Just received this if anyone is interested: As of June 1, 2023, the RadioRA 2 main repeater, all starter kits containing the RA2 main repeater, and all Grafik T RF controls for RadioRA 2 will be discontinued.

It has been a while and I was just looking at my Polisy "To--Do" list and came across the "Ecobee Forecast" info. I would like to access some of the forecast fields that are in the forecast but for the life of it I have no clue as to where to start. I am sure I will need to do something like Node red or something like that. The only thing that I have running using ecobee is the attic fan based on the difference between the outside temp and the attic temp. Hints

Need help Documenting my ISY994i configurations
Mustang65 replied to Old Surfer Dude's topic in ISY994
Don't forget to add any required subscriptions and links to them for portals, support.... ID's and passwords I have a "Work in Progress" that I call "Death Star" (no comments please) and the iCON sits in the middle of my desktop screen. My son is aware of it, but breaks out in a cold sweat when I mention it. i set up a VLAN to my UniFi network for him to access all this stuff. Wife not interested in any of it.... well only the lights coming on and off and the alarm system. Son will probably remove the bulk and install in his house. He spent a lot of time in IT so that is half the battle.- 10 replies

I just tested my ISY on Polisy messaging response using myphonenumber@vtext.com (Verizon) and it took exactly 7 seconds, which is longer than normal. When I first started using this feature, I did create a gmail account for my ISY use.

You may want to try to assign a Static IP address. Eventually when the Polisy connects to the WiFi, while it is connected, go into UniFi and give it a Static IP address. After that, even if it gets changed back to DHCP it will still use the UniFi Static assigned IP address.
-
In UniFi, do you have "Hide WiFi Name" turned on. You may have to turn it off to set it up and then turn in back on after it is connected. Unfortunately, for some of my media center and IoT things, I have to leave IoT visible.

I purchased the Zooz S2 stick 700 and ConBee 2 Zigbee USB stick for Polisy. I figure that the signal will get a few extra meters being in the upright position and not flat, so I purchased a package of 90 degree USB adapters. I checked them out on my laptop with a regular USB modem and it worked just fine. I probably could have just used USB extension cables to accomplish the same thing, but I decided to go with this method. It fits perfectly in Polisy with the USB cord for the PLM plugged in below it. I will need one additional USB port as I still have the ConBee 2 Zigbee USB - Gateway to plug in, which means I will need to find my USB to serial dB 9 adapter cable for the PLM. Would a powered USB HUB work with Polisy? That may be another option. A nice enhancement for Polisy2 would be a total of 4 USB connections, with the 2 additional connections spaced away from the existing 2 for wider dongles.

I have just purchased my "LAST" PLM and it of course is a USB model. So, as I look at replacing all my Insteon devices one at a time I am now trying to research my replacement options, with one that I hope will be around for years to come and "NOT" require the purchase of a HUB for connectivity. Sitting on the side, I already have an Insteon hub and a Hubitat hub collecting dust. Maybe a little premature, but I have retired my ISY994I as the Zigbee module (For the Brultech Energy Monitor connection) stopped working and I do not have anymore PLM's for the ISY anyway. I was going to replace the capacitors on the mother board of the old ones, but I have decided against that at this point in time. So my Polisy is up and running using the USB-PLM. If the PLM goes, I will be dead in the water. Now the new dilemma, which to go with for future installations? Zwave (908MHz) or Zigbee (2.4GHz - crowded frequency). Granted Zigbee does have 915MHz but that I do not think is going to be used. If you look at the NEW MATTER Alliance, Zigbee is already part of it, but as of my last search Zwave has not joined the Matter Alliance. Is there going to be a Matter hub coming out in the future? Hope not! I have been leaning toward the Zigbee based product lines as the companies that produce Zwave products require the device mfr to license ($$) their product which makes the Zigbee products a little less expensive. I am not totally sure but I believe the Matter Alliance fee is $28K, not sure if that was to join or annual. Either way I need to wait for the Polisy Zwave and Zigbee update to be able to use either one, but I would say the Zwave will be first. I already havef the ConBee2 USB-Gateway and the Zooz S2 stick 700 for Zwave. Just have to wait now.

Add a VPN connection to your home network, a lot safer anyway.

You should have received an email about a month ago from Google indicating that they were going to disable the "low security" feature on any gmail accounts with email's that appeared to being generated by devices as a security move, "IF" they were not actively being used. Not sure as to what they define "Active" as. I checked and sure enough they disabled the low security feature on my gmail account that my Raspberry Pi uses to notify me with the newly assigned Public IP address, when the ISP changes my Public IP address. It has been running for the last 5 years and only sent me a new Public IP address about 5 times or so. I reset the gmail account back to "Low Security". Since they indicated that it would be on gmail accounts that are not that active, I decided that I would have the Pi send an email to my regular email account once every 24 hours. So at 11:15PM each night it generates an email to me. So far it works fine and I do not mind moving it with the "Junk" mail to the deleted folder each morning. Time will tell if this works. It also lets me know that the Pi is still doing its job.

