ecobee stats do averaging also. Just include both sensors in the enables for that schedule segment (climate) However IRC 'follow me' disables averaging by only following the last seen motion sensor. Sent from my SM-G781W using Tapatalk

After playing with three temperature sensors for a few years I finally stopped using them. There are too many logical problems with that idea. Now I just use them to monitor what is happening between rooms. Here is one problem. Let's say you want to control the temperature of your bedroom at nights and you like it cool for sleeping. Now you have a variety of season, where you are and it is spring or fall and your house temperature won't fall back quickly enough in the evenings. So, although the bedroom sensor is the only active one the room is still hot and you open the window to accelerate the cooling process and go to sleep. Middle of the night and finally a slight breeze cools off your bedroom. The ecobee remote sensor sees it, running your furnace to maintain the desired setpoint. With the window open and poor air supply to that remote bedroom the furnace cannot keep up. Now you wake up in the morning to a cold room and when you get out of bed and go to the main rooms of the house they are about 80-85F. With the well insulated homes these days the biggest problem for heating is the setback speed . There is not much you can do about it and no thermostat ever takes that into consideration using predictive logic. That is what I had my ISY do. Dependent on outside temperatures, I would set my ecobee back earlier or later so that my bedroom temperature would be some sort of compromise between watching late night TV wrapped in heated blankets, and being comfortable in a cool bed. After many different styles of predictive setback and other HVAC system ideas I finally just stopped using remote sensors. I found all the new ideas ecobee+ provides, are mostly useless in a modern home, that is too slow to respond. However, I do enable the ecobee+ feature in order to get temperature compensation due to humidity levels. The rest is disabled. Making me uncomfortable just to save a few pennies is not on my sacrifice list.

Yeah. New start.jnlp and cleared cache several times but it always ran the old IoX Launcher and gave "Not Found" errors. Then the IoX Launcher found in the Start menu wouldn't let me delete it as it would only refer me to the program deletion app. You can't delete java programs from there, only MS style coded things. The best of AI from Windoze 11 where they know more about what you want then you will.

You know the dumb thing is that last time I got sick of spending hours looking for this file everytime I did an update, and saved the URL and the file into a folder on my desktop. What do ya' know?, the link file disappeared??? and none of the start.jnlp files would work correctly anyway. It seems they were not the right versions.
-
Thanks but I just discovered that clearing your java cache does not function anymore. When you clear your cache it is all "Temporary Files", and now start, jnlp installs the Iox Launcher in the permanent java files directory, wherever that is. It seemed that the start.jnlp found the old Iox Launcher in the permanent java file and refused to update it. It seems it states it automatically determines which ISY OS version you are running (as claimed when released a few years ago ) and thought it does not need to be updated?? After you delete the permanent files (I had two installed) I ran the start.jnlp again and all was forgiven. The IoX Launcher was installed correctly into java and a link to it was install into my Win 11 Start menu also. It was a simple job to post a link to it into my taskbar again from there. Tested and working. This didn't work anymore as java doesnt seem to use it when there is a more permanent version available. <see below>

That is the first time I have ever seen any link to the ISY, IoP, or IoX launcher. I have seen it mentioned to load it likely 40-50 times but nobody has ever mentioned where to find it, that I read. Last time I asked I saved links to download it but they seemed to have all changed into outdated start.jnlp files again. Now having installed v5.7.0 that went well, I now need to find the IoX Launcher again. The link loads the start.jnlp file and it installed an IoX Launcher on my desktop but running it resulted in a previous version that gave me the "Not Found" boxes again. Deleting that I cannot find an IoX Launcher with the nice avatar it had originally. Reloading the start.jnlp file only gave that avatar. However it does run the IoX Launcher indirectly. Where do I get the raw IoX Launcher with IoX icon from...or is it not available anymore? OK found it. It hides the IoX Launcher in the Start menus...ooops, sorry... just another copy of the old IoX launcher. deleted. I suspect too much magic going on here. Is it still available somewhere?

Polisy SSD Image Restore Process For A Corrupt SSD
larryllix replied to btreinders's topic in Polisy
"this" thread. OP. v5.7.0 installed quite nicely and seems to be behaving very well. It seems the install did it's FIVE beeps and another beep about 30 seconds later, and then repeated that sequence again later. Seems like it may have rebooted, again?? The variable value grab has been fixed...Thanks a million for that one.! I have been watching and waiting for that for about 5 years now. I never saw any mention of it and gave up updating my polisy(s). That eliminated about 100 lines of Wait code and made lighting much less pop-corn..ish. My NRbridge software can take the GET packets as fast as ISY NR can put them out, and cache them there if required. I'll find out how deep the python 3 buffer is. Love it! -
Polisy SSD Image Restore Process For A Corrupt SSD

