Thank You. That info will keep me busy for now. I forgot to ask about changing a devices type, I meant to. I assume from the other info I have seen, that the change will persist over reloads etc.

@shbatm I understand we were getting a bit off topic...So getting back to my original question. See above Secondly In my folder for outside I have 22 devices. They are a mixture of outdoor lincs, Keypads, toggle switches, paddle switches, etc. Looking at the integration entities, I see some are switches and some are lights. Can you point me to where I should look to see how this is determined, and will any of this be changing in the next major release. Thanks Steve

@asbril I am no expert on HA as I have only been using it for a few weeks, but the first thing I would do is delete it and try reloading it. I checked the HA forum and found this as the first place to look if you get this error. Status: Not Loaded When you see this message you have one or more resources downloaded with HACS that are not properly loaded in Lovelace. To find out what element it is, look for the repository with a "Not Loaded" header in the Frontend section of HACS.

@MrBill @vbPhil Thanks both of you. After a bit of playing with the card, using the code editor and your example, I have a basic room card working. Steve
-
@vbPhil If you don't mind can you tell me which version? When I look in HACS I see: main, 2.5.1, 2.5.2, 2.5.3, 2.6.0 and 2.6.1 I tried 2.6.0 and 2.6.1 and it isn't there Thanks again
-
@vbPhil Thanks for the fast response. My mushroom custom light card is different than yours. It does show the same type as yours if I look at it in the code editor. I am only allowed to enter one entity. I don't see the options you have such as property, value. I have v 2.6.1, the latest mushroom downloaded. Do I need to get it from somewhere else? Thanks

Good Morning from Rainy CA I have been playing around with HA for a couple weeks now, just using mushroom, lovelace and a couple custom cards. So far so good. I have not used YAML and don't see using it in the future. It is way above my abilities at the moment. I am now trying to setup various rooms and their corresponding lights. I stumbled across the area card and it appears to be just what I need. I see that the HA implementation has carried across the folders that I have in the ISY/Polisy setup to the area field in HA. All well and good. I setup an area card and see a toggle switch. There are multiple switches in the room and the toggle switch turns on/off all of them at one time. I would prefer a toggle for each switch. Is this something coming in the new release scheduled for next month along with all the new changes? Or do I need to figure out another way to do what I want? There is no hurry here I can easily wait if it saves me a lot of work. Also, if anyone has another suggestion for how to do this I would appreciate you letting me know. I have about 20 rooms and over 75 switches so I want to get this right before I spend a lot of time on it. Thanks Steve

Hi I don't have the PG3 nodeserver running, but I am using the Home Assistant solar edge integration. I don't know what connection you have from the inverter to the internet. In my case, I have their zigbee connection. I have a lot of issues with the zigbee connection dropping. When it does, I get zero values or non numeric data in numeric fields. You can see if the zigbee connection is up by looking at your inverter for the S_OK message. Granted it is not the same as you, but your symptoms might be due to bad data I am seeing too. As an aside, their servers at the moment have sent me a message that they are running slow. Steve

if it is any help to @bpwwer. I have 6 nodesevers running. Kasa, Rainmachine, Flume, weather link, wireless tags, and Yolink. Yolink is the only one displaying the version number. I am running 3.1.18 have been leery of upgrading, due to some issues I have seen, as this version is very stable.
-
I noticed the same thing on most of my node servers. Awhile back, PG3 quit displaying the version number. 5 out of my 6 node servers just show production like you show in your screenshot
-
thanks @Mecheng70 just added it. I can see it will make migrating to my HA Yellow simple when it arrives.

as an aside... I don't use the tesla nodeserver so can't comment on the polling interval. My tesla model s was using 2KW per day just while sitting in the garage. After much searching on the internet, I found that I could reduce this to zero by turning off the "cabin overheat protection". The car was NOT turning on the ac/heating. For some reason, this setting kept the car awake all the time which used the 2 KW per day. So if your polling often, this might be what would be expected in usage.

