  1. This might also be a good time to create a state variable and link it to a voice command to Alexa. That would save on the whole pressing a button but that doesn't address who is up vs who isn't. This is kind of like those who have 9999999999999 heating and cooling scenarios, really?!? The basic 7 day set back TSTAT has been in use for more than 15 years . . . There isn't a need for 99999999999999 heating and cooling scenarios - That's simply a want. Regardless, unlike a few higher end vehicles which have dual climate control of the HVAC and seat warmer. There is no reasonable way to set a home to ambient temperature with out impacting others in the home. The reality is if you need to fool around with the environmental's to meet comfort levels. I am quite confident to say the problem has nothing to do with home automation vs your home is poorly insulated, leaking like a siv, and does not have enough mass / density to retain the heat / conditioned air. Keeping in mind this assumes a single stage, one zone HVAC. Those with multi zone, multi stage HVAC have more flexibility as to what can be done. But that too is a band aid for a poorly executed HVAC system that doesn't take into account proper heat / cooling calculations and understanding basic thermo dynamics. End of Tangent . . .
  2. Good to hear and circle back with the final outcome for the outlet. Let us know what the ISY indicates as the PLM firmware is which I am sure it will be v9E. But, you never know . . .
  3. Most of what you're asking for requires that one knows what you mean by *Wake Up*? Does wake up mean you literally just got out of bed? Does it mean you are simply in the master bedroom? You really need to narrow down and define that parameter otherwise no amount of technology is going to help you if the ask is unclear. There are currently two crowd funded mattress sensors which is supposed to detect what each person is doing and includes a heater. These products would offer some of the required logic to determine (IF) one or both of you are physically out of bed. Using some conditional logic you would incorporate some gate time for those quick washroom breaks. To aid in the conditional logic would be to use iBeacons which ML supports. Using the iBeacon and setting the power output level you could define in range / out of range with in the home. This of course hinges on everyone physically holding / carrying a iPhone. Which depending on lifestyle is either going to work (read kids) and those literally fixated with holding something in their hands. As Larry noted using motion sensors these could be used to detect movement and be used as a method of fail over and confirmation of the other two pieces of technology. Having said all of this, most of this is an exercise in fixing a problem which doesn't really exist besides - I want.
  4. Hello Ron, Sounds like you're on the home stretch. As noted by Stu bring the plugin lamp linc next to the new 2413S PLM. Also could you please reboot the controller and try again once more. Sometimes after a very long PLM restore the Admin Console will show false readings. Lastly if you could select the help tab and let us know the PLM firmware.
  5. Try port 587 and include the following or similar in the FROM: ISY 994 Series Controller:youremailaddress@gmail.com
  6. Oh thank goodness - The previous upload had me squinting for about five minutes and still couldn't make it all out.
  7. LOL - You have no clue how hard it is to not hit that buy button . . . Canadian dollar is in the toilet, American dollar is on the rise, by the time I get it shipped and exchange rate its going to cost a pretty penny. Having said this I do have lots of American money I banked when the dollar was at par. I believe the prudent thing to do is find out from the OP what he receives because it really has me curious. As 2.1 / 2.2 hardware revisions have shown a few early failures which really surprises me.
  8. Both of you had me running around looking for a computer!
  9. Just to add to Paul's comments the quick and dirty features of the portal are these in no specific order of importance. The portal costs $49.99 for a two year subscription. - Remote access, control, view error / standard logs. - Multi Login - No port forwarding - Network Module - Remote Upgrade - Manage multi controlers - IFTTT, Amazon Echo, support: Soon to come Honeywell TSTAT, Push Bullet?
  10. Maybe the OP has a conflicting firmware / UI?
  11. Given there are quite a few SMD on the little board I would hazard to guess either the transistors are fried or best case there is some bridging / shorting present. Its easier said then done if you don't have a heated air gun / pencil to remove SMD parts. But you could use some Deoxit if you have any on hand if not some isopropyl alcohol and swab components? You have a 50/50 chance it might remove any electrical shorts in the hardware - if its a IC sadly you are SOL.
  12. I will send you the link via PM - I have never had a leak sensor / trigger link ever fail though. I have however repaired the plugin lamp linc / and dual band ones but sadly didn't document that repair process. When I have more time I probably will as I had two of them fail and just waiting for me to repair.
  13. Mark, PM sent to the KPL repair guide . . .
  14. Hello Mark, That is a pretty unique and interesting problem you have listed out. I don't believe many of us have been using that exact setup per say. Normally people take a 6 and convert it to a 8 and no issues are seen. But you received a 8 KPL and converted it into a 6 but like you said the system knows its a 8 vs a 6 KPL. As painful as it may sound the easiest approach would be to change the bad one from 6 to 8. Then see if you can use the replace with from there - which obviously hinges on the fact the bad one will let you? NOTE: If you're interested in repairing the KPL I made an extensive how to for that very purpose. Let me know if your interested and I shall send you the link.