Since my PLM bit the dust and I received the USB version I am officially moving to ISY on Polisy. I shut down my ISY994i and decided that I am going to stick with the Polisy version of ISY. So, after getting through some speed bumps with the help of support I am moving on. I am setting up Polisy one device at a time. For me it was time to move on. I may have encountered my first device/program issue and it includes Sunrise/Sunset (Next Day) with a Motion Sensor II. Program 1: The basic program works perfectly WITHOUT Sunset/Sunrise. Program 2: Added Sunset/Sunrise and the Car Port light comes on, but does not turn off. Tried reversing the order of sunset/sunrise and motion sensor in the "IF", with no luck. Worked fine on the old ISY. PGM-1 Lights - Car Port - [ID 000D][Parent 0001] If 'Motion Sensor - Car Port' Status is On Then Set 'Lights - Car Port - On-Off Mo' On Wait 1 minute and 15 seconds Set 'Lights - Car Port - On-Off Mo' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') PGM-2 Lights - Car Port - [ID 000D][Parent 0001] If 'Motion Sensor - Car Port' Status is On And From Sunset To Sunrise (next day) Then Set 'Lights - Car Port - On-Off Mo' On Wait 1 minute and 15 seconds Set 'Lights - Car Port - On-Off Mo' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

Come on..... build yourself a device that will take advantage of your sidewalk access, program it to use your Google 501Mbs and your done. Now there is a new product to be sold to the masses. A sidewalk JAMMER!

About 2 months ago I read about this and it still is not displayed on my iPhone. I check each day. My son had it and deleted it. Strange!

I believe that I was reading that Amazon Smart Plug can be used with ISY. I was just on Amazon (where else would I be) and the Amazon Smart Plug is on sale for PRIME members for $14.99, if you are interested. The price changes from $24.99 to $14.99 when you get to checkout. Don

Just checking, and not sure if it will be an issue, are both switches on the same line? What line is the PLM on? Do you have a signal bridge between L1 and L2". I am guessing it is an Insteon switch. Just wondering

I use the https for remote access and http for local access. I did not enter my public IP for the https entry above. Both work on local use. Only one ISY now, the other one is toast after the lightning strike. Sorry, missed the main part of your question. I have a Ubiquity network controller and everything plugs into it and the 24 port managed switch as it assigns the IP addresses. Still moving them around to different subnets, which was not a problem prior to the hit

At least my RV SOLAR works fine. Total for my 250 Watt SOLAR panel with 260Ah batteries since 2012. Batteries still going strong... OK not as strong as when they were new.

May it "RIP"!!! It has been about 10 months and 4 days since the install of the SOLAR/Battery combination for the 2843 OPEN/CLOSE sensor on my yard privacy gate. I walk out into the yard each night and go out through the gate that has the 2843 sensor on it. As I opened the gate I noticed that my watch did not alert me that the gate was opened and a few seconds later the yard lights did not come on (after sunset). So this morning I opened the 2843, checked the battery voltage and it was "0" volts. I would say it was a good run for the battery. Unfortunately, I am out of 1.2VDC rechargeable batteries, so pulled the SOLAR cell wires off and put a regular battery in. Back up and running. Maybe, I will just have to see how long this battery lasts.

Thanks gzahar, I just did that. I located another post that covers how to compare temperatures. I will give them a try. https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/25441-ecobee-temperature-sensor-differential-as-variable/?tab=comments#comment-253829

I now have the ecobee node server running on Polisy and need some assistance. I am trying to replace my ecobee attic fan program that triggers the attic fan based on a specific ecobee attic temperature. The problem here is that the roof (not insulated) is always hot and keeps the attic temperature constant, with the fan on or off. The only time that the fan makes a difference is after the Florida sun stops beating down on the roof. I am trying to write some code that will: (1) when the time is Sunset - 1 hour (2) and ecobee outside temperature is 5 degrees less than ecobee attic temperature (5 degrees as a buffer) I have the temperature triggering code up and running, but can not figure how to get the code for comparing the 2 ecobee temperatures. Most likely very simple but beyond me. Here are the 2 ecobee variables that I am working with. This is not the existing program. Ecobee - AtticFan - [ID 0041][Parent 0001][Not Enabled] If Time is Sunset - 30 minutes And 'Ecobee - Living Room / Ecobee - 3 - ATTIC' Temperature > 100.0°F And 'Ecobee - Living Room / Ecobee - 2 - OUTSIDE' Temperature > 90.5°F Then Set 'Fan - Atic' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')
