Hi Guys; I had a pdf from a user that said it could make a button multi-use. (i.e. when i push the B button, the scene is triggered, when I push the same B button it brightens, pressing it a third time brightens again.) It never did work. Is there a way that this is possible? Drew

Its an odd beep then. It sounds more like an electrical short than a beep. I can only assume that's the beep they are mentioning. Thanks for the reply Drew

Hi Guys; I've just bought new switchlincs and a new KPL. I hooked them up properly and when I throw the breaker back on I hear a very short buzzing sound for just a second and then it's gone. I also hear this after I let go of the set button when I press it to link them. I wondering if anyone else has heard this. Talk to you soon, Drew

I'm blown away at this. I'd love to get this working but alas I am but a mere mortal as far as the programming aspect of this goes. If I understand this I can affect a scene four different ways from one kpl button? Such as dim, brighter, brighter still, brighter still, full on? I'm not sure how to even start this. i printed off the PDF and am looking at it now. If I have this right i: Create four scenes (these scenes are programs 00 01 10 11?) a little lost already (are these scenes or programs?) If anyone has the patience to drag my overtaxed brain through this I would forever be in his or her debt. Drew

I know I'm the last one to help but would setting the KPL button as a non-toggle off to trigger the 47 devices work? I have that exact setting (thanks to a few members here) that shuts off all the lights. The non-toggle off always sends an off signal so there's no chance of turning any on. Drew

Okay so here's the public flogging of Drew. I've already PM'ed fitzpatri8 so this really for the benefit of others that might have the same problem and can't find a solution. None of my programs were working after a power outage. I removed and redid all of my devices as they had lost their memory regardless of what the PLM and ISY were telling them. In my re programming, I accidently typed a line from one of my programs in the wrong spot. I actually typed it ONTO the PROGRAMS FOLDER itself, making it a condition of any program in that folder. Thus nothing would run because the condition would never be met. Ouch. That just hurts the pride and ego to type that. hahaha Drew

I think I might be dealing with something more here. I have a very simple program that wont run on a SWL. I need to get to the bottom of what's really wrong here. Drew

I tried that but now the lights stay on and no scene gets triggered. Drew

Still no luck. I did however find the original forum where I learned how to do it in the first place. http://forum.universal-devices.com/view ... ight=#9456 But when I try to do it again it doesnt work at all now. (???) I have the G (non toggle off) as the controller in an ALL OFF scene. It shuts everything off fine (except one problem which I'll talk about later) That half is great. But then I have this If Control 'Entryway KPL G' is switched Off Then Set Scene 'Nighttime' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') This doesnt trigger at all. I dont understand why it doesnt work now. I followed Darrell's direction again but no dice. Here's the problem with the ALL OFF scene. It shuts everything off except the load on the same KPL. It turns off the A button KPL but not the actual light that the A button turns on and off. That goes right over my head. To be fair, most things do but that one really does.haha I'd love to get this working again. It was my best program sadly. Drew

So every insteon device is in a scene, all but four would be set to 0%. The four are set to 20%, and then have a program that says at sunrise - 20 minutes, if the nighttime scene is true, shut it off. (I'm not sure how to word that one but I'll get to that after I get this done). I also want the LED of the G button to be off when the nighttime scene is on. Is that a Non toggle on? I would also like the scene to to shut off the LEDS of other KPLs as well as the lights themselves. Do I just put the KPL B KPL C etc... buttons in the scene as responders? Thanks for your patience in this topic. I'm not very good at this stuff sometimes. Drew
-
The G button is only the controller for the "ALL OFF" scene. I don't have a controller for the Nighttime scene. I was hoping to have the Nighttime Scene triggered from a program triggered from the switching off of the G Button. Is that not possible? Drew
-
I have the KPL G a non toggle off and its the controller of the all off scene. That much works great. But it won't trigger my nighttime scene. I'm not sure why. Here's what I have. Drew If Control 'Entryway KPL G' is switched Off Then Wait 3 seconds Set Scene 'Nighttime' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')
-
So the non toggle off would shut everything off everytime its pressed? And now I'm second guessing why I had a second scene. I put the second scene in because I had another program that basically said, If its sunrise -20 minutes, and scene Night scene is true, then shut off Night scene. I put in the wait 5 seconds because I had a 6.5 second ramp down. So I can have the G button non toggle off shut off all the lights and leave a few at 20% or so? Drew
-
So if I have this right, Make a scene with all the lights in it set to 0% That scene is controlled by the KPL G (nontoggle off so it always shuts off all the lights, no matter what, correct?) and the KPL G triggers the second scene which is the night scene. Just want to be straight about it. And to totally understand what I'm doing so I don't have to keep asking simple questions. Trying to get a bit of an education, that's all. Thanks. I'll try it tonight and let you know how it goes. Drew

