  1. @larryllix, can verify that opening, updating, saving, then saving the network list works. Looks like you have to do it for every single one, UGLY as I have many. I'll get to that after snowplowing and hockey. I put in a ticket and @Michel Kohanimgave me back my portal tab. One more issue, if any of you in the vanguard had it. I moved to a new USB PLM. I did a restore but seems it is not receiving switch inputs to run my programs. It will work fine to send programs or to send to a device. Also, if I do a query it will update statuses. Should I do another restore PLM, or is there a better method? Thanks again to the crowd and UD !!
  2. @bpwwerits the PG3 as its associated with the port address of 3000. If that is how it works I may just uninstall and reinstall PG3; as I said before I have only played with it so far. I will move what I can to it from PG2 as I get things stable first. I was able to change the ISY address to localhost ; it is working well. on the unrelated note, we are very lucky to be on lake Fenton, I didn't grow up here but was able to buy at the last downturn. It has meant a really wonderful place for my kids to spend their time growing up. Not a bad place for mum & dad to float around on as well. I have lived in about eight countries, I agree the world is very small. The more people realize that and that we are all the same in the end means a better planet. Hope your life travels from Grand Blanc have treated you well.
  3. Moved over to the Poly ISY and promptly lost my Portal tab. I put in a ticket. was able to move my PG2 and PG3 over. Had to change a number of IP addresses in the Nodes on both the Node server and through the config in the ISY. other than the Portal tab all is working well including a transfer to a USB Insteon modem; of course I will have to add my four ZWAVE devices. EXCEPT my network pushes do not seem to be working at the moment. Anyone have any of those issues, is it because I don't have the portal and thus do not have the network module? or is that not an option anymore? last step looking to migrate the portal and my Alexa integrations.
  4. @bpwwer, appreciate the response, even after a number of reboots it still shows the old ISY but no worries for now. on the PG3, I am glad I have only played with it for now, I will start my nodes from scratch. was able to get my PG2 over from my 994 to the poly after restoring my 994-ISY to the polyISY. have lost my portal connection to the polyISY with the restore ; can I still do the ISYportal migration? that is my next step here. I don't have but four z-wave's so that is no issue really. onward and upward!
  5. Minor issue for feedback. Updated my ISY on Polisy & PG3. the PG3 is showing the new PG3 but old ISY: Frontend Version: 3.0.36 ISY Version: 5.2.0 Also one other item. I changed the IP address which my Polisy is on my network, all is working fine and really is moved except the Polyglot Settings in PG3 show the current IP as the old IP and cannot be changed. I have PG2 concurrently running but it does not have a field for this in settings. again minor cleanup issues, Happy new year!
  6. I’d buy them if you are interested. SeJ
  7. Thanks Michel, really not asked for or needed but true to word I just received a refund. If only all companies operated in this manor.
  8. I just decided to pay for it. Consider it a very small tip Michel. SeJ
  9. No one ever called you a dummy [emoji106] SeJ
  10. I was wondering why I didn’t see you logo on their site when I knew “you” had a nodeserver. That’s too bad, Lutron would be a good one to continue to raise your profile. I’m doing my part & installing a new Polisy at my friend’s place. I’m up to three now for the team! SeJ
  11. Appreciate the follow-up @Jimbo , understand the answer is not clear. Life is full of compromise. I think I will order a server, moisture sensor, & temp sensor to play with (through your link) after Christmas. For ~$140 seems worth giving it a shot. I know this forum will bubble up a better answer when it becomes available. Thanks so much for the discussion, it changed my thoughts on zigbee, my thoughts on whether I have 'built out' my z-wave network to give it a proper chance, & got me feeling better about 'what if Insteon goes away'. This forum is invaluable.
  12. Thought I read that on the forum for this Node server. Also read that it didn't seem very clear of the data path. So is it 'all local' but it needs to call momma to work, or does the data really go to the cloud and back. I am also interested in Zigbee. My experience so far with Z-wave has been kind of "OK" but I don't feel the reliability that I have had with the Insteon. The switches have worked fine but the sensors, door in my case, have been spotty. Also not interested in a complex path back to the Policy, would like a plug-in like the z-wave or Insteon which can go through a node server. With all that, any thoughts out there, this is an interesting discussion to me?
