Davis WeatherLink Live
@Tominnh Hi, I have the Davis Weather console connected using the IP dongle. This works well to update to the WeatherLink cloud and have local access using a PC running the proprietary WeatherLink software. However as far as I know there has never been an API available for 3rd party access until the WeatherLink Live came along. Gary Just did a little search and there may now be an API available for WeathLink.com

@bpwwerHi, I had an error occur early this morning so I thought I would pass it along. I would see an error similar to this if I had requested the data from the PC while polisy was still polling. I assume the weatherlink live can't support more that one connection at a time. This was early in the morning and nothing else accesses the weatherlink live so I am not sure why the error popped up. It is Ethernet connected powered by POE on a UPS backed up switch. This has never happened just out of the blue. Restarted and runs fine again. Thanks Gary 2020-04-02 03:46:40,661 [Controller] [ERROR] Exception in thread Controller: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/local/lib/python3.7/threading.py", line 926, in _bootstrap_inner self.run() File "/usr/local/lib/python3.7/threading.py", line 870, in run self._target(*self._args, **self._kwargs) File "/var/polyglot/.local/lib/python3.7/site-packages/polyinterface/polyinterface.py", line 856, in _parseInput self.shortPoll() File "./wll.py", line 83, in shortPoll self.query_conditions() File "./wll.py", line 200, in query_conditions self.setDriver('BARPRES', float(record['bar_sea_level']), True, False) TypeError: float() argument must be a string or a number, not 'NoneType'

Dryer notification with CT
Of course as more and more appliances become WiFi enabled all this may become moot. We'll be asking for Polisy node servers for the different appliances. Hopefully they will have local API access.

Dryer notification with CT
For me I had no problem taking the dryer apart. I did also add a current sensor on one of the legs in the dryer. That way I would know if the dryer is on and also when the drying cycle is finished which happens before the dryer actually turns off. My vent goes directly out the back through the wall. Not sure if there would be any room for a flapper. Nice to have the older type dryer. Would defiantly need to revisit with a newer dryer.

Dryer notification with CT
In my case I just replaced the end of cycle signal 110v buzzer with a 110v momentary relay. Then into any dry input contact device like the insteon EZIO6I. Gary

It did resister when I starting getting rain. After rebooting the ISY after an update "yearly rain" didn't get filled in. I thought a query on the NS would bring it in but didn't. It is fine now but after the next re-boot of the ISY it will probably not show up again until rain is detected. Thanks Gary

It is in the local polyglot nodeserver store called WeatherLink. It supports the Davis WeatherLink Live unit.

Hi bpwwer Weather Link has been working great. Thanks. I have run across one issue. The Yearly rain doesn't appear to be conveyed from the NS to the ISY. I don't see that filled in on the admin console. I do see it in the Weatherlink NS log however. I think it has always been filled in until I upgraded to v.5.0.16b. Not sure that would have anything to do with it or not. No rush at all but maybe take a look later. Thanks Gary Update: Yearly rain showed up after I started receiving some rain today. So it seems to be working. I had thought that a query would have brought it up. Thanks

"Hmmm, <device> is not responding." every other command
I too have started to get the "device not responding" message. Also some slow downs of routines . I notified Amazon about the issue. In the past I was getting sporadic long delays in responses or no responses to routines I had set up. Mostly voice responses. Now like then I told them that their servers for my area are under powered. I see we are all from the same general area. I could be wrong about this but in the past the problem cleared shortly after my issue was escalated up to their engineering staff. Gary

Somfy integration - URTSii or ZRTSi ?
jfailenschmid Hi I have the Somfy MyLink and use tcp commands setup in the ISY's network resources to control Somfy motors. You mentioned a node server for MyLink but I was not able to find any in PolyGlot for the MyLink. Just the URTSii that uses a serial connection. Is a MyLink node server something that may be available in the future? Thanks for any info. Gary

Hi Jim I just saw the update in the store and gave it a try. It comes back with pullRepo: undefined. I also stopped weatherlink and tried the update but same result. Thanks Gary I tried again and rebooted the ISY and PolyGlot and all is working now. Thanks

Hi Jim Everything works perfectly. I was wondering if maybe we could replace 'Rain Size' with a more useful reading like 'Rainfall year' . I finally found that Rain Size just means what the spoons are calibrated to tip at (factory set). Either 0.01 inches or 5 mm . Even though the spoon calibration can mechanically be adjusted I don't think this reading will change. It also can't be changed through WeatherLink software. Thanks Gary

Hi Jim I don't have the soil sensor but I was thinking about it. But the cost is a bit high and probably not useful in my situation.. No water sprinklers to active if the grass needs water. I have set up wind programs to retract the SunSetter awning if the gust gets to high. All works great and again thanks. Gary

Under Cabinet Lighting
Hi larryllix I am looking for bright white led strips at around 3000k. The rgbww looks like the best choice. All the brands seem to use the same wifi controller. At least it looks that way. I just need one that is rgbww and comparable with the Magic Home or Yee Light node server. Can't seem to fine Magic or Yee that have the rgbww.

