Cannot retrieve programs: Could no open config file to read
I think I'd like to start fresh. I'll follow the directions for resetting the ISY (Push the pin in) So to clarify, unplug everything. Plug in the PLM. plug in the ISY. Plug the two together with network cables. Reset the ISY Begin to rediscover all devices and carry on Have I missed something or messed something up? Drew

Cannot retrieve programs: Could no open config file to read
The wiki is telling me not to reset but to reboot. ? Is there a benefit to resetting? (resetting being pushing in the pin button on the back?)

Cannot retrieve programs: Could no open config file to read
So I'm getting the new PLM tomorrow. Although I have a back I don't trust it since it was with the faulty PLM. I don't mind redoing everything again, I'm becoming a pro. So to be clear, I'll unplug the PLM and the ISY from their power adaptors and network cables. Then I'll plug in the ISY’s port A to the new PLM Plug the new PLM into a power outlet Plug ISY into a power outlet Go to Admin Console and wait for system initialization to complete Then start linking devices. Correct?

Cannot retrieve programs: Could no open config file to read
I just tried to make a new program and it failed. It spit out a long error message and then told me it was a Bad Request. I hadn't heard that since I was Naughty Santa at the last Staff Christmas party. waka waka waka Drew

Cannot retrieve programs: Could no open config file to read
I did. I also had no real good back up and had to redo everything (I own that) I didn't mind as it let me clean up a lot of unused programs etc. I noticed a few weeks ago that programs were acting odd (timers would turn a scene on but not shut it off) ALL OFF scenes would leave a few lights on and I'd have to press the KPL button to trigger it a few more times to get it right. I could add one Remotelinc 1 easily but a week later the second remotelinc wouldn't add whatsoever. It occurred to me the new PLM was acting up but before I got a chance to check it I got the warning I posted above. I have another PLM on the way (warranty replacement) and I will again follow the directions. I have unplugged the PLM to detangle cables etc. If I unplug the PLM do I have to unplug the ISY and then Go through some series of 'plug this in first, then this' etc? Or can i just plug in the new PLM and go from there? Drew

Cannot retrieve programs: Could no open config file to read
Is there a way to test to see if I can restore it? Unplug both the PLM and ISY and power down, then plug in PLM then ISY?

Cannot retrieve programs: Could no open config file to read
I have a brand new PLM and just got this message. I have also had odd program behaviour since installing the new PLM. Am I to understand I have a defective PLM?

Add a Remotelinc
I've got it in the ISY but still with Exclamation marks. I programmed a scene to one of the buttons as a controller and it worked (sometimes I had to push it twice to trigger the scene but I also didn't remove the tin foil from the PLM if that makes a difference) The ISY didn't recognize the scene had been triggered. My next try would be to put the Remotelinc in the barn (its a separate service but still controlled by the ISY) I have two SWL out there version .27 Are they dual band RF devices? If not what are dual band? Drew

Add a Remotelinc
Doesn't seem to be doing anything. Should I delete the device and try to find a better place to set it when I try to re add it? Any thoughts on where I need to put the remote to hopefully have a better result in adding it to the ISY? Outside? as far from the house as it'll go and still be found? I'm getting the feeling i'll be burning a few AAA's before I'm done Drew

Add a Remotelinc
Hi Brian How far away were you? If I go too far I assume it won't read at all. I've been running everywhere and finally got the remotelinc added but there are exclamation marks beside the buttons. I can't query it either. I add a button to a scene and it seems to add but won't actually control the scene. I have another Remotelinc and had no problems adding it whatsoever. Don't know what the difference is Drew

Add a Remotelinc
I just tried that and it seemed to recognize the Remotelinc but it told me it couldn't add the Remotelinc because it Couldn't determine Insteon Engine I've tried a few times. Should I put it in a different room? Drew EDIT I sent this just as Brian added his post. I'll try putting it upstairs and let you know Drew

Add a Remotelinc
Sorry for not being clear. I have the older remotelinc 1 I click on the GUI to Link a Remotelinc and it pops up the New Insteon Device window but no other step or anything to get the ISY to recognize and link to the Remotelinc