Very strange. The OS I am running was upgraded just a few months ago. The next version seems to be v5.7.0 but I read too many negatives regarding it so far, so I thought I would wait until something that benefited my system was produced and with less hard to resolve failures. Have you read this thread? -
Polisy SSD Image Restore Process For A Corrupt SSD
larryllix replied to btreinders's topic in Polisy
That link goes nowhere. Was it supplied correctly? I don't use Zwave (anymore), or Zigbee and my only node server (ecobee) works 100% all the time so recent updates do not benefit my system. However, as I posted, the ISY bugs since v5.0.1 still remain. NRs still use old data due to execute time variable usage and not call time values. This means NR cannot be used without a Wait 1-3 seconds between them. Makes very slow device changes and there is no guarantee ISY will send out what it was asked to send. Modulus calculations still output incorrect results. These have been reported several times since variable substitution and decimal variables were created. Here is a screenshot of my latest IoX Finder. Note both URLs have always been installed manually by myself. I has been the case for several years. -
Program help - Cant get the And and Ors working correctly
larryllix replied to EJones01's topic in IoX Support
The "is not 100%" puzzles me as a gottcha' Why not use "On" as some devices may have a round off error and show 99%? I am not sure if this problem can still exist but IIRC it gave some problems years back. -
My IoX Launcher gives two "Not found" boxes as well every boot up. My IoX launcher shows both the non-HTTPS access URL and the HTTP:// access version. I wish we could just go back to the old URL method of accessing ISY. The IoX Launcher can never be found when new updates are installed, the self updatng version never materialised, it never has found my ISY URL and always had to be installed manually, and now, I have to clear two "Not Found" boxes off the screen to use it and terrified it could ruin my polisy SSD when I update next time. Yeah, I know the IoX Launcher can be installed from one of the UDI's 6,000 webpages but they always seem to be secret and my saved links never work two months after I save them.

Polisy SSD Image Restore Process For A Corrupt SSD
larryllix replied to btreinders's topic in Polisy
Thanks. Sounds like I will never advance to further versions on my polisy. I haven't really seen any bug fixes since v5.0.1 that would improve my system and the risk sounds too great. Not sure I want to spend that much time, frustration and money if things go south. I will wait until a more stable release comes out...hopefully. -
ISY Can Control Anything Your Alexa Can Control
larryllix replied to apostolakisl's topic in Amazon Echo
Yeah but the 30 Seconds is not for each device. It is for any command. This means if you closed one blind you cannot operate any other device for another 30 seconds, and you have no way of knowing it failed. I use this pseudodevice method for many vocal announcements but would not trust it for operating devices reliably. Sent from my SM-G781W using Tapatalk -
Fortunately the ecobee stats do not need any ISY control at all. They can be setup to do more complex things alone without outside interference. I had two Insteon stats and one came as uncontrollable junk, new. Their features were like comparing a bicycle to a Cadillac.

Put some ventilation spacers underneath or stand it vertically by some means. Spacers can be short pipe slices or hex nuts. Sent from my SM-G781W using Tapatalk

Put in a ticket. UDI wants to see it and fix it for the rest of the users.

My point was with two separate programs using each a single time point trigger there is no point setting Run At Startup or manually using Run If on either program because they will both always only Run the Else portion of each program and do nothing for your variable. Event trigger (only) elements in ISY always test false unless they, themselves, triggered the program logic to be tested. Then they will test True. Only time ranges will test accurately using the startup or manual run if techniques. Sent from my SM-G781W using Tapatalk
-
@gregkinney It doesn't always work depending on your program conditions.
-
If you have two programs with a single time trigger for sunrise or sunset in each then running "If" manually, calling them from another program, or [Enable Run at Startup] will always fail. The result of running a trigger only element test in ISY programming is always FALSE. ISY trigger only elements are only ever found True when they trigger the same programs.| However, the From xxx time... To yyy time... is not only a dual trigger aas well as a filter style condition that can be evaluated as True, aor as False, during manual "If" running, [Enable to run at startup], and subroutine style calls from other programs.
-
Typically RESTORE will fix wayward devices. It writes what ISY thinks should be in the devices into a device. This can be found by right clicking on a device name and selecting it. However in the last few versions it has become much more complicated and needs to be followed by a WRITE or an UPDATE or more complexity than it previously was. Sent from my SM-G781W using Tapatalk

Hey Paul! Nice t see you again. The polisy (now replaced by) eISY contains it's own nodeserver platform. Multiple node servers are available written by many users to talk to so many devices now, Lists of node servers are available inside the PG3 nodeserver included. Also, I am not sure if you were present while the ISY Portal was launched. It's a cloud bridge between the vocal boxes that can set and reset variables, programs, and every other type of element inside ISY. It also allows an external access via it's portal from any IP address, quite safely. A great feature there is the ISY Portal can create psuedo devices from state variables that can trigger "Routines" inside amazon alexa boxes to generate vocal outputs. The Alexa or GH routines think say a MS is operating and can do almost anything a smart speaker can do. Logic inside the smart speakers is very basic though but ISY takes care of that end quite well as always. Talk again.

Through every version of ISY Finder and ISY launcher using 5 different routers now and a few dozen different Conputers none have ever found my ISYs or Policy's until I have manually installed the IP address for any of them, yet. I always wondered why they labelled them 'Finder' at all. Sent from my SM-G781W using Tapatalk

You could run PG2 with the ecobee node server still if you could get all the software yet??? There were two sources of node servers for ecobee at one time but you would need a RPi or equivalent to run the software on. A new RPi these days would cost you almost as much as an eISY box though. They are gouging the market like everybody else is right now ...ask for a raise at work.