@asbril I see you lucked out and got it after all. I am envious. I hope you start a Yellow box migration thread , if you have any. Steve

Weatherlink entities not all showing up in Home Assistant
stevehoyt posted a topic in Home Assistant
Hi @shbatm et al I have the weatherlink PG3 Node Server running. When I check in Home Assistant only a couple entries show up.... Weather link query, enabled, device communication, and a sensor, which though enabled won't let me use it in any cards. It always changes the name to weatherlink instead of sensor.weatherlink. Hence it appears some connection is being made between HA and the weather link Node Server info. As you can see from my screen shots below, there is a lot of info I would like to access in HA. I have reloaded both the integration and restarted HA. Am I missing something? Should I be able to see all in weather link info in HA. Thanks -
Good Morning Just upgraded and the temp is there now. Thank You

Many Entities Disabled Can Enable them and they work.
stevehoyt replied to stevehoyt's topic in Home Assistant
thanks for the reply and link @shbatm I understand the clutter part, as I have over 1000 entities from ISY at the moment. Once I understand things a bit better, I will have some major house keeping to do which I suspect will involve liberal use of the ignore capability -
I am new to HA and the ISY Integration. I am running the release version of the Integration not the alpha one. I have been playing a bit and have noticed that many entities come across as disabled. They seem to be many different types. In one case, I wanted to use display a variable. It showed up fine but as disabled. I enabled it and all was good. I could use it in a card. Can anyone give me an idea why this/many variable(s) show up disabled and just needed to be manually enabled Is this normal? Will this will change in future releases or will I have to reenable stuff every time I update? Thanks Steve

Home Assistant / Polisy ISY Node Server vs HA Integrations
stevehoyt replied to stevehoyt's topic in Home Assistant
@DaveStLou Given my HA Yellow got pushed to late August, I decided to try another approach, so I can kick the tires too. I went with installing a supervised version on windows 11 using the Microsoft Hyper-V. For a novice I was surprised how easy it went. I had it all up and running in a matter of hours and have Pentair and Yolink integrated and a barebones house dashboard built. I am holding off on importing my Polisy ISY Insteon devices for awhile, as I have over 100 and need to get my HA legs first. -
Home Assistant / Polisy ISY Node Server vs HA Integrations
stevehoyt replied to stevehoyt's topic in Home Assistant
Looks like good news for you and bad for me. My order just got moved to august 31st. @asbril see below if you did not get a notice. Backers are at the front of the queue. At this point, we’ve delivered enough units to fulfill all backer orders and >95% of the crowdfunding units have shipped to backers. you are an original crowdfunding backer (ordered before October 27, 2021) and have not received your unit, then your order got stuck for some reason (payment issue, delivery address issue, or similar). In that case, please contact Crowd Supply support if they haven’t already been in touch with you. We also fulfilled many of the pre-orders placed since October 27, 2021. At this point, there are 1,941 units on the way to Mouser’s warehouse. They are already in the U.S. and are expected to arrive at the warehouse before the end of February. -
I have decided to embark down the hybrid path of having a Polisy running ISY with various node servers and Home Assistant. My Home Assistant yellow is ordered and has a 6 week wait time. I have started watching HA tutorials in hopes of having a plan setup for when it arrives. I expect to be asking a number of question in the next few months. My plan was to keep most programming in the ISY part and use HA mostly for creating great visual displays around the house where needed. My first question is about HA integrations vs node servers. A number of the node servers I am running: Yolink, Wtags, Flume, etc have HA integrations. I assume having both an integration and a node server for the same device won't be an issue. All will sync up fine. Can someone confirm this and let me know if this is true. Also are there pitfalls to taking this approach, which might lead to sometimes using a device via the ISY path and sometimes via an integration path. I don't know enough about how cards etc are created to have any idea which I would most likely tend to prefer, when building screens. Thanks Steve

I just installed this Node Server. Install went with no problems. I noticed in the writeup and upon testing, that no values are available for the Air Quality Index monitors. I have 2 of them. One inside and one outside. Any chance of adding these in the future. No rush. Thanks AirLink Air Quality Monitor by Davis Instruments BY DAVIS INSTRUMENTS SKU 7210

look under pg3 node servers... it is close to the bottom

you might check the yolink thread here for future needs. There is a discussion about remotes