Add a Remotelinc
Hi Guys; I went to the wiki to see how to add my remotelinc and I don't see the same window pop ups that are on the wiki I go to Link Management and select Link a Remotelinc. I get the New Insteon Device window pop up but nothing that tells me to hold the A button until it flashes. I tried this anyway and the GUI told me it couldn't find a device. I believe I have the latest updates and all. Am I missing something? Drew

Cant Get this program back
I air gapped and restored the KPL. Seems to be working. Thanks Larry and Stu Although for some reason the KPL buttons on all the KPLs in the house light up (buttons B-H, A button is off) Is there a way I can also shut off all LEDs in my program? I'll let you know if the timer works tomorrow Drew

Cant Get this program back
When I click it (non toggle off) it flashes once. None of the devices react Larry: No I haven't. I could try that. (pull the tab out for 10 seconds then push and hold all the way in for 10 seconds, correct?)

Cant Get this program back
There are 26 separate devices in the scene I don't have the controller in the scene. The KPL triggers the scene via a program. (I have all the KPL buttons of each KPL in the scene as well to shut off, maybe that's an issue?) I've not gotten to see if the timer to shut it off works as I can't get the program to trigger first. The KPL that triggers the program is not in the scene This seems like it should be easier than this.

Cant Get this program back
Bedtime Button - [iD 0008][Parent 0043] If Control 'Entryway KPL 7 Nighttime' is switched Off Then Set Scene 'Nighttime' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') and this is the Off timer Bedtime Button Off - [iD 0009][Parent 0043] If Time is 5:30:00AM Then Set Scene 'Nighttime' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') For some reason when i push the Nighttime KPL button (set to non toggle off) nothing happens Drew

Cant Get this program back
Hi guys; I had this scene/program working perfectly but since redoing my ISY I can't seem to get it back. I'm following all my steps in this post http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/1110-night-scene/ but to no avail. In short, I want to press one KPL button (in non toggle off mode) this will shut off everything but leave four lights on at 20% Then at sunrise have a program shut everything off. It seems simple but then again so am I as it turns out. Any light on the subject (I didn't mean to do that, apologizes) would be great. Drew

A few oddities after complete re do of ISY
Thank you Larry. Its been so long since I've had to tweak or fix anything as far as the ISY is concerned I've forgotten. Still not quite up to 100% so I'm sure I'll be posting more questions over the course of the day. Thanks again, Drew

LED Reflects Status of Scene/Program
Is the best way to have the LED of a KPL show the true status of a scene to make a scene with the KPL button in question and have it trigger when a program runs? Or is there an easier way to do this? I'd like the KPL button LED to reflect the status of the scene. (If I trigger a scene by double clicking a SWL and that scene is also triggered by a KPL button I'd like the KPL button to light.) I hope I'm making sense. Drew

A few oddities after complete re do of ISY
Hi guys; I had my PLM go down and had to replace it. I've redone everything but I notice a few things are still hanging around from the original PLM/ISY programming. With two SWLs, I press on (up) and they only go to a certain on level and stop. I don't have them programmed to do this so I'm not sure how to make them stop. Also When I press the B button on a KPL the A button comes on as well. (I had this programmed like this before so this isn't much of a mystery except I thought by redoing everything this should have been erased.) Any thoughts? Drew

Remotelinc 1 Battery issue
Hi Guys; I have to remotelinc 1's and a remotelinc 2 (the remotelinc two never worked consistently until I recently gave up and took it apart, now works great, clearly the evil gremlin has been let loose) Aside from that, one of the remotelinc 1's will kill batteries while the other one has lasted for months (maybe well over a year) I know a lot of people had this issue and was wondering if they've solved it or found a workaround. Hi guys; I have an older Lamplinc 2456D3 and was wanting to get another one but I can't seem to find it on the smart home site. I see a few 2 prong models but nothing with a ground pin. Am i looking in the wrong spot? Drew
