A few oddities after complete re do of ISY
Thank you Larry. Its been so long since I've had to tweak or fix anything as far as the ISY is concerned I've forgotten. Still not quite up to 100% so I'm sure I'll be posting more questions over the course of the day. Thanks again, Drew

LED Reflects Status of Scene/Program
Is the best way to have the LED of a KPL show the true status of a scene to make a scene with the KPL button in question and have it trigger when a program runs? Or is there an easier way to do this? I'd like the KPL button LED to reflect the status of the scene. (If I trigger a scene by double clicking a SWL and that scene is also triggered by a KPL button I'd like the KPL button to light.) I hope I'm making sense. Drew

A few oddities after complete re do of ISY
Hi guys; I had my PLM go down and had to replace it. I've redone everything but I notice a few things are still hanging around from the original PLM/ISY programming. With two SWLs, I press on (up) and they only go to a certain on level and stop. I don't have them programmed to do this so I'm not sure how to make them stop. Also When I press the B button on a KPL the A button comes on as well. (I had this programmed like this before so this isn't much of a mystery except I thought by redoing everything this should have been erased.) Any thoughts? Drew

Remotelinc 1 Battery issue
Hi Guys; I have to remotelinc 1's and a remotelinc 2 (the remotelinc two never worked consistently until I recently gave up and took it apart, now works great, clearly the evil gremlin has been let loose) Aside from that, one of the remotelinc 1's will kill batteries while the other one has lasted for months (maybe well over a year) I know a lot of people had this issue and was wondering if they've solved it or found a workaround. Hi guys; I have an older Lamplinc 2456D3 and was wanting to get another one but I can't seem to find it on the smart home site. I see a few 2 prong models but nothing with a ground pin. Am i looking in the wrong spot? Drew

Problem with KPL after Power failure again
Still no bueno When i do the restore it only controls the load (and not with the ramp rate it should have) I will then airgap it and then it becomes non responsive I'm going to delete it and rediscover it and probably just reprogram it. Don't know why this isn't working. Drew

Problem with KPL after Power failure again
Hi Guys; I had this issue before. (Here's the link) http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/16142-kpl-odd-behaviour-after-power-failure/ I've done all the steps outlined and I'm still having no luck. I've upgraded to Yosemite and I've downloaded the Java update. I can remove the KPL from the ISY and rediscover it I then try to restore it. This seems to do nothing. I've gone and airgapped the KPL but no luck getting my programs and scenes back in. I can just start again if need be but I'd like to work through this Thanks, Drew

Might be a stupid one...
Can I use a KPL button to trigger a non dimming item such as LED spotlights (non dimming) and the Insteon 2635-222 ON/OFF Module? I know the KPL buttons dim or brighten when you hold them pressed so I'm unclear if this is possible Drew

stop remotelinc from beeping
Hi guys; JUst a quick question. I was able to uncheck the box that stopped the remotelinc two from beeping. I was wondering if there was a way to do this with the remotelinc (original black ones)? I ask because my chocolate lab fears everything and the latest threat to her life in her opinion is that beep. Drew

KeypadLinc Status Lights Incorrect
I'm unsure how to manually run the THEN and ELSE paths. When I watch the ISY it seems to sometimes state that the program is on, other times, not. I found that the LED would turn on, then off, then on, then off again (not flickering or flashing like when its sending a signal but not receiving) I took out the 1 second delay and all the lights except two so I could test it easier than having to run around the basement. It now seems to choose when to work. Clearly I've made a mess of what seems to be simple.(?) Drew

KeypadLinc Status Lights Incorrect
Adding the 'else' line seemed to not work. It seems like such a simple program. If Status 'Hutch Lamplink' is Off Then Set Scene 'LED OFF Scenes / Hutch LED ON' Off Else Set Scene 'LED OFF Scenes / Hutch LED ON' On But sometimes I'll walk into the room where the hutch is and see the LED on and the hutch light off (or visa versa) I did it for these programs too. If Status 'Andrew's Office A' is not Off Or Status 'Basement Hall' is not Off Or Status 'Basement KPL A' is not Off Or Status 'Christmas Tree' is not Off Or Status 'Lamp Left' is not Off Or Status 'Lamp Right' is not Off Or Status 'Library' is not Off Or Status 'Theatre Room' is not Off Or Status 'Marion's Office' is not Off Then Wait 1 second Set Scene 'LED OFF Scenes / BASEMENT LED OFF' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') and the opposite If Status 'Andrew's Office A' is Off Or Status 'Basement Hall' is Off Or Status 'Basement KPL A' is Off Or Status 'Christmas Tree' is Off Or Status 'Lamp Left' is Off Or Status 'Lamp Right' is Off Or Status 'Library' is Off Or Status 'Theatre Room' is Off Or Status 'Marion's Office' is Off Then Wait 1 second Set Scene 'LED OFF Scenes / BASEMENT LED OFF' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') but I find that sometimes the LED doesnt properly show the state of the light(s) Drew

