  1. Crestron systems are usually designed and installed by those other than the homeowner, most often by the builder/designer. A designer/architect will usually discuss the system with the buyer before installation. Any further customization is not meant for a DIYer, although some are successful.
  2. Control requires that the device itself send the signal. If the device is off and the device is turned off, the control condition will be true. Neither a direct command nor a scene will cause the control condition to be true. Status requires that the state of the device be changed. If the device is off and a scene or direct command issues an off, status will not be true. The ISY processes commands immediately. I haven't seen conditions exactly as you wrote them. Also, there is no such action as a "slow double tap."
  3. Michel, Thanks for the update. Even more thanks for the ISY Stu
  4. Programs don't need a trigger/condition. You can request to run only the "Then" statements. It seems that you figured that out. If you don't need a darkness condition, then you don't need a program at all, only two scenes, one to turn the lights dim.off and another to restore the lighting. The scenes can have different members as desired.
  5. Is you have more that one program that's triggered for the sam time, then stagger the trigger time.
  6. Repeat needs to be earlier. Only statements that follow Repeat are repeated. But,
  7. Put all the device in the one scene as responders only (no controllers) and use the program to turn the scene on (and off, if desired).
  8. I have two programs for movie watching. This one adjust the lighting and dims the LEDs on visible Keypads. There are three triggers, the two Off buttons on 6-button Keypads (my side, wife's side) and a SynchroLinc that powers the subwoofer when the video powers on. The KPL buttons are also the Movie Time scene controllers. LR Movie Lights Off (begin movie) If From Sunset + 15 minutes To Sunrise (next day) And ( Control 'LR / Devices / LR Movie Time 1' is switched Off Or Control 'LR / Devices / LR Movie Time 2' is switched Off Or Status 'LR / Devices / LR Video SynchroLinc' is 100% ) Then Set 'KT / Devices / KT Ceiling 50' 15% <--- this is the light I want set to a dim level, not off Set 'LR / Devices / LR Movie Time 1' On 2 / Off 1 (Backlight Level) Set 'LR / Devices / LR Movie Time 2' On 2 / Off 1 (Backlight Level) Set 'LR / Devices / LR Sofa Tabletop 1' On 2 / Off 1 (Backlight Level) Set 'LR / Devices / LR Sofa Tabletop 2' On 2 / Off 1 (Backlight Level) Set 'CR / Devices / CR KPL LR Light' On 2 / Off 1 (Backlight Level) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') This program restores the KeypadLinc LEDs brightness levels. Because the kitchen light is part of the movie scene, there's no need to include it in a statement. LR Movie Lights On (end movie) If From Sunset + 15 minutes To Sunrise + 3 hours (next day) And ( Control 'LR / Devices / LR Movie Time 1' is switched On Or Control 'LR / Devices / LR Movie Time 2' is switched On Or Status 'LR / Devices / LR Video SynchroLinc' is Off ) Then Set 'LR / Devices / LR Movie Time 1' On 10 / Off 5 (Backlight Level) Set 'LR / Devices / LR Movie Time 2' On 10 / Off 5 (Backlight Level) Set 'LR / Devices / LR Sofa Tabletop 1' On 10 / Off 5 (Backlight Level) Set 'LR / Devices / LR Sofa Tabletop 2' On 10 / Off 5 (Backlight Level) Set 'CR / Devices / CR KPL LR Light' On 15 / Off 5 (Backlight Level) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Movie Scene This scene adjust the "movie lights." When the scene is turned On (movie begin) the lights ramp down slowly to full off. When the scene is turned On (movie end), the lights ram up slowly to the preset On-level.
  9. arw01, you should not need a program for the GDO to be controlled by the I/O Linc nor for the I/O Linc to indicate the state of the garage door. Describe your setup, in particular, the I/O Linc options and the GDO controller and responder (e.g., KPL button).
  10. Using a program to turn on a load introduces a delay. Use a scene. Select the MS, options. Check On commands only. Delete one line from the program. The light will come on sooner. If Control 'MotionSensor2-Sensor' is switched On And From 10:00:00AM To 11:00:00AM (same day) Then Set 'SwitchLinc Relay' On <--delete this line Wait 20 minutes Set 'SwitchLinc Relay' Off Else Set 'SwitchLinc Relay' Off
  11. Interpreting code to text uses resources that are better used providing features.
  12. Control On (or Off) requires that the device sends an On (or Off) signal. Each time the device sends an On (or Off) signal the program will execute. If a program or scene repeats an On (or Off) signal, that signal is ignored Status On (or Off) requires that the state of the state of the devices changes from Off to On (or On to Off). If a program or scene or the device changes the state of the device, then the program will run. If a scene or program or the device sends a signal that does not change the state of the device, then the program will not run.
  13. Sometime the nightly query of all devices can mess with the reverse trigger setting. The best permanent solution is the use a different magnetic contact switch and not use reverse trigger.
  14. Have you checked the time the ISY claims it is? What is the result is you select 'Run Then' at any time by right clicking on the program name? Selecting 'Run Else' when the lights are on?
  15. Thanks. I mean for two (or more) Echos.
  16. What are you scene members? Which device are controllers, if any? which are responders? What are their respective On-levels? What is/ the program trigger? I use "Movie Time" and "Lights On" buttons plus a program. The "Movie Time" and "Lights On" use one scene, in particular all the lights I want off plus those I want dimmed. The scene is controlled by the Main buttons of Keypads. The "Movie Time" button turns the lights off and the "Lights On" button sets them the to normal in use preset On-Level for each device. A program triggered by the Off button turns certain members of the scene to the chosen dim level.
  17. If a youngster hacks into your network, they're probably more interested in wiping out or having even more fun and altering programs in succinct ways, a skill developed that even allowed the hack to occur. Or formatting your hard drive. Security is yours alone to decide about.
  18. Getting a .php file to run an ISY program.
  19. Youthful hackers are not interested in nor do they have the skill to hack into "somebody." They spend their time learning how to hack into anyone's system. If they can get in at all, being mischievous is a benefit. Albeit, the likelihood of someone hitting any particular system is small, but thew odds of being hit are equally distributed depending on the precautions you take.

    Adding devices

If by "the same" you mean identical, then probably not. Some dual-band devices seem to have a better range than others. I'm not aware of the specifics for each device, but all dual-band devices, including the Hub, function as a range extender. No dual-band device will screw up the ISY if nothing is linked to it (the dual-band device) unless the device is defective.

    Adding devices

A Range Extender like ALL dual-band devices is not a signal booster. It simply repeats any Insteon RF or power line signal that it hears (first caveat). The "problem" device must be within range of the repeated signal (second caveat).
  23. How do you get Maker to run a program?
  24. What are you using to set the LampLinc levels in order to trigger each program? I understand each scene can have a different On-level, but what is each scene's controller?
