  1. all loads (lights) removed still will not update
  2. will the fact that the new switches are dual band help? the arrival of the new switches is delayed due to the ones I got today are on-off, so returned them, wanted dimmers
  3. no, LED lights still in did a factory reset then restore and when writing updates is still only goes halfway then sticks
  4. Factory reset is pin pulled then held back in for 10sec correct. Did that and tried to restore but write function halted half way through
  5. It is a nunber of LED lights
  6. HI, Just curious if anyone has ideas. I have two toggle switches in garage that sit side by side. One of them decided to not be working so well. It always works locally, but not always in a program or remotely. I tired to restore it an the isy can never complete the "write". So I assume it is bad (as several years old), so replaced with another used one I had around and while isy can add it to the program it has the same problem of isy not being able to update it. Since these are old non-dual band units I ordered a new dual band paddle switch arriving today. I will install and see if that fixes the problem, but with this switch working for years and the second one (although also old) not working in the same way, I am thinking it may be another problem. Any thoughts?
  7. Thnaks all. It seems that some of the remotelincs were not updated. They seemed to work fine so even though they had the green 101010 symbol I never bothered. fixed that and it seems to update now much faster. thanks Joe
  8. I have had the isy for several years and added a fair number of Insteon devices. There are a few scenes but not so many However, when I make a change (something simple like changing the device on level in a scene) it takes many minutes to update. It seems like it goes off to make changes on almost every device. Yes, some of them are linked devices, so make sense. But despite the system not getting any more compex, the time to make these changes seems to have increased over the years. Now, the very simplest of changes is sometimes over 10 minutes. Does something need to be "clean out" like relinking some things? At a loss. Thx Joe

Made a new scene with both lights as responders as well as both of the keypads as responders and the remote link as a controller. Worked perfect! Not only did the remote link turn on both lights is that was supposed to both of the keypad keys could turn off the individual lights or I could turn them both off from the Remotelinc. Perfect! Thanks all

what I am trying to do is quite simple so sure there is another way: Scene #1 has a keypadlinc key A as a controller so when that scene is active ti will turn on a "garage light" and the keypad key A lights I want to create Scene #2: Scene #2 will have the "garage light" AND "Patio" light with a remote switch as the controller so when active I want it to also light the keypadlinc pad A so it will be lit and if I turn it off ti will also turn off the "garage light" Possibly as simple as having the KPL pad A as a responder in two different scenes?

Can you have Scenes within a new scene? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I was only about 40 feet from the PLM as Michel, in another email, said it was only a function of being far from the PLM. however it was four rooms away and my walls are very well insulated from RF as I know because my Wi-Fi does not propagate very well. I put it in the outside garage bathroom and plugged a Lamplinc dual band right next to it and finally got it to work.

Ok I removed my signalinc (per Michel in private email) and moved the old remotelinc far away from the PLM near a dual ban lamplinc and now all programed good. Man who would have known! Very weird. Is everyone moving away from the old remotelincs? Thanks for your help!

  17. Michel I have no Thermostat or baby monitors. I seem to have no RF communication. see my other thread. Very frustrating, do not know what to do. Thx Joe

what do you mean by starting the linking process? I tried to link a new remotelinc and got insteon engine not detected, see other thread i entered, but now seems like the same issue
  19. jkraus replied to jkraus's topic in ISY994
that does not make sense to me, but nevertheless tried it, no luck

"I am noting that the update that is failing is to change the PLM address in the RemoteLinc so the PLM is different from when the RemoteLinc was last successfully updated." yes, but what do I do about that, as even trying to link a new remotelinc will not work now. Is the PLM bad? how does one reset a remotelinc? I can try that should I try to remoter the PLM? seems like no RF communication at all
  21. jkraus replied to jkraus's topic in ISY994
I have tried everything it seems my communcation is null. wow, never had this issue, but everything seems to be working OK
  22. wow I must be having some communication issues see other post whee I cannot write to devices. really wondering what is going on here!

I have now tried everywhere in the house with no success
  24. jkraus replied to jkraus's topic in ISY994
you comment is interesting. I did not imply that I changed the PLM but actually I did some time ago (few months back). does that cause an issue? not sure where you are heading
  25. jkraus replied to jkraus's topic in ISY994
thanks, but that did not help either. I am in my office where I always did this and it is in the she same room with the PLM (does that act as an access point?). it has always worked hear, but I am also having issue with adding an new remotelinc (different thread) so maybe same problem. But I also tried out near a new light switch that I know is dualband.