KeypadLinc Status Lights Incorrect

KeypadLinc Status Lights Incorrect
Hi stillen_i30; I have (through the help of a few members here) two programs that I run to sync the KPL button LED to the status of the light. First I have a scene that only has the KPL LED button in it as a responder. Then I have these two programs. If Status 'Hutch Lamplink' is Off Then Set Scene 'LED OFF Scenes / Hutch LED ON' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') If Status 'Hutch Lamplink' is not Off Then Set Scene 'LED OFF Scenes / Hutch LED ON' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') As an aside, if there's an easier way to do it I'm open to hear it. I hope this helps. Drew

Under Cabinet LED Lighting
I'm not sure if this helps but I have a hutch that used to have the type of control where you touch the designated hinge and the lighting inside would turn on 33%, next touch 66%, next touch 100%, next touch off. I opened the control box and hardwired it (solder, heated shrink wrap, etc…) and plugged it directly into a lamplinc. It's now controlled by a KPL button. (P.S. had an electrician friend eyeball my frankenstein job to make sure I didn't do anything wrong.)

keypad button to indicate status of and control entire floor
oberkc, everything you suggested works. My problem was the PLM replacement. I'm finding out I have to restore my devices. Please forgive my ignorance on this. I've never replaced the PLM before and didnt know I would have to restore devices. I will back away from the forum slowly, ashamed, and try restoring before I bring an issue to the table. Drew

keypad button to indicate status of and control entire floor
Hi oberkc; When I saw the failures in the tests I thought that too. I just got home from work so I'm futzing with it now. I just replaced the PLM a few weeks ago and had to 'restore' a SWL. I'm in the process of restoring the KPL now in hopes that thats the issue. I used to get awful comm errors constantly. I worked through all of them and nailed it down to a poor power supply in an old PC that's no longer in use. I havent had comm issues again until a month ago when the PLM failed. After I replaced it everything is rock solid again. I'll see if 'restoring' it works and if not I'll check out the questions in your posting. Drew

keypad button to indicate status of and control entire floor
Hi oberkc; Thanks for getting back to me with this. Hopefully this summary points to where I'm going wrong. I only have the one KPL G button involved in this issue The basement off scene is a scene that shuts all the lights off, where as the basement LED off scene is the scene that only has the KPL G button as a responder. (this is the scene that is triggered by the programs mentioned in this post that I was hoping would set the status of the KPL LED, i.e. if any light is on the LED is on, if all lights are off, the LED is off) Yes, the controller is also a responder. I just have the one scene. That being said, if I try to manually trigger the basement LED scene from the ISY it doesn't light. (I've made exact copies of the scene but switched to different KPLs and they work fine. I've tried switching a different LED on the KPL in question and it doesn't work. I've tried air gapping the KPL. I'm getting no comm errors from it) If I have to start from scratch I'm not opposed to that. Drew

keypad button to indicate status of and control entire floor
Hi Oberkc; The KPL G is controller in the 'Basement Dim' scene Its a responder to the All Off scene (just a whole house off scene) and the Basement Dim scene And my Basement LED OFF scene (the LED scene I created to try to control the status of the LED itself) This scene has only the KPL G LED at 100%. It also triggers this program If Status 'Hallway KPL G Basement Dim' is Off Then Set Scene 'Basement Off' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') and of course the program in question. If Status 'Andrew's Office A' is not Off Or Status 'Basement Hall' is not Off Or Status 'Basement KPL A' is not Off Or Status 'Christmas Tree' is not Off Or Status 'Lamp Left' is not Off Or Status 'Lamp Right' is not Off Or Status 'Library' is not Off Or Status 'Theatre Room' is not Off Then Wait 1 second Set Scene 'LED OFF Scenes / BASEMENT LED OFF' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') If its a case where I have too much stuff on the one LED I can be good with that. I believe this works perfectly. If Status 'Barn Spots' is not Off Then Wait 3 minutes Set 'Barn Spots' Off Set Scene 'LED OFF Scenes / Spots off' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Its an entirely different KPL.

keypad button to indicate status of and control entire floor
So, to recap. I have a KPL Button (G) that turns a basement scene on. (This works fine) When it is turned off, it triggers a program to shut off ALL lights in the basement, regardless if they are in the scene or not. (This works fine) Where it falls apart is this. IF there's any light on in the basement I want the KPL G Button to be lit. (This eludes me somehow) If Status 'Andrew's Office A' is not Off Or Status 'Basement Hall' is not Off Or Status 'Basement KPL A' is not Off Or Status 'Christmas Tree' is not Off Or Status 'Lamp Left' is not Off Or Status 'Lamp Right' is not Off Or Status 'Library' is not Off Or Status 'Theatre Room' is not Off Then Wait 1 second Set Scene 'LED OFF Scenes / BASEMENT LED OFF' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') I'm pretty sure at this point Insteon has recreated the Bugs Bunny "Boxing Glove On A Spring" with my name on it. I have been over the "Light the KPL LED Status thing with many KPLs and I can never get it to work 100% Sometimes it will seem to be correct but at one point I'll notice the LED is off when the light is on (or the other way around) Any help before I kick the chair out from under me would be greatly appreciated. (knowing my luck, the chair would trigger a scene and in my final breath I would notice the LED was incorrectly showing the status) Drew

keypad button to indicate status of and control entire floor
Does it matter that the same KPL button triggers the basement scene on AND triggers a scene that shuts all basement lights off, regardless if they're in the basement scene or not? I'm hoping to just have the one KPL button be the basement button. Drew
