The latest PLM I got recently was a V2.3. C7 and C13. are now 100uF/50V Fujicon capacitor. My V2.1 has 100uF/35V Mounted parallel to the PCB and fastened with component glue. Too large to fit in PCB Pads location vertically. Also the serial interface IC on the serial daughter board has been changed. It is now a TI brand MAX232EI. { My hardware 2.1 has a ST232 }. The TI MAX232EI meets the IEC61000-4-2 ESD Protection Standards on the RS232 I/O Pins to the outside world.

I don't think the detected model is incorrect. I believe both models have the same Category and Subcategory Insteon ID when detected by the ISY994i. Load Sensing in this case is for Local Control. If the module is Off and you toggle the loads own power switch Off and then back On. The module will turn On with out an Insteon or X10 command. My older firmware v.28 do not send a message back to my ISY994i when Local Control is used. Your v.38 maybe similar. IMHO. It isn't a direct replacement and may not be possible.

RS232. Older PLM's have a ST232 chip for the RS232 signals. It also has the TTL logic level I/O on different pins but it doesn't look like they thought much of protecting the TTL signals in the design. The latest V2.3 has changed the chip to a TI MAX232E that meets the IEC61000-4-2 ESD protection requirements. The last post in the long PLM repair thread. I posted what I found in the V2.3 PLM's I believe the ISY994i takes into account the serial signal pins needs. As all of mine came with a standard 3' patch cable. No fancy cable pinout's. Another reason to use only the three serial signals. The TTL signals are not very well isolated from the outside world in a PLM. I would suspect the new Heat Pump is the issue. May have some electronic controls that are making line noise or the board has a big fat AC capacitor across the power feed to kill noise. That type cap will also kill Insteon Power Line signals.

Only three wires are used for the serial signals. No handshake connections on the Serial Port connector of the PLM. From the quick guide and Modem Developers Guide. 1 RS232 Out to PC Pin 2 (RX) 7 Common 8 RS232 In from PC Pin 3 (TX) Note Pin 3 is a TTL Level Output (from PLM) Pin 6 is a TTL Level Input. (to PLM) Not too sure how well they are protected from noise.

The Insteon Wireless Thermostat is not connected to the HVAC wiring. It uses Insteon RF linked to another Insteon Module. It is 2 AA Cell battery operated or there is an optional 5 volt DC wall wart made for it. HVAC control voltages are normally 24 Volts AC and not for the wireless thermostat power requirements.

Not surprised about the same life expectancy. Most of the Smartenit modules are built on the same base 2413 PLM board. With the same power supply issues. The 2450 I/O Linc has a different board in it but uses the same small switching supply IC and questionable filter capacitors. I have seen three different sized capacitors in one capacitor location, between early and later hardware versions. Though over kill the EZIO8SA has eight heavy duty relays in it but also needs its own PLM to function.

Smartenit also makes a 4 relay output module. I originally thought might work but it has a small current capacity relay of .5Amp. So it may not be suitable. http://smartenit.com/product/iot4r/

I believe the EZflora has triac outputs. So AC only. Also only one output goes on at a time.

Michel; Unfortunately I am not surprised by your statement on the Motion Sensor II Developers Notes. I saw a active developer on the Smarthome Forums. Also looking for the Motion Sensor II Developers Notes. Indicating his contact keep promising to sent them. Every week nothing was sent.

If you have a Pro version you can turn Off Automatic Writes to Battery devices. Then write to then one at a time so only one is wake so writes can be done to it.

Insure that you don't do a short cycle. Where the time period between the Off and the next On is short. Could be damaged by a short cycle. Almost all of the permanently installed HVAC units have a 5 minute time out between calling for a Cooling cycle. I know my portable room air conditioner use the have restarting issues if the power cycled Off and back On in a short time period.

All about the same age would not explain the problem. Some users have different age modules with different firmware. Some versions of firmware can have issues doing some functions.

Are all the KeypadLincs the same hardware and firmware revision? If they are brand new. Did you factory reset then first? As we sometimes see test links in factory new modules. Not removed before the factory shipped them. Many here have learned to always do a factory reset on any new modules we purchased.

Did you try a power cycle reset on the devices? On the off chance they powered back up in a confused state.

There is a Firefox V52 esr version. That still supports the npapi Java Plug In. I found it while searching the Firefox help web pages. I probably will not use it. As I have no big issues so far.

Have you had a chance to read the WIKI information on the Error and Memory LEDs flashing? Even if the PLM was dead. It should not be flashing the Error and Memory LED's. When my PLM failed. The only thing that happened was the system went into Safe Mode. No network issues happened. You even tried two ISY994i controllers with the same problem. Pointing to a network issue. You have something bad in your network. The two LEDs in the Network Jack of the iSY994i. Are they On and if there is network activity one maybe blinking? By chance did this happen when you had to change your internet modem and is it also your router?
