Zwave 500 series dongle. UD Store Pain in the A_s

Recommended Posts

Tried about seven times to order the new 500 series board.

1.  The system passed me off to an area of not knowing me.

2. The store would not accept the order with Paypal.

3. Third time trying the store said that coupon wmwontovhgo3mdeo wasn't mine and refused to give me the $20.00 cfredit.

NOT VERY HAPPY!!!!!

Read the problem!

I know the board is available!

The UDI coupon is linked to your original email.

If you used a different email address when trying to purchase the dongle the coupon will not be recognized.

If that's not the case then send an email to sales@universal-devices.com and they're take care of you.

The people at UDI are the most helpful and accommodating that I've ever run across.

Your thinking process is misdirected.

I think you're quoting the wrong person. I've never spoken bad about udi. In fact most time I defend them when they're bashed.

My comment was directed at the op in regards to his response towards you

Apologies to everyone.  However if you had gone through the run around that I have experienced thus far I strongly feel that your comments would be the same or possibly worse.

Even after opening a ticket I got no further with UD.

Finally I ordered the board through a different supplier that was quick, accurate and straight forward.

I went to order the 500 series board back in August, and the UDI store was out of stock. So, I contacted UDI Sales and they replied and asked me to order it from Orchestrated Home. Of course, OH doesn't offer the discounts, but the board was only $40.99 so I went ahead and ordered.

I just checked the OH website today and their price for the board has gone up to $60.99! I'm glad I ordered when I did. Why has there been such a big price increase?

Me too :-(  I wish to upgrade my years-old Series 300 Z-Wave module...

Rewind, a couple of days ago:  I was excited to see the 500 Series back in-stock; I tried to order.  Alas, I had no Coupon code, but I walked through the process - including selecting my Shipping - the default was atrociously expensive :-(

Fast forward back to today:  I received my Coupon Code, and applied it.  I was excited!  I paid via PayPal (the PayPal (pre-)approval was for $50).. Then:

1)  Received a "Checkout Error" on UDI's website

2) Despite the error, I received confirmations for the order from UDI, and for the payment from PayPal.

3) Suddenly see, without my choosing or acknowledgement, that I'd been hit for $62.85 Shipping :-(

My experience, like others in this thread, is that Michel and UDI are awesome folks to deal with.  I quickly emailed UDI with these pertinent facts and a screenshot, but am waiting to hear that they can provide the lower-cost Shipping that I'd really like...  The point of this post is to share my experience with others, who clearly are finding the road bumpy too.

Late Breaking Edit:  UDI did respond, cancelling my weird order  I think that is the best possible way to handle this situation.  I was then re-issued another Coupon Code, and this time the checkout-process did offer three shipping choices!  Second Time = Lucky :-)

What is this coupon you're all talking about?  How do I go about getting one?

UDI offers some help for folks who've recently purchased the now-discontinued Series 300 module.

This Wiki-Page details the structure of the Coupons:

In case the web-page changes in the future, here's the relevant extract:
