Does anyone know the function of jumper 5 in rev2 of the fireware, and what it allows ISY to program into the motion sensor. Do we still have to use the 'Set' button in conjunction with Jumper 5. Thanks, Wayne

I have come up against a problem which may mean I have to revert back to the old way of controlling the lights. In my case I have a Switchlink and Motion Sensor. I can get everything working except the manual override of the lights. If I manually operate the light via the paddle while the motion sensor program is in operation and then walk out of the room it will stay that way. If I were then to walk back into the room the sensor would trigger changing the light level back to that of the scene. I dont think there is any way around this is there? I need it to stay at the level it was manually set too. Thanks, Wayne

It does actually work if I enable them both so that must have been the way it was before I made the changes. Thanks,
-
Hi Markens, If that program is set as 'Enabled', then it would run every time the Switchlink was manually operated which is not what I want. I only want it to run if its called by the initalization program. If I'm wrong in how this works please let me know. Thanks.

Hi, The program Main Bath Light Initialize calls program Main Bath Light Timer when the 'If' conditions are met. Once the 1 minute 'Wait' function is activated I would have thought that as soon as any of those 'If' conditions in the timer program evaluate to false it would break out of the 'Wait' function. If the light is manually operated and still on, the initialization program should not run again until the light is switch off. The problem is that the timer program continues in the wait state even if the Switchlink is manually operated. I had this working previously when I was using programs to control everything but now I've incorporated 'Scenes' I can't get it to work. Note: The initialization program is enabled and the timer is not. The Switchlink and motion sensor are in a scene as controllers. Thanks, Wayne Program Name: Main Bath Light Initialize (Enabled) If Control 'Main Bath MS - Sensor' is switched On And Status 'Main Bath SL - Light' is Off And Folder 'Main Bath - Day' is False Then Run Program 'Main Bath Light Timer' (If) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Program Name: Main Bath Light Timer (Disabled) If Control 'Main Bath SL - Light' is not switched On And Control 'Main Bath SL - Light' is not switched Off And Control 'Main Bath SL - Light' is not switched Fast On And Control 'Main Bath SL - Light' is not switched Fast Off And Control 'Main Bath SL - Light' is not switched Fade Up And Control 'Main Bath SL - Light' is not switched Fade Down And Control 'Main Bath SL - Light' is not switched Fade Stop And Control 'Main Bath SL - Light' is not switched Bright And Control 'Main Bath SL - Light' is not switched Dim Then Wait 1 minute Set 'Main Bath SL - Light' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

Thanks for that clarification Tim. If I was to put a time condition in the program what is the value of using the folder time condition? Hopefully Michel can clarify the question about running a program which doesn't have a condition. thanks again for your help, this is something I have been wanting to do for a while now (fix light delay issue that is). Regards,
-
Hi Tim, The above quote from Michel suggests that no other conditions are necessary in the program part. Is there something I'm missing. So how do I run a program that has no conditions? Even if I set up another program to run it that would have to have conditions yes? The program is only a single line of code, I would have though it will execute if you specify a single line. Looking back I think I was having other problems with the ISY itself because I did try a time period and that was not working either, I think ISY lost its ability to execute folders with a time place constraint. THanks for you help and feedback, Wayne

I think that its almost working. Just having a few issues I need clarified. My understanding is that we dont need to create a link between the MS and the SL, is this correct? (Like you would if you didn't have an ISY) Michel suggested putting programs within a time constrained folder. Should the program still run when the 'If' condition is empty, the action is in the 'Then' part of the structure but I haven't put in an 'If' or 'Else' statements. So the only part filled out is the 'Then' part. The folders time condition was something like this: Run programs in folder when time is 10:00 PM thanks,
-
thanks Michel, I'm really not understanding how the ISY can control a swichlink if the switchlink is connected to the motion sensor directly. My understanding was that you can either control it directly or via ISY, can you or someone explain how this works. Many thanks, Wayne

I have implemented an MS and SL in the bathroom via programs which turns the light on at various levels depending on time of day, unless manually adjusted the light turns off after 4 mins. As we all know the problem is the delay, at night it takes longer to for the light to turn on than to get to the sink. I like to implement a system that turns on the light instantly at various levels depending on time of day and then turns it off after a certain time. If anyone manually interacts with the lights then that takes precedence. I've read the above posts several times but am uncertain whether it could do what I need with a few mods. Appreciate any help with this. Thanks, Wayne

Michel, Noticed that the lightbulb doesn't display a tooltip when the cursor is placed over the icon. PS. thanks for finding the source of the email address display problem.

Note: The recipient field will display the email address/es in the main grid if the new email address group is used in a ISY 'Program', otherwise it displays as N/A.

Similar issue to Brad77. Steps to reproduce bug: 1) Open ISY click on Configuration/email notification 1) Click Add and type in a name and press Enter key 3) Click on N/A and add a new email address and press enter key and click OK ***BUG APPEARS AT THIS POINT*** The recipient still displays as N/A in the main grid. Click Save Still shows as N/A Close ISY and reopen - still shows as N/A. Regards, Wayne Note: The recipient field will display the email address/es in the main grid if the new email address group is used in a ISY 'Program', otherwise it displays as N/A. NB. I had cleared my JAVA Cache after the installation and had my AV and firewall fully disabled.

Hi, I have a morning wakeup scene that turns on a lamp (lamplink) next to me but it also turns on a second lamplink in the same room which happens to be on the same circuit, this second lamplink is not in the scene. I can't get it to do this when manually activating the scene. I reset the lamplink that should not be in the scene. Not sure where to go from here. Thank you, Wayne

Hi Brian, Thanks for that info. The bigger question I have is that the radio was not making a noise before pressing the Remotelink button even though it was pointed in the original direction. After pressing the button there was alot of static that remained for the whole time I was listening to the radio. I purposely didn't turn it around to see if the noise was going to stop. I would expect the noise to continue only while the RemoteLink and Access Points are transmitting but that is not the case. And the fact the radio was working perfectly prior to pressing the button was interesting. Wayne

Hi, Ever since I installed the Insteon system I noticed that my bedside clock radio puts out a lot of static noise. If I turn the radio 90 deg it almost goes away. The other night I was listening to the radio and the reception was perfect, then I turned off the beside lamplink light using the remote link and the static noise started up straight away and didn't stop until the radio was turned off an hour later. I can understand a radio problem when the remote link is pressed and until the signals stop getting sent but this continued on for an hour later. Does anyone know whats going on here and how to solve this problem. Thanks, Wayne

Yes it was checked, I unchecked it and rebooted and that seemed to solve the problem. I'm a little unsure about the option because the scene program did run this morning when it was suppose to run. There was nothing to 'Catch up' if that makes sense. The next due date/time was tomorrow morning. Thanks for your help, -Wayne.

Hi, Whenever I reboot ISY a custom scene turns on and all the lights turn on in that scene. The setting to 'Enable Run at startup' for the program that normally runs the scenes is not enabled so I have no idea why it runs. Any ideas? THank you, Wayne

Give me a 5 mins and check your mail.

It looks like its connected with some change made to ISY in connection with DNS lookup and using an IP address instead of a name. My ISP's SMTP server has the IP address of 192.168.100.10 using port 25 and is only available for users inside of the network so no username or password is required. It did work in previous version of ISY as I was receiving emails all the time about various events, I would really like to have that functionality back again if possible. Many thanks, Wayne
-
This issue never seemed to get resolved: http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?t=2051 Its still possible to enter programs with identical names in the same folder. The problem being that you can only see one of them in the program drop down list, if you could see them all then it would get confusing. Did you have any luck duplicating the notification issue. I was using an IP address as opposed to a name as the SMTP server addr.

Hi Michel, I've been noticing that there is still a grid display problem while using the compare button. It's relatively easy to reproduce. If you keep doing this procedure it will add more and more records into the right hand grid. Just click start button. Compare. Close the compare screen. Click compare again. Regards, Wayne

Michel, That worked, I rcd an email notification. Why did my ISP's address stop working. Its working via my email client sofware and it was working before. Thanks, Wayne
-
Yes it sync's and works as it should. Yes I just tried rebooting both ISY and the router but still receive the error. Wayne

Mike, I haven't changed the settings from when it was working a version or 2 ago. These are the same settings that are in my email client. ip address to smtp server and port 25, no authentication required. Wayne
