  1. I’d take option 2 now but reconsider before I closed up the walls.
  2. Thanks. They had/have them in stock at SmartHome. I bought one at their normal price. To be clear I have 1 plm in the wall and more in the box when this started looking like an issue. I just wanted to see if I could engineer a solution others could use.
  3. It is supposed to be called DE-9 where E is the smaller shell size. Since early PC had DB-25, the B was just carried over but is technically wrong. Trivia for the day. ?
  4. As always, thanks to you UD team for excellent product, service, and support. Still the best I’ve ever encountered.
  5. Out of pure curiosity, I ordered a 2413U. Gonna hook it to RPi with usb A to B cable. Then hook up an USB A to serial converter to RPi. I’ve used several of them on PC. See if drivers exist that will recognize the devices and if I can locate them try to write software to connect reads and writes between them.
  6. I totally agree. My process is helping someone with a need for plm today. Can usb version be converted to serial for ISY ? If do they could order snd get back online. No prediction of future. Just pragmatic help out s fellow ISY user if possible right now.
  7. Usb version is listed in stock right now though.
  8. Very true but the email I was reacting to said the 2413S was being discontinued. Maybe the will still sell U version as it has more sales from other HA platforms? Also, thinking if something could be engineered, we could buy several of them now to bridge UD to whatever the future holds. I also recall a post from someone and picture using a Hub as a PLM by doing done wiring he said would be obvious to those that understood the chip set. Lastly I’m thinking a RPi as a middle man could be worked out to do translation. Keep in mind, I’m wanting to help someone needing a plm now and being out of luck.
  9. I’m sure this has been asked but has a serial to usb device been used to enable the USB PLM to be used with ISY? I don’t agree with the SM decision but serial devices are seldom used now. At least might be solution in the short term..
  10. I had same when I first moved to version 5. I solved it by deleting MobiLinc and it’s data from all mobile devices and adding it back.
  11. I deleted, uninstalled and re-installed the node server. It appears to be fine now.
  12. Yes thanks Michel, it was 12.2 and the script ran many steps in updates for several minutes. I scrolled back through terminal session and located this error before the restart. It’s now running 13 and other than this non working node it appears good and heartbeat is fine on other nodeservers.
  13. Michel I ran the steps and during the update of the node server MagicHome in slot two the follow occurred: updating MagicHome Collecting git+git://github.com/fahrer16/flux_led (from -r requirements.txt (lin e 2)) Cloning git://github.com/fahrer16/flux_led to /tmp/pip-req-build-548hdu25 Running command git clone -q git://github.com/fahrer16/flux_led /tmp/pip-req-b uild-548hdu25 ERROR: Error [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'git' while executing comman d git clone -q git://github.com/fahrer16/flux_led /tmp/pip-req-build-548hdu25 ERROR: Cannot find command 'git' - do you have 'git' installed and in your PATH? 14. Scene exists in the devices and ISY knows about the scene to get status control if good comms exist. It operates independently of ISY. Same as manual just easier to create and ISY can be used to replace a defective device and of course can control or see status.
  15. I agree. I’d create a scene that does what you need using the ISY by bringing them close to ISY for scene creation and then moving to desired location. When you can get a dual band device update so ISY will see scene status.
  16. Not to lessen or devalue anyone else’s point and experiences, I received a sidewalk notification and turned it off. My dealings with Amazon have been nothing but positive.
  17. If you’re using Polisy, The Vitrtual nodeserver I mentioned lets you add a virtual switch to a scene making it easy to test for scenes being on or off and then based on time of day etc adjust the scene or scene segment. You’ve got right thought process. Good luck and post back if you think we can assist. I’ve posted and got remarks that i didn’t use but made me approach it from a different perspective.
  18. Agree but he said he’d factored in keypads as multiple devices so I’m at a close starting point. Again was just a thought.
  19. I’ve got 299 Insteon devices and 84 scenes which translates to 665 plm links. Your number just sounds high but obviously I don’t know complexities of what you’ve done. I seem to recall that orphan links can occur in plm if you make lots of changes. Has anyone suggested doing a restore plm which will clear and add back links in ISY database to the PLM so you can confirm something has not occurred and inflated the actual number. Also, there is a Virtual Nodesever I’ve started usingits variables as placecholdrrs that might eliminate any hidden keypadlincs you have. Additionally, I have several scenes with the right lights included snd use adjust scene in programs instead of duplicating scene with different settings. Don’t know if this would help but FWIW. Good luck.
  20. Have you used the nodeserver ISY inventory or happen to know how many Insteon devices and scenes you have?
  21. Watch it closely, when that happens it may mean a full PLM failure is imminent.
  22. Watch it closely, when that happens it may mean a full PLM failure is imminent.
  23. One thing to look at is the IP address. I set the IP address of the Polisy the same as the RPi polyglot was installed on. And cut off RPi before bringing up the Polisy and doing the restore. The ISY store s IP address of nodes.
  24. Gotcha. Fantastic, I think the light is on. Lol When entering it in configuration, is the id just supposed to be unique number within the Virtual Nodeserver … not be a pointer to an ISY variable? This is fantastic tool ! Thank you.