  13. Pretty neat, so you got me looking at their web-site and then your node-server, and then the forum. You seem to state it in the GitHub but to be clear ALL of this can happen on my local network, from the tags to the tag-manager, to the poly node server, to the ISY (last step obvious)? And this node server with the rest server works ok on the polyglot since I plan on moving my ISY there as well I'd like to end up with one device. Thank you so much for bringing this up. Seems much more reliable than z-wave which I have just found OK so far with a few devices. Stephen
  14. Yes I may not have been clear, I have z-wave devices and am familiar with them. Trying to get advice / opinions from this crowd on good/bad experiences with the devices & reliability of them. The Insteon’s I have been great but they are the only leak sensors I have used & I am getting worried about the supply as almost all Insteon have been out of stock for a while. SeJ
  15. As Insteon seems on the decline at least for availability (have had great experience with their moisture sensors) does anyone have recommendations for moisture / leak sensors? Would prefer z-wave as opposed to wifi.
  16. Much appreciated. At least I’ll stop banging my head on it. So as this isn’t stopping me from my next step in transition; I haven’t really begun moving stuff over, I’m still playing to test stability. If a known issue would the team prefer a ticket or just wait a bit? Don’t want to cause undue noise to this excellent development team. SeJ
  17. After the upgrade my Polisy ISY no longer shows as online in the ISY Portal. Have tried reboots and otherwise. Locally ISY and Node server both work just fine. Except it does not show the portal module any more. Does not seem to be a network issue as my 994 ISY shows up just fine. Thoughts for me to try?
  18. You are advanced enough to use curl, that says you know enough. Start small and inch your way there. The cleanest way is a node server for sure but there are other ways to skin the cat (I am old too btw: ). Write a script with curl and then use the ISY REST to write your variable. Then have your script run as a service on a desktop or a raspberry pi triggered regularly. I did this before the nodes were a thing then finally took a look at a few node server examples and made first some changes to others then my own node. SeJ
  19. Omg this is a wonderful feature. As stated previous it will reduce my NR significantly as I mastery use them with prowl for notifications. I’ll be watching the thread on getting it to work. Also building up my fortitude to start from scratch on the Polisy. SeJ
  20. @Michel Kohanim , Thanks for the magic! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. @Michel Kohanim, yes sir I did. a couple times to be sure. when I look up similar issues with bsd they suggest to 'wait' until the servers update, but it seems most others here are not having any issues.
  22. so I ordered my usb plm and decided to put isy on my polyisy got as far as running the v13 shell script which has me running v5.04 isy I am on the portal which verifies the version just fine. all is running fine but when I try to update to v5.1.1 I get.. pkg: https://pkg.isy.io/FreeBSD-base/FreeBSD:13:amd64/latest/packagesite.pkg: Not Found FreeBSD-base repository is up to date. Updating udi repository catalogue... udi repository is up to date. All repositories are up to date. when run from the portal the update gives a http 500 error when run from the admin the update window asks for me to do a backup then nothing. any thoughts?
  23. I do not use GH, just Alexa & while sometimes the voice recognition can be frustrating, once it understands execution is maximum 5s and usually quicker. I use the portal V3 and have north of 50 commands linked to my isy.

Mpg, Have you played around with Alexa groups at all? They were pretty basic at first but work “ok” now. If you put the Alexa for the room in the group I know the “Alexa lights on” works well generically in multiple rooms. The same is claimed & may be true with other devices. If you go into the app there is help for groups that is much much better than when it first came out. You can even nest groups now.

Of course the specific answer to your question is above. I’m curious to ask why are you using a different account for each Alexa. I have 8 units in my house using the same Alexa skill -> portal -> ISY. Is there a security or control issue you are concerned about? Interested; one of us may learn something here, likely me.
