  1. Thanks Paul, I was trying to do the swap from the folder. No wireless, so easy swap. Tim
  2. I need to replace an existing 8 button KPL with a new one. The old one still works I just want to upgrade to dual band. Is there a way to swap them without deleting the old and then creating all of the links to the new device? I thought I recalled a swap feature but I can't find it. Thank you.
  3. Thanks Michel, a reboot solved the problem. Tim
  4. The problem seems to be back, same circumstances described by others earlier today. Is the Server down again?
  5. mwester, thanks for your reply, For all the programs I've written using the Control command I did not realize it was limited to the actual device only. stusviews, thanks again I created 2 programs as suggested. It's obvious now that I understand the Control command operation.
  6. Thanks stusviews, I guess I don't understand how the communication works. When you ask Echo to turn a device on doesn't it just pass that request on to ISY via the portal? When ISY executes the request I would think an ISY program would be able to detect that conditional change and respond. How does the communication work?
  7. Hi, I wrote a simple program (below) which works fine when I manually press the button on the KPL, but when I try it through Alexa, the program will not run. Here is the program: Oxygen check - [iD 004E][Parent 0001][Not Enabled] If Control 'Darcies Room / Darcie's Light' is switched Off And Status 'Basement / Oxygen' is Off Then Set Scene 'Crosslinks / Oxygen Crosslink' On Send Notification to 'Text-Tim' content 'Oxygen Alert' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') See also attached screen shot from the log file. The first highlighted section is using Alexa, the 2nd when I manually pressed the off button on the KPL. Disregard the grayed out section that is a manual turn on via a button press. It's seems like it should work with Alexa too. It there something I'm missing w/r to Alexa based commands? Thanks, Tim
  8. Thanks for the reply Techman, See answers below Try removing power from both the ISY and the PLM, then power up the PLM, wait 10 seconds then power up the ISY I did that but no change in the issues. About how many devices do you have? 50-100 What's the date code and version of your PLM V2.1, 1534 Do a PLM link count and let me know what the result is. Count returns 0. Sounds like a problem... Device Link table also returns a 0 fro any device ISY Link table also returns 0 for any device I choose Which ISY are you using, what is the firmware and UI versions? ISY 994i/IR Pro. 4.5.4 for both PLM reports to be connected, v9E I can still control devices from the console, however after I query for links I lose control of the devices Update I was away for a while since I reported the status above. When I came back, I brought up the Console and the current status was there. Also I did not get the subscriber error message. I was able to query the PLM links (256) and the ISY and device links. So I closed the console and then reopened it. This time I got the error and status I listed above. Can this error message be related? How do I reset the # of Subscribers? Update #2 Problem solved. The "Maximum Subscribers Reached" was causing the Console problem and appears to have solved the Mobilinc problem as well. Maybe smarter heads can figure out why. I solved the "Maximum Subscribers Reached" error when I discovered the Automation Shack app, ISYLogger was trying to resubscribe to the ISY every minute because of a heartbeat timeout. I had seen this behavior before but never with this intensity. I killed the app and all problems went away.
  9. All of my devices have a blank Current State in the Admin Console. I can control the devices but the state remains blank. I also tried to query the devices but the state remains blank. I am getting an error "Maximum Subscribers Reached". I rebooted ISY but that did not help. Also, I cannot connect via the Mobilinc app, it will not connect via the portal. I can log into the portal without a problem Are these thing related? What's going on? Thanks
  10. Thanks Paul, That was it. Weird, because yesterday it worked fine. I shut virus scan off and it started up correctly. Then I turned virus scan back on without adding an exclusion and it still works fine! Gotta love this stuff....
  11. I have a new problem accessing the Admin Console with a new computer. When I launch the Admin app the ISY Finder window opens and displays my ISY information but the window is frozen and the logon window for my ISY never appears. Task Manager is the only way to get out of it. This worked correctly yesterday. If I try it on a different computer I can get to the the admin console so this seems to be a configuration problem on the new computer. The new computer has a 4k display and I have been trying all of the suggestions in the forum to increase the font size, I believe this problem is related to that. I uninstalled Java and deleted all local data related to the ISY. I re-installed JAVA and downloaded the console app again, but the result is the same. The Dashboard app works correctly. Any suggestions?

    Fonts

Hi, I just got a new laptop with a 4K display. I didn't realize the nightmare I was creating for myself with many applications that come up with micro font text. I'm having to buy newer versions of the software (Lightroom, Photoshop for example) to get compatibility. Beware anyone who is looking to get a 4k display. I'm running Win 10. I tried both compatibility modes suggested above by Michel and they have no effect. I have the font size set at 20. I'm running 4.5.4. I also have an error when I open the Admin console, "Maximum Subscribers Reached". When I clear the error message everything seems to work ok. Probably not related to the font issue but I thought I'd mention it. Any suggestions? Thanks, Tim
  13. Since Alexa can't do it yet, maybe you need one of these. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/glance-clock-see-what-you-need-when-you-need-it-smartphone--2#/
  14. FYI, the 3.1.2 release fixed my problem, there was a bug confirmed by Locative to me via Tweet. As I said before I've have good luck with Locative and it's free.
