  1. Anything new electronically recently in the home. Existing electronic devices moved? That may have effected your power line communications? If you have your PLM on the same power as your computing equipment, on an UPS, filtered surge strip. That can effect the Insteon power line communications.

    Insteon Siren?

I am not going to try a 5.x Alpha version yet. I have had no issues with the Beta releases. I just feel Alpha is too new for a try out yet. I tried both an Alert Module and Siren Module with a few devices. Both will NOT link to the original 2440 Remotelinc. Both will link to a 2342-232 Mini Remote, a KPL dimmer in a tabletop case and a 2421 TriggerLinc. I am using the Mini Remote to test them. I have one powered up for some burn in time and then I will rotate a different one if for awhile so it also gets some burn in time. One button set arms and disarms it. One On button triggers the Chime. One On button triggers the Siren. I also tested the not well documented controller function in the Siren Module. If you link it to a Lamplinc, Dual Band Lamplinc, Appliancelinc or On/Off module. As a controller. When the Siren is sounding it will flash the module linked to it as a controller. The Alert Module is also supposed to have a controller function. I have not tested it thoroughly.

    Insteon Siren?

UDI has stated in a few threads. Both the now discontinued Alert Module and the new replacement Siren Module. Will not be added to any 4.x versions. Not wanting to possibly add issues to a stable base 4.x. Both will be in a 5.x version. I too am anxious to get the Alert Module and Siren Modules into my ISY994i setup. Due to Smartlabs dragging their feet for many months, on getting UDI the needed API for the Alert Module. I personally put the problem on them not UDI. I do understand UDI not wanting to mess up a 4.x release. My Alert Module is over one year old and still can only be used with manual links. The ISY994i doesn't see.
  4. Leaving the Automatic Writes to battery devices off and then manually doing each one. Is what is recommended and used by most here.
  5. Is the LED on the side of the 2413S PLM On? In the Tools Diagnostics Tab: PLM Info/Status does it show connected or in safe mode? How many links does the Show PLM Links Table Show? The PLM seems to be the weak spot in an ISY setup and it is possible it is failing.
  6. I understand Phil retired, when the ACT line was discontinued. I have read what was left was dumped on EBay.
  7. Yes the utility needs its own interface. A separate PLM is one of the interfaces it can use. Not 100% sure but I believe some have powered down their ISY994i and used its PLM for the utility.
  8. Some new factory fresh Insteon modules. Have been known to ship with test links in them. Most users now automatically do a Factory Reset on all new modules. The EZIO8SA has to be on its own PLM. You can't access it if there is no PLM connected to it when running the utility program or from the Administrative Console.
  9. Have you tried a complete Factory Reset? That would clear out any left over X10 codes if any existed.
  10. Go to the 4.5.4 firmware page. http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/19961-release-454-is-now-official/ Follow the instructions to update the UI. Also install the Dashboard. The TSL settings are done through the ISY Dashboard not the ISY Administrative Console. The small wrench icon on the top right, of the Dashboard. Network Settings choice.
  11. ACT stopped making all of their X10/A10 devices awhile back. I understand they sold off all the stock on Ebay. JV Digital Engineering makes a 10 and 15 amp plug in filter. I know their stuff is made with quality parts and not pushed to near maximum component ratings. http://jvde.us/xtb-f10.htm I found a question I had asked Jeff on his forums. He indicated that the filters have a wide enough bandwidth to also be effective on the Insteon 131.65KHz power line frequency http://jvde.us/forum/index.php?topic=46.0

    ISY994 Power LED

I am using Light Dims on my ISY994i and like it.

    ISY994 Power LED

The installation information for the Z-Wave board. Shows four screws and how to remove the case. http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Z-Wave:_Ordering/Assembly_Instructions
  14. The modules will not transfer. Contacting UDI with the original ISY994i ir's uuid: and the uuid: from the replacement. They can transfer the modules from the original to the replacement.
  15. Near the bottom of the UDI Sales page are the upgrades. https://www.universal-devices.com/sales/
  16. microUSB connector? The ISY994i uses a standard coaxial type DC connector.

    Insteon Siren?

I have seen posts. They do have information but it will not be added until a version of 5 is released.

    Insteon Siren?

No. Both the 2867-222 Alert Module and 2868-222 Siren Module are not supported at the present time. I understand the Alert Module will be in the 5.? Firmware. I would think the Siren Module would also be in the 5.0? I did try adding my Siren Module with the Start Linking method. I got the "Failed To Add Device Reason 1" as expected. I believe the Aeon Gen5 siren is Z-Wave so you would have to have a Z-Wave option ISY Interface.
  19. Your problem is you can't link the RemoteLinc to your ISY994i controller but directly manually linked to your Insteon Switches will control them?
  20. They do have a 4 piece multi-pack Insteon On/Off modules. http://www.smarthome.com/insteon-remote-control-plug-in-on-off-module-1.html
  21. The earlier firmware always added my 2440 as a v.00. The latest firmware now finds mine as v.33 My 2440s also don't always play nice with the latest Insteon devices. It will not manually link to my Alert Modules as the ISY994i firmware doesn't support it yet. It also will not link to the latest hardware 2413S PLM unless as far away from the PLM as it can be.
  22. I don't see your LED pattern in the WIKI page but you may want to look at it for hints. http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Main_Page#Front_Panel_LEDs.2FLights You may want to power down the system and reseat the SD Card. Though I would also suspect any 2413S PLM hardware version below 2.0 and over two years old a highly suspect. It could be possible the ISY994i is trying to do something with the PLM and it is crashing.
  23. Some of the latest versions of Insteon Modules. Do have a option to have power line or RF communications turned off. As Paul pointed out. Filtering the PLM would disable its power line communications. The rest of the dual band modules will still use RF and power line. Unless new enough to habe the power line communications disabled. I tried a fairly inexpensive RF spectrum analyzer on my system. Was not overly informative. As there where all kinds of RF signals being bounced from dual band to dual band modules.
  24. New one recently purchased, hardware above 2.0 or a new spare you had in storage that is below hardware 2.0?
  25. You may want to try {if fairly easy} moving the EZIO 2x4 closer to the ISY994i's PLM and see if you can restore it or manually short the Input you are using and see if it registers in the programs. I have not seen anything on repairing the older 2412 PLM's or the base board. The schematic in the Modem Developers Guide {was public access for awhile from Smarthome} shows three electrolytic capacitors. C1 1000uF/25V, C5 100uF/6.3V and C8 470uF/50V C1 and C8 are the two with long leads bent parallel to the PC Board probably held by glue. The 74551 kit is a 2450 I/O Linc with a magnetic switch. A 30 foot and 10 foot piece of #22 wire. If your EZIO 2x4 is using a dry contact switch. You could just use a 2450 I/O Linc Sensor Input wired to the original switch the EZIO 2x4 was using. If you are also using one of its outputs. The I/O Linc has one relay output
