  1. NEVER do a delete PLM. It's also a good ideal to do an ISY backup before you replace the PLM. Attached is the detailed PLM replacement guidelines. Replace ISY PLM.pdf
  2. Here's the ISY Wiki link for correcting the font issue https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Main_Page#Fonts_too_Small
  3. Correct. Be sure to add all the switches to your scenes as CONTROLLERS. All the devices in your scene will then be in sync
  4. You never want to link the switches to one another before adding them to the ISY. What you need to do is uninstall them from the ISY, do a factory reset on each switch to remove the cross links, the add them to the ISY, one at a time. After adding to the ISY create scene and add both switches to the scene as controllers. The switches will then be in sync with one another and either switch will control the load.
  5. DeShark, Can you post a screen shot of one of the scenes. Are all the lights connected to the load wire on the KPLs?
  6. Brian, this is from the Smarthome site. Looks like they increased the memory, added a piezo sounder, and a few other features. New features: Built-in Dual-Band with RF function, acts like an Access Point for phase bridging and RF to/from power line 2,000+ links (compared to around 1000+ links previously) Added a beep sounder Red/Green LED light Supports faster reading and writing of the PLM's database by another controller Much lighter weight No pass-through outlet
  7. It never hurts to have a spare PLM TVs, power supplies, UPS, and some CFL bulbs are notorious for creating noise on the powerline that interferes with the Insteon signal. I always keep a few spare Filterlincs on hand just in case. Glad to hear you got your issue resolved Here's a few links to troubleshooting Insteon communication issues https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=INSTEON:_Troubleshooting_Communications_Errors https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=INSTEON_Signal_/_Noise_Troubleshooting
  8. Do a factory reset then a restore device on the Chandelier switch. You should also do the same with the KPL. It's not unusual for the links to get corrupted in the KPLs, especially the older ones. If the problem continues you may have noise on the powerline and / or other issues.
  9. Your program looks correct. Not sure why it's not working. Try removing the Ramp Rate line. Are you sure you have good communications between the ISY and your switch.
  10. Here's the replace PLM procedure Replace ISY PLM.pdf
  11. Add a second Aeon siren or range extender in the workshop. The door locks have limited range.
  12. That could be the root of your problem. Did the keypad that failed have the load connected to it, if so what type of load is it? It's also possible that you have some type of interference on the circuit that the problem keypad is on. I would also try another factory reset / restore device before you replace it. You should also take a look at this article https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=INSTEON:_Troubleshooting_Communications_Errors
  13. If they show as red then they're controllers. Make sure that in your scene both of the buttons that control your light have their on level set at 100%, or the on level you want. In theory should work as expected. It's possible that the links in the keypad got corrupted. Try doing a restore device for each keypad. If that doesn't work then do a factory reset on each keypad then a restore device. Let me know if that resolved the problem.
  14. Apparently the scenes still are enabled when the keypad is disabled, I thought otherwise. . All the links for the scenes are stores in the devices themselves. I guess your only other option is to pull out the air gap switch on the keypad as there's no way to disable a scene.
  15. All the keypad buttons need to be in the scene as Controllers. Once they're in the scene you can set the ON level and RAMP rate for each button in the scene. If you installed the button(s) as Responders then you'll need to remove them from the scene and add them back as controllers.
  16. Both switches need to be in the scene as Controllers. Remove the switch from the scene that's a responder then add it back as a controller. The load wire on the switch that's not connected to the light should be capped off.
  17. Depending on the distance between your house and the workshop you might be able to couple the two via RF using two range extenders, or plug in dual band modules, one in each location. Mount them as high up as possible and as close as possible to one another. The easiest way to find out if it will work is to give it a try
  18. If you right click on a device and then click on delete it will remove all the device's links in both the ISY and the PLM, as if the device never existed. If the device is in a folder you have to remove the device from a folder before deleting it. If you have any programs or scenes that included the device then the device will also be removed from them as well. If you want to reinstall the device it's best to do a factory reset before again linking it to the ISY
  19. The error message is a Driver error. Not sure what would cause this error. You might try uninstalling it from the ISY, do a factory reset again, then try to reinstall it. It's possible the device failed. What's the 4 digit date code and version number on the device sticker?
  20. The green led shows the status of the device, i.e. on or off The IOLincs are powerline only devices. If you have interference on the powerline it could affect the ability to communicate. As PaulBates suggested do a factory reset and restore device. If that doesn't work then try locating the IOLinc close to a dual band device for test purposes. Lastly, there's always the remote possibility that the IOLinc took a trip South.
  21. Yes, right click on the device in the device tree and click on Disable or in a program you can do the following: IF Then (device name) Disable Else The program's "then clause" can be called by a timer, or the push of a button on another KPL, etc.
  22. Do a factory reset on the switch with the load, then a restore device.
  23. The hidden door sensor ships with a spacer (shim) that you can place behind the sensor thus moving the sensor closer to the door. That will help close the gap between the edge of the door and the sensor.
  24. Techman replied to BradS's topic in ISY994
How are you trying to delete the scene? What devices are in the scene? Did you right click on the scene then click delete?
