  1. Just FYI, the Venstar stores it's programming in non-volitile memory so nothing is lost on a power failure and resumes when power is restored. If you care, you'll need to reset the clock, but if controlling via the ISY you really don't care about the thermostats clock.
  2. Posted this in the MAC OS forum but thought it may be important enough to get more visibility. Apple released a new Java update today for OS X. One of things it does is disable the auto execution of Java apps. If you install this Admin Console will not start until you go into Java Preferences and turn Auto Start ON. Note. It will turn off again if you don't use Java after an extended time. http://www.macrumors.com/2012/04/12/app ... k-malware/
  3. The 2491T is an Integrated Insteon Thermostat, right? Since the Insteon module is sitting on the circuit board board I don't believe there is room to add a humidity module. You do know you need the optional humidity module to get valid humidity values? I suggest you go into the options and turn off humidity reporting. That doesn't mean it win't show a bad value, it'll just stop the thermostat from sending bad humidity messages over the network.
  4. The irrigation interval variable is just the number of days between turning on the sprinklers.
  5. Ah! Got it. I hope so too. Thanks, helpful as always.
  6. That's scary. So when the new firmware supports I1, I2 & I2CS in the Query Engine, I should just be able to do new queries to get my devices back to I2?
  7. While I was trying to figure out what Query Insteon Engine actually did I tried running it on a SwitchLinc and a LampLinc. The result was that it said something like reverting to I1. Can you tell if this is really an I1 device? This is for a (2476S) SwitchLinc Relay W/Sense v.37 Sat 04/07/2012 03:35:34 PM : [All ] Writing 1 bytes to devices Sat 04/07/2012 03:35:34 PM : [iNST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 13 52 12 0F 0D 00 Sat 04/07/2012 03:35:34 PM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 13.52.12 0F 0D 00 06 (00) Sat 04/07/2012 03:35:34 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 13.52.12 18.CF.62 27 0D 01 (01) Sat 04/07/2012 03:35:34 PM : [standard-Direct Ack][13.52.12-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=3, Hops Left=1 Sat 04/07/2012 03:35:34 PM : [13 52 12 0 ] Calibrating engine version Sat 04/07/2012 03:35:34 PM : [13 52 12 0 ] May not fully support i2, reverting to i1 Is there a bug in the Query? Have I messed up my switch? Can I get it back to I2? The other problem is I don't remember exactly which devices I did this on but they all reverted to I1.
  8. I had created a temporary folder to use my RemoteLinc as a sprinkler zone controller while I was having some heads fixed. Now I can't delete the folder. Used to work. Anyway, thanks for confirming. Did you manage to delete the folder you created? Is there another way to do it?
  9. Is it just me? Am I going stupid in my old age? I suddenly find I can't delete a folder in the "Main" tab. The right click does nothing on a folder. It works fine on a folder under the "Programs" tab, but not under the "Main" tab. Running 3.2.3. Both lines show in Help/About.
  10. In addition to BIOS settings you should also check the Properties of your NIC in Device Manager. Under the Power Management tab make sure the Wake On LAN and Wake On Magic Packet is checked. Also go into the custom NIC driver settings (Advanced Tab), sometimes there are Wake On xxx settings also. If there is an Enable PME setting, that should be enabled.
  11. I work for HP in the commercial notebook engineering department (please, no snarky comments ). Our commercial notebooks support WOL from standby and hibernation but not off. That said hibernation puts the system into an off state so there's no technical reason why an OEM couldn't support it from off. It's just a bit in a chipset register.
  12. Hi Michel, My thermostat adapter is a V.92. My other Integrated Thermostat is a v.93 although I didn't test that. I just tried to reproduce the abbreviated program names but couldn't. I'll keep watching to see if I can figure out how it happens.
