One KPL button, two outcomes?
I think I've found the issue. When I swapped out my failing PLM I noticed a few odd things when I started up the new one. I found kitchen lights would trigger when I would turn on a basement scene and other things like that. This seemed to be the same. I run a night scene that has an off program at 5:30 AM Half or so of those lights were set to 0% and others were set to 100% I'm going through my ISY and tweaking programs and scenes anyway since the new PLM so I expect I'll find a few other anomalies Drew

How did this not work
Encouraging. Thank you. Although the LED issue has been driving my a little for a while. My main issue is time. (as is everyone else's) I don't have enough time to sit and ponder this stuff. I have bursts of time here and there but not enough to learn. I don't want to be the typical forum user that just stands on everyone's shoulders. I'd like to contribute as well. (and not in the 'don't do what Drew is doing' capacity) hahahaha Drew

How did this not work
Works like a charm. I'm trying to get the hang of programming my ISY stuff so I don't have to keep running to the forum. Thank you. Drew

How did this not work
If Status 'Barn Spots' is not Off Then Wait 10 seconds Set 'Barn Spots' Off Wait 3 seconds Set Scene 'KPL off' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') I tried this. It didnt work for some reason. I dod have a slow ramp rate. Should I delay the KPL LED scene off more? (just tried it, no go)

How did this not work
So if I make a scene with the KPL button (the C button in this instance) as a responder. and have the scene triggered to run when the light shuts off? That's seems easy but then I'd have to make a scene for everything KPL secondary button that I wanted to display the status of the light or lights linked. Is this the way to do it?

How did this not work
If Status 'Barn Spots' is not Off Then Wait 10 seconds Set 'Barn Spots' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') This worked. I'm still not sure why the other didnt. (I changed it to 10 seconds solely for testing purposes) But this raises an issue I can never figure out. The light shuts off because the program tells it to but the KPL LED that turns it on is still lit. I've tried to get my LEDS to properly display the status of the light or lights connected but I fail every time. (insert comic book argh here) If i could clear it up I would be ever so grateful. I've been told I need to put the LED button in question into the scene as a responder but I cant as it tells me it already in the scene (It is the controller) Drew

How did this not work
I just clicked the KPL button once. Switched On. Should I change it to If the Light is Not Off? Drew

One KPL button, two outcomes?
Second night in a row all the lights are on in the middle of the night. Could it be the Query? (Its the only program that runs at night) I don't have ELK. I have the odd deer that walks through the yard but I don't think they are screwing with my Insteon stuff. (I'm truly sorry for that, I couldnt resist it) I have no Motion sensors either. Also, I notice many of the KPLs in the house have multiple LEDS lit up in the morning. Drew

How did this not work
If Control 'Barn Spots' is switched On Then Wait 5 minutes Set 'Barn Spots' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') I have a spotlight that I want to turn off as its left on sometimes. I thought it was straight forward. But the light remains on. Drew

One KPL button, two outcomes?
Hi Michel; I think the problem is either bad programming on my part or my wife touching the things in the house that are clearly labelled "man stuff" I do not have ELK. Drew

Whats the best way to transition scenes?
To transition scenes where I don't want any lights left on from the previous scene I've used the 'Mutually Exclusive Button Grouping' I put two KPL buttons in the grouping and when i press one it shuts the other scene off seamlessly. Drew

KPL LED to show current state of Light
Hi Xathros; If I try to add the KPL button to the scene it'll tell me it is already a member of the scene. The KPL does turn the light on and off. My issue is if the light is triggered by another scene the KPL LED doesn't always show the current state of the light. It must be something in my scene or program or something? (Sorry if I'm being to vague) It cant be comm issues. I have gone through everything with a fine tooth comb. I'm getting no errors as far as that goes. I just replaced a failing PLM that solved every comm issue. Drew

Flickering 8 button dimmer switch
I found the Philips bulbs to dim well without flickering but they did cut out at about 15%. That drove me a little crazy. 1) I like the smooth ramp rate to be constant. 2) I have a lab that's afraid of lightning, camera flashes, etc… (insert personal argh!) I noticed the FEIT bulbs would fade smoothly from 100 - 0 but they had the issue that I mentioned before. (if I had just those bulbs in the fixture they wouldnt really fade well at all, yes they're dimmable) They would almost wait until 40% it seemed and then pop on, flicker inconsistently, etc… Given the issues I had and the lack of resolution, I chalked it up to the fact that LED bulbs are still new and they have a bit of refining to do. Its a give up but it was either that or endlessly slam my face into the desk. (It's not that pretty to begin with so I can't lose any ground in that department.) Drew

