Hi guys, thanks for all the help but I have to admit some of it goes over my head. New Program - [ID 0018][Parent 0001] If Status 'Big Room Fan' is On And Control 'BRRemote-G' is switched On Then Set Scene 'Big Room Fans' Fast Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') This has worked for the mini remote no problem. But this almost works perfectly. It turns the scene on when the light is off. And when the light is on the scene shuts off when the mini remote is pressed. But it fades back up after a delay. Remote Cooking Off If Status 'Kitchen Sink' is not Off And Control 'BRRemote-C Cooking' is switched On Then Set Scene 'Cooking' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') I don't understand the difference. One thing of note.I don't get the option to select ON with the Kitchen Sink device where I do get the option with the FAN device. Is it because the fan is a non dimming SWL and the Kitchen Sink is a dimmable SWL? I'd love to get this working like I have it for the FAN scene. I don't understand why the failure with other scenes?

Since this is for the KPL, does anyone know if the remotelinc buttons can be told to have an on level off?
-
Hi apostolakisi I'm not sure if it matters but I'm not using a KPL here, I'm using a mini remotelinc The reason I have the remote in toggle on only is I'll push the C button and the scene turns on, no problem. I can push other buttons and those scenes turn on. But when I press the C button again to go back to that scene the button is in an ON state so now I shut it off. All the lights fade to black. So the Toggle on only setting for the remote works because anytime anyone presses the button the scene comes on. I can shut the scene off with a KPL that also runs the scene but isn't a part of what we're talking about here. I was able to program the G button on the remotelinc for this. (I'm at work but when I get home I can post that program) When I tried to duplicate it for this issue it didn't work. larryllix; I'll try to do what you've suggested when I get home. I'm not super clear on it but if I read slowly with my finger to help I may get an acceptable result.

Hi larryllix; Thanks for the programming tips. I think I understand most of it but I'm unclear on a few things. First, the Remote Cooking Off - [ID 001A][Parent 0001] program seems pretty straight forward If I understand the above correctly then I input some devices in the scene that would definitively let the ISY know the scene is true. (i.e. Kitchen Uppers 90%, Kitchen Sink 85%, etc) I don't understand this bottom part.

Hi guys, A little background before I get to my problem. I have an 8 button mini remote that is always toggle on (or non toggle on I can't remember the wording) Every press of the buttons sends an ON signal This is so when I switch between the scenes they don't go to black before the next scene is turned on. I'd like to be able to shut the scenes off as well so I thought this program would work. Remote Cooking Off - [ID 001A][Parent 0001] If Control 'BRRemote-C Cooking' is switched On And Control 'BRRemote-C Cooking' is switched On Then Set Scene 'Cooking' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') If the program is on and I turn it on again I thought it should shut off. I've done it with another program on the same remote (a fan that turns on) But I get weird lighting that fades off and turns on again and other oddities. I tried to look for an option that said "if the scene is true and the scene is turned on, then shut the scene off." But I couldn't find that option in the drop down menus I'm not sure what I've done wrong as I thought I did the same for the fan scene. Drew

I believe the cooking program is 'Not Enabled' but I will delete it and see if that helps when I get home tonight. It might be an issue but I disabled it when I started trying to control it with a scene and not a program. Those responder levels are for the Mini Remote and the KPL (I made surreal controllers had the same settings.) Drew

Big Room Program and Screenshots. Big Room Off - [iD 0013][Parent 0001] If Control 'BRRemote-B All Off' is switched On Then Set Scene 'Big Room Off' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')
-
Okay, here's the Cooking scene. I'll post the All Off scene next. Only Cooking - [iD 0014][Parent 0001][Not Enabled] If Control 'BRRemote-C Cooking' is switched On Then Set Scene 'Only Cooking' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

Hi oberkc Thank you for mentioning to copy the scene attributes to each controller. I've done that in this case but in the past have overlooked it. Here's where I am now. When using the Mini Remote the scenes change as I want them to. And the All Off scene shuts all lights off. But the LEDs on the KPL are all over the map. When I press the all off button all Less still light up (except for the A button) When I press the C or F buttons (these buttons trigger scenes that have the LEDs not in use at a level of zero in the scene) LEDs still light up. Is there a way to "Copy To Clipboard" a scene so I can post it here? Drew

