Stu - Thank you for the hand holding - not sure why i am having such a hard time. The strange thing is that both the ISY skill & ISY Optimized for Smart Home V2 were enabled. I hit the discover button (nothing happened). I am thinking if it still doesnt work (I will test in the morning) I might need to try firefox vs chrome.

So I am a little confused. My current echo - i just say, Alexa turn on the kitchen lights & it works. With this new dot on my mothers account I need to say "Alexa tell izy to turn on the kitchen lights" - if i just say Alexa turn on the kitchen lights it doesnt work (on her dot). On my older Echo I dont need the Izy stuff. Any ideas?

Stu, So I deleted everything & am starting over again. I registered the dot on my moms account. I added my moms info to the portal as a sub account. I went into the alexa app, added ISY, then logged into my mothers account. When I say Alexa turn on the kitchen lights it says: You dont have any smart home devices, to get started to go to smarthome section of the alexa app.

Hi, I am not sure what i am doing wrong here. I have 4 attachments on this post. ISY.jpg - this is my setup showing both my main account (working fine) & the Mom Dot (ready to go). Mom Dot Under Rich account - I added my mothers account as a user under my main account. Portal Mom account - This is me logged into her account, Rich Account - this is my account. I am a little confused as the dot I bought her (which is registered on amazon to me) works fine for controlling my devices. Do I need to register her dot on her amazon account to make this work? Ideally I would rather use mine if possible as it would allow me to place a dot in my office & say "turn on the lights" or turn off all lights for my office. Again everything is using the same ISY. Hi, Thanks for the assistance. I did approve. I also went to the portal under "mom dot" and added three items. Living Room Kitchen Bedroom When I tried Living Room it said it couldnt find it. When i said to turn off the kitchen, it turned off my kitchen (not hers). Any ideas how to direct her Dot to her items? It is all one ISY. Thanks, Rich

Hi, So I have two echos setup under the same account (amazon & Portal). I added an echo Dot for my mother in her room. I would like her to be able to say turn off the lights & turn off the bathroom lights but those are already used in my account. Under the portal, I added under "Main Account" a new account called Mom Dot & added the same UUID for the ISY. It is yellow (under main it is green). I try to add a Select tool, connectivity, amazon echo but it says "Access denied. Pending approval by owner." I added her email (I have access) and the account says not verified. I am a little confused on adding the dot to a 'new' account.

The only problem with the dot (for me) is it keeps loosing connectivity even though its 10 feet from a wireless router.

Hi, I have a few scenes programed into Alexa - Outside lights, kitchen lights, downstairs lights, upstairs lights, etc. There are times when I am ready to head up that I will say: Alexa, turn off the kitchen lights (OK) Alexa, turn off the downstairs lights (OK) Alexa, Turn off the outside lights (OK) Is there a way to tell Alexa to turn off the kitchen lights and downstairs lights within one command? Hi, I have been noticing a program (motion sensor comes on, light should turn on, stay on for 20 minutes, then shut off) hasnt really been running properly for the last week or so. Its in my garage so i notice it when I am coming in and out of the house. I kept forgetting to check on it. Today I noticed that the insteon switch running the program had a ramp rate of 9 minutes and a local on level of 0. So I changed it to .2 seconds & 100% - that seemed to do the trick. So i looked at a few other devices & they also seem to have this 9 / 0 levels preset. I changed it & noticed that the changes arent sticking. They stick of a second but if i log off & back on the changes arent staying. So then I do a restore PLM figuring something is wacky. After I check PLM Links & it keeps dying out around 15 links (I have 700 typically). I reboot the PLM, reboot the ISY & the link counting keeps stoping fairly quickly. I then looked back at the few devices with the ramp rate issues & they are back to the 9 minute ramp with 0% on locally. Any ideas what might be the problem? I am on the latest firmware. I have a NIB PLM I could swap out if needed. Just curious what might be causing the issue. Thanks, Rich

While i have an Echo - I would love to add a Google Home. The Echo is limited in terms of general searches - it works great for the lights though. I would think GH would excel at both. Plus they had a superbowl ad!

The problem is that the light never turns off. It stays on until I shut it off via another scene (all off, downstairs). Everytime i check on a camera or app the lights are on. Any ideas why it wouldnt shutoff?

Hi, I am using a program with two motions sensors in the garage. The idea is it is an occupancy sensor. If either sensor is turned on, the light should turn on for 20 minutes then shut off. Now it will turn on without issue but it will never turn off. If i use the web interface it turns off no problem. Is there something obvious wrong with the program? I am having an issue where the plm links table keeps stopping count. I deleted a number of scenes, restored the PLM, then counted links & it keeps stopping sometimes at 350, others at 600. I was getting consistently higher numbers before. Any ideas? I also upgraded the firmware to the latest official.

So is this accurate? Total 50 devices All Off: 35 devices 5 controllers Downstairs off: 15 devices 2 controllers Upstairs off: 25 devices 1 controllers Outside: 12 devices 4 controllers Inside off (downstairs scene devices& upstairs scene devices) 37 devices 3 controllers Does this mean I would be using: 192 links? So if I use a program for all off, I would need to add each device into the program individually? I am a little confused. I have a few programs that reference scenes because it is easier than adding devices individually. Thanks, Rich

Hi, I am trying to get a handle on if my system is beyond the 992 number of links & think I can delete a few scenes but am trying to understand what i need to accomplish. I have a number of devices I am not really using such as the motion sensor which has a motion, dusk, and one other sensor, or a number of leak sensors that have leak on / off, heartbeat, etc. Should I start getting rid of those? Would deleting the dusk/dawn part of the motion sensor save me a link? If i have a scene called all off & it has every device in it, is that a single link or multiple links? I have an all off scene, and a downstairs scene - it has some overlap - is that multiple links? I am a bit confused & would like to get my count down. On the main ISY page I have a total of 411 items - again this includes 8 button keypads, leak sensors that have 3 parts, motions that have 3 parts, etc. Thanks! Rich

So i have been running the PLM links table & sometimes I am getting the following: 846 909 869 1021 1090 It seems to vary a bit. I do have a lot of devices for sure but I am a little confused on the inconstancy. I have restored the PLM a few times in the past which I thought also compressed out of use links.

Michel, I just looked now & I can see my lights are on in one area. I checked mobilinc and it says its off. I then went to a PC, opened a browser & went to the web page. It also showed as off. I then went to the admin platform which also shows its off. I then hit a query and now it shows it as on. I dont think its a mobilinc problem but for some reason my system isnt updating properly. Hi, I am finding that the mobilinc software or the ISY is not 100% in sync at times. I would say on average I only access the ISY through mobiliinc (android app) on my phone. I notice times that my office light is on, mobilinc says its off, if i press off (or fast off) the light will go off. So it functions properly but the reporting may be off a bit. I have a lot of devices so that could be an issue too but everything seems to function properly. How do I do an auto query on the status of the system? Thanks, Rich