KPL LED to show current state of Light
Hi Guys; I would love to get to the bottom of this. For a few reasons. The state of the LED does not always show the state of the light. I always seem to have to press a KPL button to "turn on" and light that's already on to shut it off. And to show me that one of the lights in the basement is on and I want to shut them all off with one click. I've looked at this on the wiki... http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index ... ow_Program And I've made my scene where the KPL button in question is a responder. (from the wiki) but alas I am thwarted in my endeavours. Curses!!! Do I make my scene (where my KPL button is the only thing in it and a responder) trigger by a program that says… (and forgive the following babble) If light is on then KPL scene is on and then another program stating If light is off the KPL scene is off. ??? Flickering 8 button dimmer switch
I too had these issues. viewtopic.php?f=28&t=12273 I'm by no means a pro at this stuff but I found that I need a bigger power draw. Yars ago I put a lamplinc on my led Christmas lights. They wouldn't shut off completely. I read somewhere in the forum to put more of a demand on the device (lamplinc in this instance) So I plugged in a phone charger as well. Worked great. I had the same issues and more with my LED lights. (The link above) I couldn't find a solution so I switched bulbs. The LEDs are now in non insteon switches in the barns and in ther places until the issue gets sorted out. I've tried many brands. (I'm a little gunshy to go buy more for experimentation but I haven't purchased Cree brand yet) Sorry for the odd phrasing (bigger power draw, more of a demand on the device). I'm trying to not say the device needs a bigger load for obvious reasons. I would love to use all LEDs but they don't dim well yet with our insteon stuff. With a regular dimmer from Home Depot yes but if you set your device at 30% it's okay, at 29% it flickers. (Just an example I had an issue with) Drew

Remotelinc 2 hard to wake up
Hi Guys; Sometimes my remotelinc 2 wont wake up. I flick the on off switch, the hold down buttons, I click one endlessly. This is new behaviour. I do have a PLM that's died and I'm still awaiting the replacement. I cant see that being the issue. And ideas? Drew

One KPL button, two outcomes?
Good news then. If I get a minute I'll pull the LEDs and then pull the SWL to see if I can find the version on the unit itself. (Is that possible?) Drew

One KPL button, two outcomes?
Am I to replace any SWl that are v.35 or older? I have 7 v.27 at least if I'm reading the GUI right.

One KPL button, two outcomes?
The ISY wont recognize the device in question so I cant see what info it lists off. (I'm assuming the node display is in the GUI) Drew
-
One KPL button, two outcomes?
Hi Michel; How can I find out if the SWl is V.35? Is it printed on the unit itself? Why would v.35s cause issues? Drew

One KPL button, two outcomes?
I tried to turn the scene off from the GUI No luck. I seem to be having system wide failure here. Every time I open the ISY GUI I get at least ten or so errors cant communicate. If its noise I'm stumped. The new thing I have are LED lights. If the LED lights are off do they still create noise? Should I try to take them right out and see if that works? (I only ask because no one seems to think its the LEDs but I cant think of anything else thats new) Thus far I cant control scenes from the GUI I cant add a SWL that previously worked fine. I'm getting multiple (17 at last count) comm errors) at log in. Programs don't work. Is there something I can do like reboot or re install? Is it JAVA? This is more than line noise. I don't have anything new to create noise. …mother... Drew

One KPL button, two outcomes?
I tried adding a three second wait. Still no result. Do you think its to do with what I'm dealing with here? viewtopic.php?f=28&t=12521 This may be related. I have a remotelinc2. I have it trigger two things at the moment. An old lamplinc which it does usually on the second click It's also to trigger a KPL button which it always has a hard time doing. I'm forever clicking it until I want to give up. The KPL in question is a device I cant write updates to. If I can get that working smoother with all this poking around, I'd once again be a happy man.

One KPL button, two outcomes?
I did exactly that and it doesnt seem to shut them all off. (hence the posting of the problem) I think I have to go through and figure out what's up with the communication issues. Would unplugging the ISY to reboot it help? Drew