Under Cabinet Lighting
Hi I am looking to install some LED under cabinet lighting in the Kitchen. I noticed there is a node server for Magic Home and Yee Light. Was wondering if anyone has experience with these as to brightness and white light. Looking for the absolute brightest. I assume neither of these need the cloud to function after configuration. Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Gary

Jim One thing I learned is if you connect the WLL on Ethernet and use you phone app on WI-FI you may not get the live stream unless multicast is enabled on your switch if that is your setup.

bpwwer Hi, Just saw the Rain Rate parameter available this morning. Gave it a try and all looks good. Everything looks perfect. Great addition for my ISY to be able to see live weather data directly from the Davis Weather station locally with no cloud involvement. The ISY will now be able to close my patio awning in case of any high wind guest. I have it set to poll every 30 seconds and all works perfectly. Thank a lot for all your effort and expertise. Gary

I checked rain rate on the live app and it did show 0.01.

Hi Everything look Great. I tripped the bucket once and Daily Rain registered correctly. No sure however if any value should have been registered for Rain Rate. I included the values received after bucket trip. All looks great. Thanks Gary Values received. 2019-08-01 18:52:52,061 [Controller] [DEBUG] {'error': None, 'data': {'conditions': [{'trans_battery_flag': 0, 'rain_rate_last': 1, 'rain_storm_start_at': 1564620601, 'rain_rate_hi': 1, 'rainfall_daily': 1, 'wind_speed_hi_last_2_min': 1.0, 'wind_dir_scalar_avg_last_1_min': 75, 'temp': 83.0, 'wind_dir_at_hi_speed_last_10_min': 77, 'rain_storm': 20, 'wind_dir_last': 0, 'thw_index': 88.8, 'wind_dir_scalar_avg_last_2_min': 75, 'wind_dir_scalar_avg_last_10_min': 76, 'lsid': 246652, 'wind_chill': 83.0, 'txid': 1, 'wind_speed_avg_last_10_min': 0.56, 'wind_speed_avg_last_2_min': 0.31, 'rainfall_last_24_hr': 20, 'hum': 69.4, 'wind_speed_last': 0.0, 'uv_index': None, 'rainfall_last_15_min': 1, 'data_structure_type': 1, 'rainfall_last_60_min': 1, 'rainfall_year': 20, 'wind_dir_at_hi_speed_last_2_min': 75, 'rain_storm_last': None, 'rx_state': 0, 'heat_index': 88.8, 'rainfall_monthly': 1, 'dew_point': 71.9, 'thsw_index': None, 'rain_storm_last_start_at': None, 'rain_rate_hi_last_15_min': 1, 'wind_speed_hi_last_10_min': 2.0, 'wind_speed_avg_last_1_min': 0.31, 'rain_storm_last_end_at': None, 'rain_size': 1, 'solar_rad': None, 'wet_bulb': 74.3}, {'hum_in': 53.7, 'data_structure_type': 4, 'lsid': 246588, 'heat_index_in': 73.6, 'temp_in': 73.7, 'dew_point_in': 55.9}, {'bar_sea_level': 30.076, 'data_structure_type': 3, 'bar_absolute': 29.417, 'lsid': 246587, 'bar_trend': -0.027}], 'did': '001D0A710A19', 'ts': 1564699971}}

Thanks. I did the git for the update. Can't see the rain change yet. Maybe I'll need to go tip the bucket. Hopefully get a little rain later. A separate node sounds good. It would be much easier to pick out the indoor measurements. Thanks Gary

bpwwer hi Just got a little rain and noticed one thing . The daily rain is expressed in a whole number rather than in one hundredths of an inch. Screen shows 15 instead of 0.15 inches. One bucket trip would equal 0.01 inches. Not sure what rain rate should look like. It shows 75 inches per hour during the rain. During the same time the phone app was showing a rate of 0.75 inches per hour which was changing often. I am thinking that it should be expressed as one hundredth of an inch also. The 75 would equal 0.75. Everything else looks perfect. Thanks Gary UPDATE: I see now that programs use pulse counts in conditions for these parameters. So this would be fine than.
