Hello Adam48, Apologies for not being precise - If you have the ISY Series Controller sending to or (receiving) any sort of data from a cloud hosted service or a local network appliance. I want you to disable / disconnect them from the (to) the controller . . . If you absolutely have no inbound / outbound connections leading to the ISY Series Controller. And (ALL) programs are disabled in the program folder would you please unplug the 2413S PLM. Power down the controller and wait about 30 seconds - insert the PLM back, wait 10 seconds, then reapply power to the controller. What are the results? Keeping in mind all program should be in a disabled state.

If you have lots of inbound network device streaming to the ISY Series Controller. A quick test is to unplug all of them and see what happens from there. Keeping in mind you need to hard reboot the controller afterwards to see. If there are no inbound calls / subscriptions being made the next step is to disable *ALL* programs in your system. Once that is done I want you to hard reboot the controller again and reply back what happens . . .

Once a restore modem has been completed any battery operated devices will need to be individually updated one by one. Once that is done you may have to do a restore device(s) which can take several hours to complete. If the pain of going through all of that is too much you can try deleting and adding back each device one at a time. Only you can determine if the investment of time is worth while or not. Regardless, we are here to help if you decide to follow what ever route . . .

Older GDO kits came with a sensor that could be wired to be N.O. vs N.C. Meaning the LED on the unit would reflect the door open (lit) vs closed (unlit). Newer GDO kits have only one contact and this always results in the I/O Linc's LED to show the reverse state. So your choices are to purchase the magnetic contact that offers the reverse behavior. Better yet purchase the correct kit which offers both N.O. & N.C. contacts.

For the benefit of the forum members can you indicate what the sticker on the back notes as the production date and hardware revision. Also, when you receive the new unit can you relay the same along with the firmware level. No problem just remember the 2412S powered the ISY Series Controller so don't use the PSU that's in use now.

If we are talking about the same feature delay / turning off battery writes is only available in the pro version which you can update the controller to obtain said feature. If you are seeing pop up messages on the left hand side are there green 0101 listed in the device tree to the left? If so place one motion sensor into linking mode and right mouse click and select update.

Just to be clear you've reviewed the logs to confirm the outlet is turning off at 3:00 AM? If so are you sure there aren't programs associated with it? If you can't perform the two man hard reset in the interim you can delete the hardware and add it back and see if that cures the problem. Because (IF) it always turns off at 3:00 AM it has to be linked to an associated program / scene. Also, what is the load that's attached to the outlet? Have you removed the load to see if the device behaves fine vs not?

The single band - single outlet relay is no longer being made. As you correctly pointed out its been replaced a much sturdier and better dual band - dual outlet relay. If you wish to trouble shoot the existing outlet you can follow the two man process to reset the device and see what happens.

I have to agree with Techman when life and property are the objective use the right tools. You can get your mom hooked up to a basic system which offers a RF pendent / bracelet while at home. More expansive units have a sim card embedded into the device so it has global reach when out of the home. One press of the button and the alert is sent to whom ever is registered to receive the alert message. Obviously, if she is out and about and has an issue it would fall on those around her / him to offer assistance. More advanced systems offer GPS location but many Canadian cities don't offer such services to the monitoring station. Many offer the end user the ability to log into web portal to see the location but this assumes you are near a terminal etc.

Hello Chris, If you could offer a little bit more insight about this it would be great. As you correctly noted these folders have conditions within them which are just very basic scheduled times: 7:00 AM ~ 10:30 PM. I am trying to narrow down the root cause for this unknown state which makes the folder reflect a teal color. As a lay person one would think if the the scheduled time is correct it would be green. If its not the correct time the folder would be red. The problem I am seeing is at random times the folder will be teal in color even if the time frame is true vs untrue. In most cases the programs within appear to be operating just fine - where as other times when I see this teal color the entire system is unstable and endless java pop up errors are present. I can literally see 20, 50 pop up messages appear in a ten minute session . . . Most times I just acknowledge them and continue what I am doing. Other times these pop up messages forces me to close out the Admin Console because the system is no longer responsive to user input. That can be from saving programs to messages stating an illegal operation has occurred, can't save, system is busy, to cryptic messages about I/O and other random faults. Long story short - I am trying to get my controller ready for the 5.XX Beta release and don't want to add existing issues to a new roll out.

This has been a long time problem where the ISY Series Controller does not support the various software options. [emoji58] This has been seen in the lamp linc, open- close, energy monitor, motion sensor, etc. The open-close sensor lost the two node via the jumper pin many years ago. This feature option must be enabled via software controller. There has been no work tasked to include this basic feature and more than likely never will. If you had HL2 software and the modem you could check to see if these options are present and activate it. Using the little humble RPi there is no need to store anything on the ISY Series Controller. Even though that would be great to see -But in my situation the controller is already maxed out so this isn't something I could do, even if it was. I appreciate all the ideas, solutions, and cross talk on similar methods . . . At this juncture this project is going to be shelved until I complete other more pressing matters. In the next three weeks I shall have my new Beta weather station which will enable me to have hyper local environmentals. Just finishing up the last 45 defined spoken phrases via Julie U.S. for those weather conditions. 2017 is really starting to look awesome with respect to tight integration of home automation of lighting, energy, water, weather, security, and force protection! All via voice control and reactive feedback . . .

Correct, but that doesn't address the primary question what does the teal colored folder mean besides my guess of busy / unknown state. I use the busy / unknown state as my personal example because this is when I have observed this odd behavior. I have to gather you have not seen this otherwise you would have affirmed the same.

Many years ago when the team incorporated colors for folder & programs in the 4.XX firmware branch. I had asked several times what the color teal meant for folders. As of this writing no one has ever replied back as to its true meaning. There were lots of guesses as to what it meant or whether it was just a mechanical fault in the monitor being able to render the colors accurately. This is not a color rendering issue on my monitor, computer, etc. As this same color issue has been seen on dozens of work, personal computers, and tablet devices. Today, I can say there isn't more factual information besides the fact this teal colored look in the folders has to do with the system in a busy / unknown state. I've included a screen capture of the folder being true which is green and the folder in what I call teal colored or off blue / green. If anyone has ever seen this random color in their controllers program folder(s) please do let me know what condition the controller was in, when seen.

Hello, You have two choices one is via the Admin Console: Configuration -> System -> System -> Reboot. This is a soft boot initiated by you from the console. Should you ever see odd behavior where a soft reboot does not cure what ails you a hard reboot can normally solve that. A hard reboot is simply you unplugging the ISY Series Controller from the main power outlet. Wait about ten seconds than reapply main power and let the controller go through its POST and settle down. Then, all should be good . . .

No, but this process is extremely labor intensive and require battery operated devices to be updated later also. Disabling programs takes mere seconds and the cause and effect is seen immediately. You could go through many hours of a restore only to find the same end result.

Hello Joe, First thing to do is disable all programs to see if updating performance increases. If so you need to determine which programs are impacting the system a simple add one at a time will offer this insight. If disabling all programs doesn't increase the read / write to hardware you could perform a restore PLM. Does the tag not have a method to insert wires like the Insteon open close sensor? I gather not otherwise you would have left the unit affixed outside and simply wired a simple contact magnet.