  15. No, but please do let us know what the white sticker says. Once its connected to the ISY Series Controller please do let us know what the firmware is stated as. Would be very curious to know if its different than v9E - Super Curious!
  16. That would be great if someone has time to look up what that API call is and format it correctly into JSON NR that would be greatly appreciated. Really wish I was close to a computer instead of sitting here in the back seat watching snow fall.
  17. Thanks Gary will update the program code and see what happens. On a related note since the OpenElec has been turned off to play files in sequence. Is there a command that can over ride that parameter just one time in a ISY Program then revert back to playing only one vocal file? So this is what happen as I was testing out a few programs to see what the results were. When I linked a KPL button as the scene controller to the activate the vocal program. I had included two separate files and when the button was pressed *Julie US* initially stuttered, stopped, then played the second file? It quickly dawned on me the ISY Series Controller will not wait (pause) but will simply do what it was asked for which is fire off the network resources in sequence regardless of how long the sound file is. Obviously with red face in hand I added a wait in between the two NR's and *Julie US* did in fact play the NR files as expected. My use case is to load some music files into the RPI and have different genres: Dance, Rock, Country, Classical, R&B, Top 40, etc. The problem is I will literally have to add in a wait statement based on how long each song is before the next track is allowed to play. Does anyone have a more elegant way to accomplish this? I'm not home right now so can't test but another possibility was placing those music files in a folder and (IF) there is a JSON command that can over ride the Open Elec play once vs play all that would be the ideal solution. Does that exist?
  18. Information Only: If time isn't a pressing issue you can also try using the *Write Device* option in the programs tab. You have two options for a hands free battery operated update which is based on the heart beat status or detection of movement for the MS. Using this option assumes the battery operated device has the *Heart Beat* node. As older hardware didn't have this new feature . . . Motion Sensors only need you to pass by their field of view and they will auto update to. Also note that this feature highly depends upon your Insteon network having a strong RF mesh to all battery operated devices where ever they may be. Lastly, some firmware in the hardware require you to use a wait from 0-3 seconds. The only device which still requires a physical press of the button are the remotes. Which again if you have the correct *wait* in place when you press any button on the RL2 / Remote Linc they will auto update. Not very much success has ever been seen auto updating the older brick style Remote Lincs however.
  19. Cold Weather - 35'C - [ID 033A][Parent 0335] If Module 'Climate' Temperature is -35 °C And Module 'Climate' Temperature <= -39 °C Then Resource 'Weather Voice - Cold Weather -35' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') I really shouldn't be programming this late at night when I had one too many in my system. My fuzzy brain some how doesn't think this program looks right? Can someone who is sober, sane, and firing on all cylinders look over this simple program for me. This *proof of concept* program is supposed to monitor if the temperatures are from -35'C to -39'C and if so fire off the custom voice announcement I created. For what ever reason the operators don't look quite right.
  20. Thanks for the extra resources but sadly after doing a quick test. The ATT TTS voice is very much 1980 robot talkish which compared to *Julie US* makes it look and sound utter crap.
  21. Hello Kevkmartin, Could you provide a little more insight how this is done showing some image captures of the program(s)? Is this done using Thanatars voice solution or something completely different? Also is this being done using 4.XX vs 5.XX firmware - Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
  22. LMAO . . . I kid you not besides getting Insteon, ISY Series Controller, Brultech GEM & Dash Box. This incredibly powerful, accurate, and flexible TTS voice has truly brought my home to a whole different level! Right now I'm juggling back and forth appending my *Install Thread* with the details of this massive achievement in voice announcement and creating the 200 plus NR's to reflect the 250 plus voice announcements. Merry XMAS and do share some of the vocal phrases you created. I would love to see what others are using for scripted phrases as I believe I covered most of the basic, medium, to some advanced voice phrases. The one problem I ran into is some words just sound wrong when Julie US says them so I had to use the magic of abbreviations and the reverb feature to tame her to sound more human.
  23. As I'm waiting in line at Costco the whole time I'm thinking what if one simple option isn't selected is actually stopping me from succeeding?!? [emoji35] I don't even unload the groceries and just jump out of the car as the GF is wondering WTF is he racing to do?!? [emoji848][emoji853] I fire up that RPi and see exactly one single toggle option not selected! [emoji19] I press and go - bam bobs your uncle!! [emoji847][emoji12] GF is wondering who the hell is talking while I'm screening and running around like a chicken without a head. [emoji41][emoji851] YES - Houston we have a successful lift off !!! [emoji847] Thank You . . . GF says she doesn't feel her XMAS present holds up next to this new feature enhancement to the home! Moving forward I will complete an entire setup guide on how this was all done so it's on one concise location. Daddies got a new toy!!! [emoji851][emoji41][emoji847][emoji854]
  24. There isn't much left to be said here besides using the amazing solution and insight offered here by my dear friend Thanatar:
  25. I'm at the gym right now killing some calories. [emoji35] I'll check those settings and report back what happens upon my return. Thank you again for the continued support and guidance and will document all of these steps for the next guy. [emoji106][emoji4]