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm hoping I can keep the Mini Remote set as Non Toggle On. I've tried to implement what you've said. I put the LED buttons I want to shut off in the scenes and have them at an On Level of 0 This doesn't seem to work as it should. The scene makes sense. When I press the Mini Remote button C The LED comes on. Fine When I press the F Mini Remote Button C remains on and even though all the LEDs are set to Off in the scene D comes on as well. I'm not sure how what lilyoyo1 didn't work. I have a Scene that has all the LEDs off (B button) shut off. It's triggered by this program Big Room Off - [iD 0013][Parent 0001] If Control 'BRRemote-B All Off' is switched On Then Set Scene 'Big Room Off' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') When I press the B button all the LEDs come on If I press it again they shut off momentarily and then come on again. Hi Stu, Thank you for the reply. I do have the LEDs in the scenes (as controllers) When I turn on or switch between scenes using the KPL everything is as it should be. If I turn on a scene using the remote the LED lights. If I then turn on another scene that LED lights as well. (both LEDs are on even though the buttons are Mutually Exclusive? Is this because the KPL buttons are mutually exclusive if pressed but the Remote buttons are not?) I think I'd like to try the Non Toggle On setting. I tried to make a program that would say this... If Scene ABC is not true Then turn LED scene off But the best I seem to be able to do is... New Program - [iD 000E][Parent 0001] If Control 'Big Room KPL-C-Cooking' is not switched On Then Set Scene 'Cooking LED' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') This doesn't seem to do what I want. Hi guys, I have a two part question. 1) I have a KPL and a mini remote that essentially mirror each other (B button on both trigger same scenes etc,) I have the KPL buttons as mutually exclusive so when I press the C button the D LED and scene change, etc. When I press the mini remote buttons the KPL LEDs stay lit even though the scene is no longer true. After a while all the KPL LEDs are lit. (I'm guessing I want to have a program that says "If scene C isn't true then shut off KPL LED C) 2) I would love to have the Mini Remote buttons set for Non Toggle On so they always trigger the scene on when pressed (as opposed to shutting the scene off depending on the state of the button then having to press the same button to turn the desired scene on) But this setting leaves all the KPL LEDs on (back to problem number 1) A this point I'd have to create a scene that would shut all the lights in the room in question off I'm assuming (I.E. When Mini Remote button H is pressed ON then run scene 'shut off all lights' or something like that.) This is a question solely to keep the wife happy. I cannot reiterate the same answers to "Why do all the lights shut off when I push the remote button?" and "All the LEDs are on on the KPL. Why?" (Although the second question has been reworded for the furor, I hear "Why are all the lights on on the light?") Any thoughts would be great. Drew

Hi guys, I have a light that is triggered by a KPL button (not the load) I have a program involved. I press the KPL C button and the light comes on. If the light is on for 4 minutes I have a program to shut the light off. The LED stays on. Am I supposed to make it a scene with the light and the KPL button in it or something like that? Drew

Hi Brian; First off thank you for the fast reply. I followed the link and read through it. I downloaded a file called admin16.jnlp When I click on it I have the same versions now. I've not done anything else so I'm unclear if I'm doing it right. For a while now I've noticed I have to download an odd looking file and click on that to get my ISY GUI up. I used to have an actual app called ISY994i Console. I use a MAC so I'm not sure if this is the new way things are done or if I'm missing something. When I first click on the .jnlp file it says its downloading to my desktop (nothing ends up being there so I assume its a temp file that doesn't stay) I just move the .jnlp file to my Apps folder and use that. I find this odd as it wasn't always like this. Is there something I'm missing? Drew

Hi Guys; I had many communication issues and one of the solutions a member said was to ensure the versions for the UI and the firmware matched. I've updated this morning and see that the Firmware is 4.6.2 and the UI is 4.5.4 Is there a way to fix this? The update seemed to go fine. Drew

Hi guys; So I'm muddling my way through setting up the RL2s and I notice this. When I have a RL2 button trigger a scene that is also triggered by a KPL button (both D buttons if that makes a difference) The KPL LED turns on when the RL2 button is pushed (as I would expect) but when I press the RL2 button to shut off the scene the LED remains lit. Is this what should happen and do I have to write a program that then says if RL2 buttons are pressed off then turn off (*made up scene that only has the KPL LED in it as a responder*)? Also, just to confirm, I can't make a RL2 button control a device directly correct? I have to make a scene with that device in it? Drew

Hi Stu; Its an 8 button RL2 set to the regular mode (on off) for now. Again, when I had it set to non toggle, I couldn't shut anything off. Hi Teken; I think my issue was I'd press scene A on. Then want to press scene B. This would send an OFF signal and leave us literally in the dark. Thus having to press the Scene B button again. I also noticed I can't make the buttons on a RL2 belong to a group like I do with the KPLs. Is there a way to be able to... Send an ON signal by pressing the A button, then... Send an ON signal by pressing the B button? It seems the remote wants to send an ON signal by pressing A and then the next signal it will send will be an OFF signal regardless of what button I press next. Drew (I hope this isn't nonsensical ramblings at this point)

Hi guys; Is there anyway to change this? I tried having them as non toggle on but then I can't shut anything off. (seems to be the opposite issue) non toggle on also ends up lighting up every KPL LED in the house after a few scene changes. Any thoughts? Drew

I always take a quick snapshot of the device on my iPhone and leave it in a folder on the Mac. I also run a topography as well.

Again, I think I'll ask my electrician if he's got a good looking solution as opposed to the junction box approach. There must be an outdoor rated fashionable box other than the galvanized octagons.
-
Will that look good? Or would it look like a junction box mounted to the side of the house with a light screwed on to it?
-
I'll talk to my electrician and see if theres a good looking box as opposed to a clunky piece of Sputnik sticking out of the side of my house that lowers the property value of neighbours' houses.
-
I live in a ranch style so it's above a bedroom. I'll add to the wiring existing in the attic.
-
So... Sounds like this plan is kaput. Any thoughts on how I can do this? To recap; I want to put an LED light up high on an outside wall of my house. The placement of the light would would be high enough that the wiring through the wall could come directly out of the attic. I don't relish the idea of tearing up drywall to run a SWL to the light, hence the ILL. From this discussion it sounds as if it isn't a solution. Drew Stu and Teken I wrote this reply before you posted your replies. I don't think the ILL would fit in a box with the LED light on it (all outside) and look very good.

In the attic. It'll probably hot in summer. I'm not certain how hot it gets up there.
