com/man.aspx?n=D-Link" and configure your camera as Axix (Generic). on my case I used: mycamera_IP/image/jpeg.cgi User: my_user Pass: my_pass Cheers Sandry Seibert
