    Is the PLM gone?

You said you updated to a ISY994i. Didn't it come with a wall wart as part of the standard package?

    Is the PLM gone?

The 2412S PLM provides power to the ISY Controller. The 2413S does not provide power. So be sure you get a wall wart supply also. If you didn't have a optional wall wart supply. With the 2412S. The long capacitor fix thread here will not work on a 2412S. Completely different power supply design. 2412S has a linear power transformer design. The 2413S has a switching power supply. I can look up the capacitor data for the 2412S if you want it. The 2413S is Dual Band as pointed out. It also has a faster processor and memory. So it may give you added performance.
  3. Yesterday I tried the standard drop down Add Module method and it failed. Today I used the Special Choice method in the Link Management drop down list and it did add properly. I did notice yesterday the Add Module way tried I2CS messaging. As the module did report it was a I2CS type. Though it failed. This morning with the special module method. It did add correctly but Event Viewer in level 3. Showed I2CS module found but reverted to I2 messaging. The firmware found was v.4A Although I was able to add 2 test nodes. The Device Link Table tests showed a mismatch with what the ISY994i indicated it should have. Complicated procedure to do. So I don't know if I missed something or the firmware was the issue.
  4. Thanks for the update. Insteon times its communications to the AC Zero Crossing. I vaguely remember. The frequency had to be very close to 60 cycles for it to work correctly. The newer 50/60 cycle models I have no data on.
  5. I have seen Date Code format changing between early and later modules. I have a failed V1.5 1122. Now repaired as a spare. Yours is 30th week of 2011. Mine is 22nd week of 2011. I have also seen a production code sticker on some. That confuses even more.
  6. You will probably also see a hardware revision number on a white sticker. Like my latest is V2.3. The one Smarthome says fixed a problem they found. Thread on how to repair. http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/13866-repair-of-2413s-plm-when-the-power-supply-fails/
  7. How old is the 2413S? As pointed out they are known to have a failed power supply. After two years and a few months. One clue would be Link Database in the PLM empty or have few entries. Restore fixes for awhile. Not responding but a power cycle fixes it for awhile is another. As is a dim or out LED on the side. There is a thread here on the PLM issues. http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/13866-repair-of-2413s-plm-when-the-power-supply-fails/
  8. There is a small chance. That the inductive spike when it goes off. May effect the I/OLinc operation.
  9. There are a few threads here on the Synchrolinc. I used the advanced search to find some. This one seems to shed some light on it. There are others. http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/15797-synchrolinc-timers/?hl=synchrolinc
  10. If the new UPS is on the same circuit as the PLM. Its AC power line conditioner and filter. Maybe absorbing the PLMs power line signals and effecting communications. I have my APC UPS on a FilterLinc with the PLM in the front unfiltered pass through outlet on the front cover.
  11. Michel, Thanks for the information. Though that is kind of scary. Now that they seen to be having a clearance sale on them. $89.99 module now $9.99. Normal sales page not a recertified module. I wounder how they feel on taking the time to flash the module with the correct firmware for an ISY994i to use.
  12. If it is a older hardware revision 2476S SwitchLinc. It may not have the Air Gap Switch like the 2476D and have a completely different method of a Factory Reset. My old V2.1 hardware 2476S and old hardware V1.0 2876S Icon switches do not. The manual I found on line was V6.0+ and it did show an Air Gap Switch. So it will depend on hardware version. Let us know if you need the older users manual. As I don't believe it is too easily found. You may not have to do a Factory Reset. There is a method in the manual to remove an X10 address for the older hardware. Using the Set Button, top paddle and an X10 command on the power lines. Does require the X10 address be known and an X10 controller to send it three times with an Off command. If you do the Factory Reset. The X10 address will not be added back when restore the device through your ISY controller.
  13. I see on the Smarthome site. The 2411T is now $9.99 down from $89.99! In big red letters. Not compatible with an Insteon HUB. Maybe they are trying to DUMP them or someone updated them with a defective firmware.
  14. It is self powered. The current though the load being sensed. By the wire passed through the CT800 core. Induces a voltage into the sensor and it closes the output terminals.
  15. I thought FS used a special ISY format. Not too sure if you can even read it on Linux.
  16. You may find added information form this Cocoontech tutorial using a CT800 http://cocoontech.com/forums/page/articles/_/tutorials/home-automation-tutorials/how-to-monitor-the-status-of-your-appliances-using-current-sensors-r58
  17. Have not done this in a long while. Maybe all the way back to my ISY99i. I too have never seen the "Goodbye"
  18. The older Insteon modules could have an X10 Primary and Secondary address programmed in to them. My older 2476S Insteon switches with an X10 Primary Address also send an X10 On or Off when locally activated by the paddle and respond to my old HR12A Palmpad remotes. My old 2456S3 Appliancelincs also have an X10 Primary Address in them. The removal of the A10/X10 module would not correct your problem. As mentioned UDI can remove it if you want to. I also think one or more of you Insteon switches have an X10 address in them. The factory reset and restore. Will remove any X10 addresses. I have to add them back manually after a Factory Reset-Restore.
  19. Unless something was changed recently. No it can't. It only displays the remote probe temperature on its own display and does not send it to the ISY994i. There is a long thread here. Where the internal sensor was disconnected and the remote sensor was connected. Then the remote probe data was sent to the ISY994i. http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/9152-how-to-monitor-water-temp-via-isy-and-catch-more-fish/?hl=2441zth
  20. Try the 2457D2 in a different location and see if there is an issue where it was installed. You can also open the Event Viewer in Level 3. And see if it is responding or not. When you try and add it.
  21. The two wire is RF only. Since it gets its power through the load. It is strictly for incandescent or 120 volt power saving halogen incandescent replacements.
  22. The 2413S PLM does not supply power to any model ISY994i or the older ISY99i. You need an external power supply. The older 2412S PLM did supply power to an ISY controller. It had a slower processor and memory. Was also Power Line only not Dual Band.
  23. If the 2477D is not controlling to the humidity fan controller. It is possible the Insteon Power Line commands are triggering it. When you send the level changes to the 2477D. I have seen posts where the Insteon Power Line commands are effecting things like lights on manual dimmers that are not Insteon.
  24. Beep Duration is for the time period an internal modules beeper sounds. If the ISY994i does not show a setting for the EZI04O relay duration. You will have to set it up with the Smartenit Utility Suite linked to in the thread. It needs a Insteon Interface to the power lines to work. Like a PLM {2412S/U or 2413S/U} or older PLC {2414S/U,2814U}. The PLC also need the SDM308 Smarthome Device Manager installed. I have seen things here where the ISY994i's PLM can be used. As it should alter the PLM Link Database. Remember to power down the ISY994i and PLM. Then connect the PLM to the serial port and run the Smartenit Utility Suite. When powering the ISY994i back up. Power the PLM first and allow it to initialize. Then the ISY994i so it can find the PLM during initialization. It will need a Serial Port connection. If you don't have a Serial Port I understand many of the USB to serial adapters will work. The needed Serial Cable is packed in the 2413S or 2412S shipping box.
  25. Well you have to wake them up from their power saving mode. Part of the process is manually activating the Link Push Button.
