To transition scenes where I don't want any lights left on from the previous scene I've used the 'Mutually Exclusive Button Grouping' I put two KPL buttons in the grouping and when i press one it shuts the other scene off seamlessly. Drew

Hi Xathros; If I try to add the KPL button to the scene it'll tell me it is already a member of the scene. The KPL does turn the light on and off. My issue is if the light is triggered by another scene the KPL LED doesn't always show the current state of the light. It must be something in my scene or program or something? (Sorry if I'm being to vague) It cant be comm issues. I have gone through everything with a fine tooth comb. I'm getting no errors as far as that goes. I just replaced a failing PLM that solved every comm issue. Drew

I found the Philips bulbs to dim well without flickering but they did cut out at about 15%. That drove me a little crazy. 1) I like the smooth ramp rate to be constant. 2) I have a lab that's afraid of lightning, camera flashes, etc… (insert personal argh!) I noticed the FEIT bulbs would fade smoothly from 100 - 0 but they had the issue that I mentioned before. (if I had just those bulbs in the fixture they wouldnt really fade well at all, yes they're dimmable) They would almost wait until 40% it seemed and then pop on, flicker inconsistently, etc… Given the issues I had and the lack of resolution, I chalked it up to the fact that LED bulbs are still new and they have a bit of refining to do. Its a give up but it was either that or endlessly slam my face into the desk. (It's not that pretty to begin with so I can't lose any ground in that department.) Drew

Hi Guys; I would love to get to the bottom of this. For a few reasons. The state of the LED does not always show the state of the light. I always seem to have to press a KPL button to "turn on" and light that's already on to shut it off. And to show me that one of the lights in the basement is on and I want to shut them all off with one click. I've looked at this on the wiki... http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index ... ow_Program And I've made my scene where the KPL button in question is a responder. (from the wiki) but alas I am thwarted in my endeavours. Curses!!! Do I make my scene (where my KPL button is the only thing in it and a responder) trigger by a program that says… (and forgive the following babble) If light is on then KPL scene is on and then another program stating If light is off the KPL scene is off. ??? I too had these issues. viewtopic.php?f=28&t=12273 I'm by no means a pro at this stuff but I found that I need a bigger power draw. Yars ago I put a lamplinc on my led Christmas lights. They wouldn't shut off completely. I read somewhere in the forum to put more of a demand on the device (lamplinc in this instance) So I plugged in a phone charger as well. Worked great. I had the same issues and more with my LED lights. (The link above) I couldn't find a solution so I switched bulbs. The LEDs are now in non insteon switches in the barns and in ther places until the issue gets sorted out. I've tried many brands. (I'm a little gunshy to go buy more for experimentation but I haven't purchased Cree brand yet) Sorry for the odd phrasing (bigger power draw, more of a demand on the device). I'm trying to not say the device needs a bigger load for obvious reasons. I would love to use all LEDs but they don't dim well yet with our insteon stuff. With a regular dimmer from Home Depot yes but if you set your device at 30% it's okay, at 29% it flickers. (Just an example I had an issue with) Drew

Last night all my devices turned on while we were asleep New plm bug or paranormal activity? Drew

Got a new PLM and solved all my issues. Thank you to all who helped with this. Drew

Hi Guys; Sometimes my remotelinc 2 wont wake up. I flick the on off switch, the hold down buttons, I click one endlessly. This is new behaviour. I do have a PLM that's died and I'm still awaiting the replacement. I cant see that being the issue. And ideas? Drew

Good news then. If I get a minute I'll pull the LEDs and then pull the SWL to see if I can find the version on the unit itself. (Is that possible?) Drew
-
Am I to replace any SWl that are v.35 or older? I have 7 v.27 at least if I'm reading the GUI right.
-
The ISY wont recognize the device in question so I cant see what info it lists off. (I'm assuming the node display is in the GUI) Drew
-
Hi Michel; How can I find out if the SWl is V.35? Is it printed on the unit itself? Why would v.35s cause issues? Drew
-
I tried to turn the scene off from the GUI No luck. I seem to be having system wide failure here. Every time I open the ISY GUI I get at least ten or so errors cant communicate. If its noise I'm stumped. The new thing I have are LED lights. If the LED lights are off do they still create noise? Should I try to take them right out and see if that works? (I only ask because no one seems to think its the LEDs but I cant think of anything else thats new) Thus far I cant control scenes from the GUI I cant add a SWL that previously worked fine. I'm getting multiple (17 at last count) comm errors) at log in. Programs don't work. Is there something I can do like reboot or re install? Is it JAVA? This is more than line noise. I don't have anything new to create noise. …mother... Drew