  15. I have been having trouble with Locative this week, but I have been using it for months very reliably. There was an update 3.1.1 recently and I believe my trouble started after that. I just received a notification for an update 3.1.2 so I'm thinking there may have been a bug with releases so close together. I haven't confirmed that my problem is fixed as I just downloaded it a few minutes ago. You only need to populate the HTTP push section with the URL's provided by the portal, turn off basic authentication and the Global HTTP settings. They are not needed. Make sure you have 3.1.2.
  16. Same here, I now show 57 discovered devices and I only have 21
  17. Same problem with my devices. If I say Ask ISY turn on device X it works. This started to happen in the last few hours.
  18. The Trane link you provided shows that you have a heat pump system so you need a heat pump thermostat. http://www.smarthome.com/insteon-2732-242-thermostat-for-heat-pump.html
  19. That is very interesting, thanks for sharing the links. I found this on Google: http://market.firstbuild.com/products/greenbean
  20. Hi Teken, I'm glad you asked that question. The cooling and drying aspect of the water heater is a bonus I forgot to mention. I have the unit in my basement and since I started using it I no longer have to run a dehumidifier. I have ~2300 sq ft unfinished basement. The temperature year round runs in the low 60's. As for noise, its pretty quiet, mostly fan noise you have to really listen up close to hear the compressor. Tim
  21. Hi Teken, The IFTTT worked perfectly, now I can say “Alexa turn boost on” and run a 4 hour program which at the end returns it to Hybrid mode. Makes the wife happier, now she can turn it on without my help. The GE IFTTT channel offers direct recipe to Alexa but there is no way to implement a timer to shut it off later. To answer your other questions, I have a GE Heat Pump Water Heater, made in USA. (http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-specs/GEH50DEEJSC ). It was a replacement for a Bosch HPWH that only lasted 2 years. The GE has been in operation for about a year, and so far is trouble free and works as expected. It has a Phone App that allows you to change the operating mode, the tank temperature, and to put it in vacation mode. It also sends notifications for maintenance and error messages if something goes wrong. The operating modes are a combination of HP and Electric water heating. See below on your specific questions 1. Does the appliance actually tell you the tank temperature and is it accurate? No it only displays the set point. 2. Does the HWT track energy, water, and draw usage and show your history? No none of that, I was disappointed that it didn’t offer a way to track at least HP vs Electric. 3. Can this Smart appliance be controlled locally without the aid of the cloud? The control panel on the front can be used, but I’m sure the Phone App talks to the cloud. BTW the WiFi capability does not come with the appliance. You have to purchase a module to enable remote control (~$40) 3. Does the unit operate in a fail safe vs fail secure mode should there be a failure of the electronics? Nothing states that it does and thankfully I haven’t had a problem yet. On my Bosch the HP was the problem and it automatically switched over to Electric when the HP quit working. I would hope this one does something similar. What kind of alerts can be had and what do you think about them? The app has 3 categories of alert: Major, Minor, and Maintenance. So far no alerts. I wish the Bosch had alerts. I had no idea that the HP died and the control panel gave no indication, so this is a big step ahead of my old one. If you had to do it all over again would you buy this smart appliance? Yes What is the total cost for this unit and what capacity do you purchase? $1000 plus a few hours of labor to install. That price does not reflect retail; the dealer gave me a better price after the Bosch failed so soon. I have a 50 Gal, it also come in an 80 Gal version. I have a special needs daughter who needs a bath daily, in retrospect I probably should have bought the 80 Gal. Is this device energy star rated and is yours a NG vs Electric? Yes, Electric Does it offer leak detection? No Does it offer vacation and custom scheduled modes for time of day, week, months? Vacation mode only, that’s why ISY control was desirable. Is there an emergency over ride should the electronics fail? No, not obvious or documented in the user manual. I phrase it that way because I learned from the Bosch Tech access to special menus using multiple key presses. There may be something similar on the GE. Tim
  22. Thanks Teken, I didn't realize that there was an IFTTT for GE. Great news! Tim
  23. Does anyone know if there is a way to get ISY to communicate with GE's ConnectPlus? I'd like to be able to control my water heater setting via my ISY. Thanks, Tim http://www.geappliances.com/ge/connected-appliances/geospring.htm
  24. Add the parenthesis to all 3 programs and let us know if that changes the behavior
  25. You need to add parenthesis around the 2 motion sensor conditions. For example: If (Control 'Devices / Motion Sensors / MS DHall LR' is switched On Or Control 'Devices / Motion Sensors / MS DHall Stairs' is switched On) And From 10:30:00PM To 7:30:00AM (next day) Do the lights only flash when triggered by the motion sensors, or do they flash when you manually turn them on?