Hey Guys. I need a little help here. I've just redone my system and don't have a backup of a favourite program of mine. Here's what it did. I would push a KPL G button (in a toggle off mode to keep the LED off) and it would shut off all the lights, wait five seconds, then turn on the night scene. I've tried to reporduce it but for some reason it won't trigger again. I know I have some small thing wrong that makes it just sit there and do nothing but I can't figure it out. I'm at work right now so I can't post what I have, sorry. Let me know if anyone knows how to do this, again. Drew

I have the KPL H button that controls the Lamplinc as a responder. I don't see it in the Main window on the right as far as being able to control it's ramp rate and on level. Should I see KPL secondary buttons there? It's listed up top where the serial numbers are etc... but not down where the sliders are. I asked that same question before on a forum but didn't get a clear answer (not for the fault of others). Drew

Hi Guys; when I put a KPL H button into a scene, it disappears. It says it's already a member of the scene but I can't control it or see the button present. It controls a Lamplinc. I'm also having trouble getting the state of the KPL LEDS to match the actual state of the lights. Example, when scenes turn on (sometimes with a timer), the lights are on but the KPL button that controls them isn't. And sometimes when I shut off the scene in a room the secondary KPL light is still on. Any solutions? Am i programming scenes or timers wrong? Drew

Done and done. Thanks David. I just opened up the touch control box on the back, cut it out, spliced the wires, solder, shrinkwrap, put back in the box without the controller and good to go. I was making life more difficult for myself as usual. Drew

I have a hutch that has a few lights in it. You touch a hinge on one of the doors and the lights go on (touch once, dim, touch twice, brighter, touch a third time, full bright). I tried to hook it up with a lamplinc but it doesn't work. Has anyone ever tried this? Is there a work around? I'd love to add it to a few scenes. Drew

Hi Guys; I have a scene that has three controllers in it. Barn 1 Barn 2 and KPL B. When I press any one of these the KPL B led lights up. (now that I think of it I'm not sure the LED lights up when I press either barn SWL, I'll check that tonight) I have this scene on a timer. when it turns on it doesn't light the KPL B led. I'm not sure what I did wrong. Again, all devices are entered into the scene as controllers so I can shut off or turn on all the lights from any place. Drew

thanks guys. I thought it had something to do with LEDs. I'll plug in a cell charger to fix it. Drew

Hi Guys; I just bought two lamplinc and hooked one up to shut off the LED lights on the Christmas tree. But I just noticed that the LEDS don`t quite shut off 100% Is this a problem with the Lamplinc or is it because LEDS are being controlled Drew

Hi Rand; I'm not sure from your post if I should see the status of the B to H buttons (I seem to think I did at one point but can't now). I'm also missing a SWL from the ISY. Should I just air gap it? What's the procedure for re-discovering a SWL? One more thing, my programs or timers don't seem to work. They are listed in the GUI but when I double tap a SWL to trigger a scene, the scene doesn't happen. I'm not sure what I should do to get everything up and running again. Everything was great, flawless for months but now I'm a little stumped again. Any help whould be great. Drew

First off thanks for the speedy reply. I thought I'd hear something by Monday but maybe I can get to the solution tonight. First off, I'm not crazy (small cheer) Secondly, do I push the KPLs (I'm assuming the b to h buttons, not the reset button) while the GUI is up and running? Or do I run around and push all the buttons that don't show up and then boot up the ISY GUI? Drew
-
...so no laughing. I too had a power failure but everything seemed to reboot fine (the outage happened when I was away). But when I go through the GUI(by highlighting the item on the left( SWLs, KPLs, etc...) I see the ONSTATE, ON LEVEL, RAMP RATE, and PROPERTIES boxes on everything butnothing for the B to H kpl buttons and nothing on the remotelinc at all. I upgraded to the latest ISY version but that didn't seem to help. Should I not see the state of each button on the KPLs? I could swear they were there before but if Michel says I'm crazy I'll accept that too. HAHAHA Drew
