So, I gather you still had limited access the transformer hence why you were able to connect the I/O Linc to the unit correct?
-
The builder installed the actual door bell chime (ding / dong) module in the basement?? You're not talking about the transformer correct?

To add some clarity to this question the current Zigbee protocol only interacts with energy monitors, and specific TSTATS. UDI does not currently support the home automation aspect or any other at the moment. Perhaps one day it will because it would open the door to new sales given the proper device support such as these bulbs.

Here is a better example of how its phrased from my archive:

Hello Drew, If the unit is under the two year warranty obtain a RMA from AARTech.

The system will indicate the official release that is available for install and never a Beta version. You may install the latest 4.3.10 RC5 build with out issue or worry and this will provide new Insteon hardware support and resolve many past bugs. Every time (Now) you install the new Admin Console it will delete the older version from the desktop. You can simply create a new desktop icon which should have been done automatically or placed somewhere else on your Mac. With respect to the certificate and its setting up this would be best done with the assistance of UDI Support. NOTE: Please follow all guidelines with respect to the updating process for firmware. Failure to do so will result in random errors or access issues.
-
I believe the next step and best option moving forward is to submit a ticket so UDI Support can resolve this quickly for you. You may submit a service request following this resource link: http://www.universal-devices.com/contact-support/ Once they assist you to gain portal access you will need to update that controller to the latest Beta build which is 4.3.10 RC5. This will allow you to have better support for devices and speeds up encryption processing for higher levels of certificate strengths.
-
I believe the issue you're seeing is a certificate issue. Because SSL was dropped due to a vulnerability with the Poodle hack. You can read about this and what to do in the release notes published by UDI. In the interim to access the cottage unit in the finder. Simply double tap the IP address in the finder this will launch the admin console. Upon gaining access you need to upgrade that unit so the correct TLS encryption will be supported moving forward. If you select the correct link for the Beta you're using once you download and open the file it will place a icon called ISY994 Administrative Console. Selecting this icon will launch the ISY Finder . . . You will simply enter the Public IP / Local IP of your choice and it will launch the Admin Console for you.

I believe that was normally seen in the Chrome browser as they *Google* disabled Java support. Which can be enabled again until complete support for Java is withdrawn. You can simply use the other Java application launcher which does not rely on the browser to be launched.

Scott, I saw this device last year and it was one of the possible solutions on my radar. Unfortunately the Canadian dollar is seriously in the toilet and with shipping, exchange the package deal exceeds well over $100.00 USD. We are currently $0.70 to the U.S Dollar never mind British Pound which is $1 GBP equals $2.04 CDN. Shipping was stated at the time $25.00 GBP which doesn't make sense for one sensor when I need 4-6 of them. I would lose my shorts after duties and tax's . . .

The system will try to write to each battery device and fail. Following the guide will allow you to speed up and update one battery operated device at your own pace. Ideals are peaceful - History is violent

If you're going to use UTP cable use CAT6 because it's thicker than CAT5e cable. Also do not use CCA cable because it's not in wall rated and not NEC approved. Better yet use 22-4 alarm wire as its thicker but does not offer the extra pairs should you wish to star off from another junction point. Ideals are peaceful - History is violent

Unfortunately the only solution for that is re-flash or hard reset! And no, a six pack of Budweiser is not going to hard reset you. But, its safe to say you might have a few flashes. Ha . . .

Great work on tracking it on the chart makes a lot more sense and much easier to see the end results. Keep in mind as stated earlier on just because a device does not flash does not by default mean its on the opposite phase. It could also mean the RF signal has not reached the end device. This is why the newly dual LED makes this whole process much easier on the end users.
-
It should be noted all the coupling / bridging in the world will NOT address noise related issues. Also, keep in mind any dual band device installed into a metal J Box will reduce its RF capabilities. This reduction can be as short as six inches to what ever distance. This is why plugin devices such as the Range Extender (Access Points) Lamp Linc, On-Off Modules, are so great. You can simply move them until RF reception is better and also gives you the ability to find a outlet that allows you to bridge the two sides of the single split phase electrical system with in your home.

The file will need to be less than 2 MB. Select the *More Reply Options* next to the (Post) button and select choose file, than select attach this file.

Just to clarify the Autelis Bridge does not officially support the DS2438 chipset. But Autelis has updated the firmware to allow it to be used and it has been reported by several users that it operates just fine. Once the Canadian dollar is out of the toilet I plan on purchasing 4-6 of the humidity sensors for my home. My ultimate goal is to get as much *accurate* and local data from my sensing grid to help automate the homes active / passive cooling systems. Having more conditional logic on hand will help fine tune many programs and how the Insteon network operates. I've personally pushed the envelope of energy conservation to the limits within my home. The next step for me is complete and total environmental control that has enough real world logic and feed back. I haven't had one moment of regret going the route of 1 wire versus some kind of battery operated device. The reality is unless the battery operated device is purpose built and exceeds $100.00 you will not see any true accuracy for humidity / temperature. As others stated some just need a general idea whereas for me reliability, accuracy, and long term costs was the goal.

Hello Drew, Yes, and when doing so there should be a pop up which shows the system is making the updates. Please let us know how you carry on and what the results are. Have you considered any type of surge protection in the home?

That's why its called experience! Ha . . .

I can't speak to how far the RPi and Web Control Boards go in terms of over all feet. But lots of forum threads indicate most of them don't go past 20-30 feet very well and that's only with a 1-8 sensors in place! I have 32 sensors exceeding one mile in my network and thus far haven't seen any issues at all. Besides a couple failed 1 wire sensors which I can't really cry about since they only cost me $1.25 a piece. Ultimately when all of the sensors arrive from China my 1 Wire network will support 72 sensors in the grid. Good luck . . .

I believe he went with your 2420, there are no 1 Wire sensors that start with that value and the most common are the ones you referenced which are DS18B20.
