  1. I'm with OberKc on this. The off command is always sent when hitting off so the status of your lights should not matter.
  2. Contract your device mfg since updating isn't universal. They'll be able to send you the update file (if one is available) along with instructions. You may also find that information on their website
  3. Even if you could see your network map, it would change as you removed devices. I'd start with insteon first if that's your smallest setup. Then go with zwave from closest to farthest devices with a focus on least used devices. If you have a dense network, you probably won't impact things as much as you think as long as you leave enough devices within range of your controllers for both systems
  4. Yes, this is possible.
  5. There's a ton of information on how nwi and zwave works if you Google it. Since you're an EE, there's also developer information that you'll find on silicon labs website.
  6. Most cheap zwave devices are made by the same people who in turn stamps whatever company that's trying to sell it name on the product.
  7. The one thing about this forum is that people are willing to help you learn but you have to also show that you are willing to help yourself. People keep linking the same links to you for you to look at them. They provide the information you're asking about for every zwave device out there. You just have to take the time to read them and help educate yourself as well.
  8. Version 2 is 700 series
  9. The links in the tips and tricks section takes you to the 700 series devices
  10. To be honest with you, i think most (if not all) of us had forgotten about it until you bought it back up. We have pretty short memories. You're good
  11. The only way to know for certain would be to call around to different mfg. Their people probably won't know either but that would be your best bet
  12. If you're expecting mfg. to cover every detail it probably won't happen. I'm actually surprised zooz says what not to use their stuff with
  13. I didn't see that in their documentation except for the tube lights (which will have issues with insteon as well). They say do not use in switched outlets but that's for all of them as you cannot control what gets plugged into a switched outlet. Generally (insteon as well) as long as it's directly controlling something within it's specs, you'll be fine.
  14. Probably best if you Google it since are so many manufacturers. You'll have to check their specs. With that said, where did you read that at about zooz?
  15. This has already been discussed as well as proven that Polisy supports the 2413s via the DB9 port as well as the 2413u and 2448a7 USB stick. Not only has Michel stated that it works, there are many here (including myself with 2) using Polisy with the 2413s
  16. Make sure you clear your Java cache and the firmware and UI matches. Did you try saving your program again? Simply click on a line, hit update and save. Also run the "then" section to see if that work.
  17. I Googled how to remove a device in the isy and found it in the wiki. It's under remove a device. https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY_Users:V5:ZWave:User_Guide
  18. I'm not sure what your variable is set to do but as i read it, once it turns 1 (i assume it's dark), the light should come on. If you only want it to happen when you turn the switch on, shouldn't you add "and switch is turned on" to the if statement?
  19. It doesn't really matter. The strength and ability to use either comes from having a strong network via multiple devices vs 1 singular device. If/when you build out your network properly, you'll see a difference
  20. Yes which is why I provided the information above as well as the information in the tips and tricks
  21. It's supported. NWI isn't a catch all. Your network starting point is poor which may be part of the issue. As you build your network out, things will get better. The idea is to start closest and move your way out. You're already starting waaay out.
  22. They'll end up with a check for 25cents after preordering 200 dollars worth of product.
  23. All this Matter talk takes me back to when homekit came out and that was all the rage.
