I hadn't thought about that one. I have the ring plugin and use the ring as a front motion sensor for premise lighting. I barely get out the door and the lights are on.

How do I get custom messages in YoLink Speaker hub via Eisy?
paulbates replied to glacier991's topic in YoLink
Me too. I don't have the distance requirement, but I have 4 temp / humid sensors buried in metal / stainless fridge/freezers and they work and show strong signals. Like any technology, its been a learning curve to get yolink's way of thinking (like how long between temp/humdity update), but everything's working I'm getting there. It is a great compliment to an Insteon power line solution.. they both do a great job of what the other doesn't Yes... or learning to drive stick shift all over again ðĪŠð -
How do I get custom messages in YoLink Speaker hub via Eisy?

I've not used it yet, but planning on it, it's part of the PG3 plugin config. Go to yolink plugin Config Scroll down to custom config parameters Number of TTS, and then each gets a field to type the message in I'm also making the leap that if you've added them in the app, try restarting the yolink plugin, that's when config changes are addressed -
Insteon II motion sensor off time out
paulbates replied to Pico's topic in New user? Having trouble? Start here
Guess I didn't remember that. Occupancy & lighting is the only thing I need to do. The On Only use goes back to my original MS1, that's the only way I'd use it. Since this one is hardwire powered, I was ok with a shorter wait cycle.. but have always kept it a couple minutes or less It does work. After reading your post, my wife was leaving through the garage. I took 4 screen shots of the program.. When she opened the door to the garage She backed her car out I waited 5 minutes and opened the door (had to visit the drinks fridge ðð) Waited for 10 minutes after my last garage movement. The second and third time, the program restarted and the 10 minutes started again -
Insteon II motion sensor off time out
paulbates replied to Pico's topic in New user? Having trouble? Start here
No, it's the opposite of that. If there is movement in the garage, the lights to go on, and stay on from the last motion + 10 minutes.... every time. Each time the MS fires, it turns on the scene and restarts the program; which restarts the timer. If they get turned off, and I went back in, they'd come back on... timer program running, or not. I adopted this from my outside and driveway motion lights at my last house, and learned this method from others here. Here is the program Garage Motion - [ID 0042][Parent 0041] If 'Garage / Garage Motion.1 Motion' is switched On Then Wait 10 minutes Set 'Garage / Garage Lights' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') -
Insteon II motion sensor off time out

I do something similar for my garage and it works. I put the MS and switch(es) in a scene, so the sensor turns the light turns on instantly I have a program watching for the MS to turn on it waits 10 minutes and then turns lights off I have the MSII configured Its plugged in, not battery I set it to send on only as my program turns it off It waits 10 second before sensing movement (this may be part of the issue you're having, how long is the time out) If you are battery, you may want to make this closer to the 4 minutes, but just under -
When you launch the isy finder and click your isy, pick 'Cloud' and it will load the latest and correct AC

Wondering about the plm.. How old is it?
-
Thanks, I'm probably heading back that way. Right now there is a W10 PC in the house that is getting a bit Swiss-army-knifed including "jump box" functions. Older but more than enough power (8) +2ghz cores and 24GB ram.. I use realvpn secure to access it from my ipad but need to start thinking about something else as the multiple uses sometimes bang into each other. I have the Merlin FW for my Asus router and it serves wireguard and open vpn directly, with more than enough horsepower: (4) 1.8ghz cores and 1GB ram and stability for my use cases. I consider Asus/Merlin to be the "ISY of routers".. Meaning It's a solid design, overpowered and just works. There's a lot of "plugins" / optional software for it and an active community writing things and supporting it. On my previous asus router I configured its open VPN server and used that for my travel job prior to retiring. My hesitation now is that I used DYNDNS to find my home's IP, and the router log showed that after doing so, it attracted a lot of attention to "things" trying to probe my network. Maybe I should see how security has changed in 5 years.

Would it be (or is it) possible to serve the local pg3 configuration page through the portal? Specifically I'm looking for what's served at x.x.x.x:3000/nsdetails/<UUID> that I manage my pg3 on eisy at home. The logical place would be on the PG3 menu on the portal. This functionality would parallel the remote access of iox remotely without opening firewall ports or needing a vpn. I'll be traveling for periods and the chance exists i need upgrade, get a log file, etc.

I started getting a few of these Failed notifications & immediate reconnect, vs occasional Disconnected and immediate reconnect. The frequency is low in both cases and that doesn't impact operations. I recently signed up for virtualarm.com monitoring through yolink and this started happening since that time. I'm fairly sure my setup is ok but wanted to validate that it's ok. I'm PMing my yolink debug level log.

It seems coincidental that the light goes off exactly 5 seconds after the change to 100%. I take it one or more programs is causing this. The group is Alexa Lights, are there Alexa routines involved? I'd start with starting the event viewer (highest level) sometime earlier and hope it runs during this time. Other ideas are to simplify by temporarily and systematically by one at a time disabling programs or its participation in alexa and see if it stops

I set up Alexa through ecobee. All went as expected/remembered in getting amazon/ecobee/isy connected When I looked for Samsung, it needs a smarthings account as a proxy. I stopped there. @sjenkins .. I'm willing to test what you have: ð those are all I'm looking for, if HDMI source is part of it (assuming its part of remote). I've carried remotes from older Samsungs forward, and the generic remotes from Walmart always doing the basics.. if that translates to the API, I'd be good with a "that's all this plugin does, nothing else" Appreciate you giving it try to see what's possible.

Updating the profile did change the iox content on recommended self check. That and your notes are good.. I'd like to know if a detector should be checked even if I do it manually. To follow up on the first post, when I go to create and iox program to check that info, its not available in the drop down in the "If" under control.. these are the current options:
-
Ok, I found it, "reinstall here". I'll take a look in iox
-
Thanks. I stumbled around in the plugin store.. I can see how to reinstall all plugins, but not just yolink. I don't want to do that. I'll be ok waiting for your update with everything else. Thanks for the quick response. I can help with testing if needed
-
Ok.. and glad to help check. Let me know. Thanks

Question / comment 1: There aren't a lot of options for the If for smoke / smoke co like battery, is it possible to get those? A comment is that the temp/humidity sensor if statements are under Status, and the Smoke/Smoke CO under control. Question 2. When looking at iox, there is a field for "self check" that appears as "1'. I would l Iike to create notifications on failed selfcheck through the notification plugin as well. Provided that self check appears as part of making an "if", I'd like to know how to interpret. Guessing "1" is a pass as I self checked them all with the app, and "0" would be a fail?

If you haven't, pick a few devices, right click on them one at a time and pick "restore device".

Some devices arent responding to voice commands
paulbates replied to andrew77's topic in Amazon Echo
That's what I would do. The plm losing it's pep could mean it's dying. Trying to fix insteon on the old plm will turn into charging your tail. if you can, do this Set up eisy with USB plm Pick an isy back up from before you started having problems if possible. Otherwise the plm problems may move to the eisy Restore the backup and restore plm. Plan on this part thougha while as the insteon problems get addressed here Deal with wireless devices and problems Back it up Review fix programs back up again -

If you're going to upgrade to eisy directly, right now, and not continue using your isy, then I would get the USB version If you'll keep using your isy for some period prior to upgrading to eisy, you'll have to have the serial model. Because of the effort to migrate to a new plm, I would do it in a way that you only do it one time
