Thanatar
Amazon has finally added the routines ability. I have one that runs my good night program. Now you just say "Good Night" rather than turn on good night. Much higher WAF. Currently it lists News, Smart Home, Traffic, and Weather as available options to add to your routine. Routines is listed in the Alexa app under settings. Link to comment
rccoleman
That’ll be a great feature! I’ve already set up Good Morning and Good Night. Thanks for the heads up. Link to comment
stusviews
I don't see Routines under settings Link to comment
rccoleman
It’s not actually under the Settings section, but it’s a top-level item (and peer to Settings) in the menu (hamburger icon). At least that’s where it is in iOS. Link to comment

MWareman
Nice feature. Finally, Alexa can do the same voice shortcuts that Google Home has been able to do all along... Makes my FireTVs even better... Link to comment
rccoleman
Ah, yes. I have a bunch of echoes and Dots, so it was buried in Settings. Link to comment
stusviews
Found it in iOS, but not in the Windows app which I use nearly exclusively. I was able to set up one program, but nearly all my programs, scenes and devices are not available. Kind of useless. Link to comment
toflaherty
This is incredible. I only have 2 routines set up so far; "Alexa, good morning," and "Alexa, good night." Good night simply runs my "turn everything off" program, but good morning turns on a light scene, gives me the weather, news briefs, and traffic. This is such a large stride towards more natural language where you don't have to say "turn on" or "turn off" for something to happen. The next major natural language breakthrough is going to be when it is possible to speak to an echo in any given room and just say "turn the lights on." It's weird when I'm in the kitchen and have to say "turn on the kitchen lights," or similar in any other room. I think this will be coming soon as well. Link to comment

G W
The idea is to do it with one account so one can use Prime Music and Video. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk Link to comment

stusviews
Follow up from post #8. I added the program I wanted to use in the bedroom only to my main account (living room). I selected only the Bedroom (account) Echo as a controller of the program. That works, but the living room (main) Echo runs the program, too. That logic seems to obliterate the ability to use the same command (e.g., light, fan) in each room and having it control only the device in that room. BTW, it's just me, but I have a 5-digit $$$ sound system. I'm really not into Prime Music on a small device (Sonos fans, disregard this). Link to comment

stusviews
Follow up from post #14. Problem solved. Log out from main account, log into bedroom account. Create a routine in the bedroom account. Delete the "main" erroneous routine. So, multiple accounts are still needed!!! Link to comment

It entirely depends on the distance between my eyes and the screen. It's all relative and not an appropriate discussion for this forum. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk Link to comment
