I am getting ready to upgrade to 3.2.4, I and see this in regards to 3.2.3. I have many Syncrolincs. The only issue I have with them is that the 'Delay' function does not appear to affect the devices. Is this something that will be fixed by deleting them and adding them back in when I go to 3.2.4? If not, I sure do not want that hassle if it is not necessary. I have lots of programs referencing them and do not have a spare to do the add/replace and we still do not have my requested 'phantom devices' What other functionality should I gain by undertaking the large task of removing and adding back these devices when I upgrade from v3.1.17?

If you have dimmers you are not using, then yes, you could use those to trigger scenes with an Insteon I/O module. You will want a ghost load on the dimmers to ensure proper operation. Like maybe a couple of hundred watts probably. You could try a 100w bulb or a 60w. I am assuming these are 2.4k dimmers. Then you could use the output of the dimmer to trigger a relay that would be the contact closure for the Insteon input device like the one you linked to. Or even simpler, if you only need a couple is this: http://www.smarthome.com/24950A2/I-O-Li ... Kit/p.aspx and just have the sensor see the ghost load... I think your sense wire idea would work as well, but again, I think you are going to want that ghost load on the dimmer output. I do not know how sensitive the sense wire is, but easy enough to play with...

frustratednon-geek, Yes this is possible right now, but not super easy. There is no direct Insteon to DMX or DMX to Insteon converter that I am aware of. Your most likely solution, if you only need control of a few Insteon scenes from the Elation board is a DMX contact closure module and some Insteon I/O input modules, like an I/O link for each scene you want to control or one of the EZIO modules that can have lots of inputs. Then you need a DMX to contact closure interface. You could talk to the people at Pathway Connectivity. http://www.pathwayconnect.com/ They already have a product: http://www.pathwayconnect.com/content/view/30/29/ that will do 12 Scenes. Another great resource would be Doug Fleenor Design: http://www.dfd.com/ He also has a product that I believe is exactly what you are looking for and it already is in an enclosure: http://www.dfd.com/6r1a.html His stuff is fantastic. I have used dozens of his products in professional settings with no failures ever.

I have a bunch of those programs that run when I am in 'Away' mode. As such, the final off time is real important because I may not be home for a long time to see a light stuck on. If the command is missed because of a collision with another event etc. the light would stay on till the next night. As I am not home during this 'Off' event, I figured why not throw some repeats in there just to make sure. Mostly cause it is so easy.

You could use similar code to control your water feature. Just set the proper time parameters in the if. The random wait times create your random feature. SynchroLinc 2423A5. In the options for this device there is a setting for Holdoff (Secs). I cannot detect any behavior change in the device regardless of how I manipulate this settings. I have tried on multiple different SynchroLincs, all with the same result. The device reports on/off the same whether I have this set for 1.34s or 10.5s. Any thoughts? Anyone else having this issue? I thought that this would be a setting for holding off on the reporting of device status change until that amount of time had lapsed and the device is still in the new state, which would have been great for me. As it is, I had to make a program with a wait time to act in this fashion.

Michel!! I worry you may have misunderstood... We know you are kidding about the spare ISYs. Both ELA and I are talking about better PLMs. Although it is cool to know your failure rates. Thanks for that little tidbit.

Funny Michel ELA, I have most definitely considered keeping a spare, but I can never pull the trigger on the purchase. Each time I bail because of this probably flawed thought process: Maybe soon they will come out with newer/better firmware. Or even better, maybe they will come out with a more advanced model with awesome new features. Like maybe one with a bigger database. Or faster processor. Or two external antennas. Or a bigger internal power supply that can again supply juice to the ISY. Or a pass thru outlet. Or the ultimate for me: switches to turn off power line and RF connectivity for troubleshooting. I am kinda surprised there is not a pro model of this product with three times the price and some advanced features, as it is one of the most important components along with the ISY. So I always pull the aux PlM from my cart before purchase, thinking surely soon there will be a pro model.

If you do not have an iPad, no it is not worth it. Even if you do have an iPad, I actually prefer the blown up size of mobile link pro versus the different interface of mobile link HD. Mostly is a change in the user interface. I have friends that actually greatly prefer the high resolution and attractive graphics of the mobile link HD on their iPad. Right click on the device in the Admin Console. Disable Device. Otherwise, indeed, ISY will complain. Next year, reverse procedure to enable device.

What happened to the notes on changes to 3.1.16?

I have holiday modules. I unplug them and store them every year. I disable them in the ISY to avoid comm issues and have been very pleased with this approach with no known negative issues.

The program you included a picture of will never turn the porch light off as no where in the program is there a command to turn the porch light off.

Greg, Thanks so much for that post. Indeed that is the cause of my program failures. I had several programs fail to run yesterday. All the failed programs look to other programs as a flags for evaluation. All the failed programs were looking to a program flag that should have been true, but got turned false. Michel, Do you still want me to send all the programs over to you? It seems unnecessary as Greg has found the cause of my failures.

Daylight saving time change. This program did not run this morning: If From Sunrise - 29 minutes To Sunset + 29 minutes (same day) And Program 'Away Flag' is False And Program 'Keypads are Dim' is True Then Run Program 'Backlight level Bright' (Then Path) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Program last run time and last finish time fields were blank, as were most of my other programs as well. It was not a reboot as my system status start-up info shows last restart last month (with install of 3.1.10).