I tried adding a three second wait. Still no result. Do you think its to do with what I'm dealing with here? viewtopic.php?f=28&t=12521 This may be related. I have a remotelinc2. I have it trigger two things at the moment. An old lamplinc which it does usually on the second click It's also to trigger a KPL button which it always has a hard time doing. I'm forever clicking it until I want to give up. The KPL in question is a device I cant write updates to. If I can get that working smoother with all this poking around, I'd once again be a happy man.
-
I did exactly that and it doesnt seem to shut them all off. (hence the posting of the problem) I think I have to go through and figure out what's up with the communication issues. Would unplugging the ISY to reboot it help? Drew

Hi guys; I'm hoping I can do this. I have a KPL button that turns on some lights in the basement. (lets say 5 lights for argument) When I press the KPL button off, can I have the KPL also trigger a scene that turns off ALL the lights in the basement? (not just the 5 lights the KPL button turns on) Its a little frustrating when I have to go down to shut off a light not controlled by the KPL button's scene. Just wondering. Drew
-
My programs still don't trigger. I switched the contents of the CONF like you mentioned. Is it because I programmed the programs with the old ISY? (Clearly I'm just swinging in the dark here haha) If I have to as a last resort I can try to delete a program, redo it and see if it works. I assume it will I can spend the next little while changing them one by one if that's the only option. Will you be working on the KPL bug? Drew

I switched from the 99 to the 994i (found a proper backup) The GUI looks the same as far as the programs and scenes I had but now I find that theres a lot of discrepancies as far as programs etc… from what I had previously. For example I have a night timer that now turns on a different light and my programs don't seem to work. Is there a difference (besides the obvious) between the 99i and the 994i that would decode some stuff from a backup differently than its predecessor? I also don't receive emails from the ISY when a notification should be sent. +edit+ (fixed this issue, it was switched from default) (I also see scenes that i didnt have before, remnants from old scenes? they are named Scene 97 etc…) Just asking before I have to pick through everything one by one and fix them. Drew
-
Sounds like the best choice is to use the older back up and re program what I find missing Thank you for all the help. Drew
-
Hi guys; Quick (and maybe stupid) question. I just received my 994i to replace a non functioning 99i Can i just pop out the smart cards and transfer the data with my computer card reader to retain all my scenes etc. or do I have to start again? I have a back up but a usual its probably a few months old and I'd have to re program a few things. Just asking. Drew

This stuff is beyond awesome. I cannot wait to get the hang of this. I'm going to drive the wife crazy. (That is why we buy this stuff, is it not?) Thank you again. If I have any problems understanding the nomenclature I'll post back. Drew
-
Im sorry if I was unclear. I know nothing of the integer and variable of which you speak. The numbered list in my last post is what I'm trying to accomplish. Where can I learn about integers? Your paragraph that starts off "A bit about variables in the ISY" leaves my head spinning.
-
Okay, so my head is spinning with the integer thing. (I just saw the tab now for the first time if that lets you in on my apparent ignorance with this) I'm wondering what to do as far as this goes. You are 100% correct in that 1. When I press RL-B off Scene A and Scene B shut off 2. When I press RL-B on, it triggers Scene A 3. When I press RL-B again, it knows Scene A is on and triggers Scene B 4. This would toggle back and forth Do impart knowledge. If this integer thing-a-ma-bob is what I think it is, it's going to be the new cat's *** around these parts. Drew (note: No cat's will be harmed in these proceedings)
-
Thank you Xathros. RL-B is in Toggle mode so is what I have. Works fine Also, is correct as well. I'm unclear on what " " and means. But I think this is exactly what I'm looking for. Drew

Could it then start with; If SCENE A OR B are OFF then Button B turns SCENE A ON