  13. Yes, it does. Here's what got sent, I did one down button push, then one up button push: Sun 04/01/2012 02:54:24 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 14.29.66 18.CF.62 07 71 51 (51) Sun 04/01/2012 02:54:24 PM : [standard-Direct][14.29.66-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=3, Hops Left=1 Sun 04/01/2012 02:54:24 PM : [ 14 29 66 1] CLISPC 162 Sun 04/01/2012 02:54:28 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 14.29.66 18.CF.62 07 72 49 (49) Sun 04/01/2012 02:54:28 PM : [standard-Direct][14.29.66-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=3, Hops Left=1 Sun 04/01/2012 02:54:28 PM : [ 14 29 66 1] CLISPH 146 Sun 04/01/2012 02:54:29 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 14.29.66 18.CF.62 67 93 ED (ED) Sun 04/01/2012 02:54:29 PM : [standard-Cleanup Ack][14.29.66-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=3, Hops Left=1 Sun 04/01/2012 02:54:33 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 14.29.66 18.CF.62 07 71 52 (52) Sun 04/01/2012 02:54:33 PM : [standard-Direct][14.29.66-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=3, Hops Left=1 Sun 04/01/2012 02:54:33 PM : [ 14 29 66 1] CLISPC 164 Sun 04/01/2012 02:54:37 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 14.29.66 18.CF.62 07 72 4A (4A) Sun 04/01/2012 02:54:37 PM : [standard-Direct][14.29.66-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=3, Hops Left=1 Sun 04/01/2012 02:54:37 PM : [ 14 29 66 1] CLISPH 148 Sun 04/01/2012 02:54:43 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 14.29.66 18.CF.62 07 6F 35 (35) Sun 04/01/2012 02:54:43 PM : [standard-Direct][14.29.66-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=3, Hops Left=1 Sun 04/01/2012 02:54:43 PM : [ 14 29 66 1] CLIHUM 53
  14. I'm running Mac OS X Lion and Java 6
  15. Sometimes, when I go to Programs (first time after AC is brought up I think) some folder names are abbreviated, shown below, even though there is plenty of room in the frame to display them. Opening the folder causes the name of the folder to be displayed correctly. This has happened for a little while now, not just this release.
  16. This thread inspired me to figure out how to use variables along with the release notes for 3.2.1 showing thermostat variables. I have a couple of custom notifications that use ${alert.time12} ${alert.date} ${sys.node.xx xx xx 1.STA} etc and they all seem to be working fine. Just received a notification this morning that reads: "The house appeared to be idle on 2012/03/29 @ 7:26:27 AM. Power has been shutdown and thermostat adjusted to save power."
  17. With the latest version of MobiLinc you don't need Vacation programs to set the variable, MobiLinc lets you access the variables directly from the programs page. If you drag your thermostat node into a scene you'll be able to set the mode, cool setpoint and heat setpoint for that scene. Then you only need one line: Set Scene On - This will setup the mode, cool setpoint and heat setpoint in one command. Set up more scenes the same way for different setpoints. Much more efficient.
  18. I'm not an iPhone developer but as I understand it an app can't run in the background. I think when you exit an App it goes into suspended mode and is not allowed to run. This means you would always have to have any software that might do this running in the foreground which would prevent your phone from doing most anything else. Contrary to the marketing hype iOS is not a true multi-tasking OS.
  19. Read this thread first to get started. viewtopic.php?f=27&t=8373 But "if status cool" and "if status heat" doesn't mean anything to me. What or who chooses status heat or status cool? Do you mean you set the thermostat mode manually? Why would you not use Auto?
  20. Never mind, missed a bunch of posts.
  21. Create a scene for each set of set points you might want to have. Just drag the Thermostat device node into a scene by itself. I named them (X-Cyy_Hzz) where X=A - Mode Auto X=O - Mode Off yy = Cool Setpoint zz = Heat Setpoint You can make as many of these as you wish. Then you can create a program to turn the scene on. Only On, never Off, that doesn't do anything. Never Fast On/Off, UDI says this really messes things up. Example: If On Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri Time is 6:00:00AM Then Set Scene HU TS (A-C74_H72) On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Create similar programs for different times of the day and different days. Since I have the Admin Console up here's my irrigation program: If Time is 4:00:00AM And $iIrrigation_Interval is 3 Then Repeat 3 times Set 'DEVICES / EZFLORA / EF (1)' On Wait 7 minutes Set 'DEVICES / EZFLORA / EF (2)' On Wait 7 minutes Set 'DEVICES / EZFLORA / EF (3)' On Wait 7 minutes Set 'DEVICES / EZFLORA / EF (4)' On Wait 7 minutes Set 'DEVICES / EZFLORA / EF (5)' On Wait 7 minutes Repeat 1 times Set 'DEVICES / EZFLORA / EF (5)' Off $iIrrigation_Interval = 1 $iIrrigation_Interval Init To $iIrrigation_Interval Else $iIrrigation_Interval += 1 $iIrrigation_Interval Init To $iIrrigation_Interval As you can see we have a very clay type soil so I run through the zones 3 times at 7 mins per zone. It gives the water a chance to sink in before getting more.
  22. Lee, I really like his idea and have changed my Low Batt program to match. Since changing the LowBatt from On to Off is a special case with the manual query, is it possible the query isn't triggering a re-evaluation of the "If"?

  24. Wow! Nothing like my problem. FYI, the ISY has always displayed what it thought was the current state of a RL. If you set a scene on or off with a RL in it that status is reflected in the RL. If it's blank it means the ISY hasn't received an on or off since last boot.
  25. Michel, brilliant. I removed the KPL from the MS scene and re-added it. Now all is behaving as I expect. Thanks so much.
